    Just discovered your channel and loving the calm, realistic info you present! Since this is only the 2nd vid I’ve seen, might be a fluke, but please consider leaving up text on screen for longer than a split second - had to reverse and fast forward several times just to catch and pause inmubles24 on the screen, and if I had blinked wouldn’t have realized it was even there. 😁

    I thought you could only stay in Mexico 6 months per year on the tourist visa?
    Can a tourist sign a lease?
    I’ve been seriously thinking about moving to Mexico from the USA.

Silly question but I just want to make sure my process goes smoothly. I have my temp Mexican passport but they just went off my US passport. Anything I should look out for ? The agent seems amazing and he speaks English, Spanish and French. But I just want to know if there are any questions I should ask at closing

    Hi misako thanks for the video ive been curious about this topic. Also can you maybe do a future video on what dating is like for a female expat, visitor or foreigner (not sure the best term) in Mexico including dating Mexican and non Mexican natives? Every time I see a question about this it’s usually a male asking. Interested in hearing the female perspective -also if there’s any open minded enm in Mexico as well or if it’s very traditional (marriage kids) still

      Hello, i'm mexican, dating mexicans is a little different of the US, a few years ago I used Tinder, you can find all you want, I found my girlfriend, but after that I was just looking for girls to hangout, we mexicans are a little bit tradicional but we are also open mind with people from other countries, once you already stablish and make friends you will feel more confident. If you need any help just ask. Saludos!

    Thanks you! I wanted to move next year, I’m wondering about health care. Can I stick with my American plan?

    • @GlobalAdventurer
      @GlobalAdventurer 2 роки тому +3

      It depends on which plan you have in the US. For instance, Blue Cross Blue Shield has HMO and PPO plans. Most of their PPO plans cover all international medical claims no matter which country you live in (almost). You would just keep your USA plan. Mexico has insurance companies and of course they will be cheaper, but definitely evaluate your situation because once you let go of a USA medical plan associated with your employment/retirement, you can't get it back. But, look at the fine print of your health insurance policy and see if they cover medical expenses (other than emergencies) in other countries. If so, they will be listed with the international health insurance liaison company that is responsible for coordinating your insurance with a Mexican hospital or clinic. So, that company communicates with the medical facility so you don't have to. Whatever you do, just don't get rid of your insurance if at all possible.

    Awesome videos! Thank you for the tips! Also i was told that you need to have a income coming from the country you moved from while you stay in mexico. (Im from Chicago) is that true?? If so for how long?

    • @MisakoEnvela
      @MisakoEnvela  2 роки тому

      Thank you so much! 🙏🏽❤️ So for the temporary resident visa you definitely do have to make your income from outside of Mexico. Whether it has to come from your home country or not, that I do not know! And you have to prove at least 6 months of income to be eligible 🙏🏽

    Thank you for sharing your information and experiences, Misako. Question about money transfer/conversion... Is one process to transfer money from a US bank and convert them to Pesos, is to: Withdraw US cash from an ATM in Mexico. And then take the US dollars it to a money exchange place, then exchange them to pesos? Does that seem correct? I am grateful for your help. And, your videos are very good. Thank you. Be Well.

    • @GlobalAdventurer
      @GlobalAdventurer 2 роки тому +5

      No, don't do a bank transfer, you're asking for trouble. Just use your debit card and withdraw money from the ATM. Or get a "Wise" debit card while you're in the US and use it as a way to transfer USD into PESOS or any other form of currency without paying huge conversion fees. Almost everyone uses the Wise card (used to be called Transferwise card".

      I have a Transferwise (Wise) debit card. I've used it around Europe and now here in MX. I just transfer money from the states into pesos with one click. You can then withdraw from an atm. With Wise, you will also have a regular debit card, and you can also have a virtual card to use for shopping online and billpay.

    You paid about a half month's rent for a "póliza jurídica", which is a type of insurance that makes sure you are who you say you are and able to pay the monthly rent. It paid for those lawyers asking you all those questions---so you should not expect to get it back.
