      I have a AMP shaft with a 5-10 pound weight on top instead of a hip and work on the motion and mechanics with my off hand and dominant hand 2x10 and honestly it works well

    Weight your reps like 70 % weak 30 strong when doing wall ball. Tons of one hand weak hand

    Wall hall is a great one

    When I pass with my dominant hand I sort of “cradle” if with the bottom hand when I catch. Kind of like using the throttle on a motorcycle. When I use my non dominant hand I cradle with my top hand which is about half way up the stick.
    They are about the same speed but it bothers me that one is different.

      I'm not sure I understand. Through the motion of throwing you should be free of any cradle. Some will cradle just before to ensure the ball is in the right spot. No good shortcuts for what you want except doing the reps though. Working through wall ball and lots of it helps get the kinks out. May want to work with a coach locally and show him whats happening to ensure your form is good before building the reps with the wall.

    Any tips on your wind up/shooting cradle for an off hand?

    • @OffBallLax
      @OffBallLax  2 роки тому +1

      @Avewey its a lot about copying your strong hand the mirror is perfect for all of those things. Stand in front and watch your form with your strong hand. Then duplicate on the off hand side. You just need lots of reps to perfect it. Good luck and thanks for the question.

    How to make a less sloppy split dodge?

    • @OffBallLax
      @OffBallLax  2 роки тому +1

      A lot to unpack there @Brody. The best place to start is your footwork. Start watching some of the best on UA-cam show you their footwork. Start slow and get the footwork down. Then slowing increase speed. 25, 50, 75, 100% Then focus on the stick movement separate, the same way. Ultimately bring them both together.

    do goalies need to work offhand?

    • @OffBallLax
      @OffBallLax  Рік тому +1

      "NEED" is a strong word. But I will say yes and here is why. Is it because you use your offhand often...no. Has it happened...yes. Is it rare...yes. But, the more you have your stick in your hands the better you will be. So if you practice using both right and left hands, it means you are just getting more reps! All of this said, this is related to catching and throwing, I'm not thinking you are trying to make saves with your offhand...but hey it could be fun to try :)
