@@TJH3113 that's the thing, if you're name is Vinny Fodera or Ken Smith or Wal that name alone is responsible for most of the price tag. It's not like they do anything that's completely cutting edge. The stupid crazy fender prices for the old school basses are a testament to that. 10k gets you the same bass as 300$ in that respect. I will say that these boutique builders have something awesome going and it's uniqueness that I really appreciate. I feel like Warwick and Spector did it right by having some cheaper models as well as custom shops for the people who want to pay big bucks. I know Mike Tobias and Ken Smith tried it but not as successfully. Aside from the Asian copies if you want a Fodera you're going to be paying for it. But anyway I always love to hear your ideas and your commentary. You got an absolute great tone out of this thing and so much better than most of the other people I've heard playing Foderas. Thanks. Yes, it is extremely comfortable to play, but I have my own thoughts as to the cost/value ratio.
Opened my eyes for sure.
this is incredible dude
Thank you very much
Yessss! Killer and nimble groove, specially when Skillings breaks away from Vernon Reid during the B section and the solo. Thanks for the generous explainer after. Speed and reach mandatory to play this one - won't be within my reach for some time yet.
If you're still looking around for some fun bass lines outside of the norm to listen to, Argentinian rock band Soda Stereo has a song called "Lo Que Sangra" where the bass practically carries the melody. I think you'd dig it!
Yes, great song, isn’t it! Keep at it and you will get it.
Dude.. That bass! 🎸🎸
Great cover as usual!
Thanks.
Now we’re talking! I have always loved this band. Total ground breakers and in my opinion, nobody sounds like them. One of my all time favorite bass lines is Nothingness from the Stain Album. Keep up the great work! Now I got to dust off my bass and knock off the rust.
“Nothingness” has an awesome groove in the bass line. My favorite song by LC.
Thanks! I need to go back and revisit some of their catalog myself.
Great song! You did a fantastic job, as always. Great tone. Thank you!
Thanks a lot, I’m very glad you liked it!
That bass tone is amazing!
I"m glad you like it! Thanks Thomas.
Dude, I got so excited when I saw you were coving Cult of personality. Very tuff bass line, great Job as usual. 🤟
I’ve been toying with this one for a couple of years and finally decided to put it to rest. Thanks, I’m really glad you liked it.
What a great cover of a awesome tune.. this album is actually really good in my opinion I listened to it a ton when it came out way back when??? Lol..hope all is well have a great evening..
Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment, Drew!
The last 3 songs I was going to cover, you already did....LOL....Great job as always!
Don't let that stop you! Thanks.
@@TJH3113 No I'm still doing all actually there's a fourth one also, doing a Chris Squire medley tribute for his passing on 6/27/2015
Great choice! Back in the day, used to play this one on gigs. Half the time on guitar, other times on bass.
Thank you. Wow, the guitar sounds even crazier than the bass!
@@TJH3113 You definitely nailed it better than I ever did. We just faked whatever we couldn't figure out from cassette tapes.
Nice job Troy! Doug Wimbish is a monster, tough bass in this song. Well done!
Thank you!
As always, utterly fantastic, meticulous cover! I've always been a fan of this song (how could you not be?!). Your technique is always impressive, but (even with the isolated bass track being used), your ear is just off the charts, Troy. Thanks for another great track!
Wow, thank you very much Nick! The isolated track did not correlate at all to what was on the album.
One of my top favorite songs I play as a guitarist! You just rock this 🤘🤘🤘!!
Does this help?

Cool! Thanks. The video wasn't helpful for me with regard to learning more about the bass-line, but I thought it was really interesting. Thanks for sharing the link.
This is probably the first Fodera I love the sound of. But I think it's thanks to your playing ;-)
Thank you. I have my own thoughts on the bass that I'll get into at some point.
Stinkin awesome, dude!
Thank you Robert!
Oooo love that bass ❤️ and you sound just as amazing as you always have ! This is a good song 😊
Thanks Cindy!
Muzz Skillings is a beast.. Great cover! Sounded killer!
Without a doubt! Thank you Danny.
@@TJH3113 welcome sir..
Copying Muzz is always hard. Rick Skator from 24/7 Spyz is another one that is a lot of fun. Great job Troy. And a great choice of instrument to do it with.
Big truth! I'm not familiar with Rick Skator, I'll try to check him out. Thanks!
Wow that sounds fantastic!!!
I’m glad you liked it, thank you very much!
