I hope this relationship between you and your mother continues to prosper. I hope you guys become like mum and me sometimes, just in a different unique way of your own. Because honestly, “feeling so understood sometimes like you’re her torn off limb and being seen so well it’s penetrating” have its own drawback, one of them is being actually uncomfortable as hell and a lot of non-consensual interference 😅

Very happy that your mother communicate back. And you would be surprised, us kids tend to create a perception that our parents don’t like us and are there to be against us 😅 it’s the Asian stereotypes. But I think with your mother’s history as an independent woman paving her own path, she is more understanding than you think. My mother still has to remind me that sometimes I paint her into a “villain” she is not. Sorry mum, 95% of the time I paint you in extremely good light though!
