Well done Bob and Chris for getting this British machine into your range the scope of the options gets better , the marketplace for smoking wood is massive compared to here in the UK another good opportunity for Dan to move onto , Brilliant!
Them are some good smoker chunks. I would definitely use that in my Weber Smokey mountain. Got to Home Depot busy bag that’s lot like what ya get. Nice work guys.
Looks like it worked well! I had mentioned on Dans video it would be slick to have a single knife box blade to split the desired slab thickness for his mini wood to run through the kindlet .
I think adding a fence board 3/4" to 1" thick as a spacer would would better to apply tension to the double stack of rounds to make these chunks more consistent.
A central divider with relief to allow the blade operation would prevent a lot of the twisting, that being said, does it really matter if you have some wastage when you can make 10+ bags an hour on your first attempt? I don’t know what they would sell for but it would seem to be a viable niche product to sell if you want to diversify.
Those sizes are good for a Weber kettle, an offset will use 12" + size pieces, aka normal firewood. At least that is what I use in my Weber and offset. I would like to see this same experiment with 5 1/2" cookies, I'm betting those would work better in a Weber kettle and be easier on the Kindlet.
Instead of those rounds I would make them thicker so they just fit in the infeed and have less room to twist (maybe a quarter inch total room to prevent them binding with the sides)
I think that worked great! The smoker chunks don’t all need all be uniform. It’s good to have different sizes when smoking! Nice work Bob and Dan👍🏻👍🏻
Good morning 🎉
Hello👋🏻
Dan,always a great 👍 pleasure watching you and Bob working together on different projects together 😮😊❤

I bet those chunks would burn well in the table top stoves also.
Those are nice cookies! My wife made cookies for me tonight too. Oatmeal Scotchies! Yum!😅
Good experimentation video 👍 Never know unless you try 😊
Good job ❤❤🎉

It would be interesting to see how the VS compares in making chunks
We could try this sometime!
I think a gravity type plunger on a pivot could be added to infeed side to put pressure on incoming rounds or cookies
You need to make a long handle tool to pull the splits out of the out feed end.
or just use a hoe or potato rake
A coal rake for a fireplace could work!
Hehehe charming 💪💪💪💪

This stuff would be perfect for the master built bbq smoker there a charcoal gravity fed grill you mix the chunks with the charcoal.
For sure!

Where would one source bags such as those?
Northern woodsman

Microwood? 🤔🤔🤔
id pay 10 bucks for a bag of smoking chunks like that.
