I am an re beginner at embroidery. I last did it as a child I create jewelry. When do you use floss vs. bead threadto attach beads to a backing. In my head it makes more sense to use bead thread because it's much stronger. Don't know how it would hold up to washes if on a washable garment. Appreciate your response.
You can find them at any craft store like Joanns or Michaels. Or just get some thick card stock and cut it to whatever size you like as a temporary and cheap home solution
I just started the hobby with some kits from Amazon where the floss was just knotted on some cardboard. I bought an organizer to store the leftover floss and it came with bobbins. I saw the hole and notches and didn't know if there was a special way I was supposed to wrap the floss. So I googled it and found this video, and I found it very helpful. Maybe not everyone has the same knowledge as you, and maybe you shouldn't be so rude about it.
No one comes out of the womb knowing how to wind embroidery floss onto a bobbin. Like she mentioned in the video, some brands leave a tail that looks like it's where you're meant to pull from. If you're self-taught, it's an easy mistake to make since guides usually start with the actual stitching, not the prep work.
OMG I never knew how (or why) to do this before :) You just changed my life.
Thank you. Im just starting this hobby I'm hoping I like it. 😂
