I voted for the 1st time in my life, for President Reagan in his 1st term. I was 18 years old. Of course I also voted for him in his 2nd term. I didn't realize then that I was a conservative. I was just to naively idealistic at the time. He is one of two presidents that I am still proud that I voted for. The other is Donald J. Trump. Four decades and only two presidents that I feel were worthy to lead. And both of them from unlikely backgrounds. Many years later, when I was 45 years old, after years of ignoring God, the Holy Spirit finally got my attention and lead me to the Catholic Church. I at one point in my life had declared I would never be Catholic! The Lord God had other plans and His plans, in His time, always come to pass. I have since learned a bit about Pope John Paul 2, especially his theology of the body. I regret that while he was on this earth I was oblivious to his brilliance and humble service to God and to all of humanity. This video shows, in my humble opinion, the two greatest human world leaders of my adult life together on one stage. It seems to me more than ever that we desperately need someone to fill their shoes.

Amazing similarities between these two men. Both came from humble origins to rise to the very top of their fields. Both were actors! Both survived assassination attempts and both worked diligently to bring peace to the world. Sadly, both also suffered from long illnesses before their passing -- Pope John Paul with parkinson's disease and Pres. Reagan with alzheimer's.

By means of this theory, those crafty men remove all distinction between virtue and vice, truth and error, honorable and vile action. They pretend that men can gain eternal salvation by the practice of any religion, as if there could ever be any sharing between justice and iniquity, and collaboration between light and darkness or any agreement between Christ and Belial.”

“Particularly noteworthy was the prayer meeting at the sanctuary of Our Lady of Mercy at Lake Togo where, for the first time, I also prayed with a group of Animists.”
      - John Paul II, Aug. 8, 1985
“For which reason, conventions, meetings and addresses are frequently arranged by these persons, at which a large number of listeners are present, and at which all without distinction are invited to join in the discussion, both infidels of every kind and Christians, even those who have unhappily fallen away from Christ or who with obstinacy and pertinacity deny His divine nature and mission. Certainly such attempts can nowise be approved by Catholics, founded as they are on that false opinion which considers all religions to be more or less good and praiseworthy since they all in different ways manifest and signify that sense which is inborn in us all and by which we are led to the obedient acknowledgement of His rule. Not only are those who hold this opinion in error and deceived, but also in distorting the idea of true religion, they reject it and little by little, turn aside to naturalism and atheism, as it is called; from which it clearly follows that one who supports those who hold these theories and attempts to realize them, is altogether abandoning the divinely revealed religion.”

“By using images, the New Testament presents the place destined for evildoers as a fiery furnace, where people will ‘weep and gnash their teeth’ … The images of hell that Sacred Scripture presents to us must be correctly interpreted. They show the complete frustration and emptiness of life without God. Rather than a place, hell indicates the state of those who freely and definitively separate themselves from God, the source of all life and joy.”
      - John Paul II, July 28, 1999
“Our Lady opened her hands once more as she had done the two previous months. The rays of light appeared to penetrate the earth and we saw, as it were, a sea of fire. Plunged in this fire, we saw the demons and souls of the damned. The latter were like transparent burning embers, all blackened and burnished bronze. Having human forms, there were floating about in that conflagration, now raised into the air by the flames that were issued within themselves, together with great clouds of smoke. Now they fell back on every side like sparks in huge fires without weight or equilibrium amid shrieks and groans of pain and despair, which horrified us and made us tremble with fright. The demons were distinguished by the souls of the damned by their terrifying and repellant likeness to frightful, unknown animals, black and transparent like burning coals.”

The Pope is preparing to board the plane, when he hears that PRESIDENT RONALD REAGAN is on the same flight. "This is exciting," thinks the Pope. "Perhaps I'll be able to see him in person." To his surprise, REAGAN sits down in the seat next to him. Shortly after take-off, REAGAN begins a crossword puzzle. Almost immediately, REAGAN turns to The Pope and says, "Excuse me, but do you know a four letter word referring to a woman that ends in ‘-unt’?’" One word comes to his mind. "My goodness," thinks The Pope, "I can't tell President REAGAN that. There must be another word." The Pope thinks for a while, and then it hits him. Turning to REAGAN, The Pope says, "I think the word you're looking for is ‘aunt.’" "Of course," says REAGAN. "Do you have an eraser?"

Both readings are bound up with the vision of their respective faiths, of which the readings are the result and expression. Consequently, both are irreducible.”

John Paul II arranged for all of the religious leaders (including witch doctors) to meet in Assisi on Oct. 27, 1986. The Hindu prayer said: “Peace be on all gods.” The Animist leader prayed to the “Great Thumb.”
