Guys! Guys! Guys!!!! How can you miss the interaction between SRK and Sonali (the doctor)? He says if I die (leave Naina) she’ll be devastated because she thinks people who love her/ she loves, always leave (like her dad) Even though Aman loved her, he knew he can’t hurt Naina like that. Rohit also loved her and Aman knew Rohit can take care of Naina and love her genuinely. In the last part though, they both get to know that Aman is dying. Naina realises what Aman did (to keep love in her life) and Rohit realises that it was Aman who made him aware of his feelings towards Naina but Aman was ready to sacrifice his own love for both of them. Rohit does not hate or despise Aman for doing it or being at his wedding. Both of them are shook with the news and can not believe Aman’s sacrifice.
@@rakshitsingh40 Its not obvious, probably for many people, getting a death sentence like that will make you think "I want to grab as much time as I can with the person I love"
@@abheya614 I acknowledge ur perspective on it too..... Its a matter of different perspective... Only reason i wont do it is what I mentioned before....
@@chewy9936 True, and to add to it, weddings are looked at as celebration, not as a cry fest. Even if there are tears, they are of being happy, overwhelmed etc. We Indians look at it differently. Plus, not every subculture in India has something like bidaai. In our weddings in Karnataka, we don't see people cry, and there is not really a bidaai. This was an alien concept to me that only happened in Bollywood movies, and when I saw it in weddings up north, I reacted in shock similar to their reaction here!
@@AMyNag Even in Karnataka we have 'ಬೀಳ್ಕೊಡೋದು'. Every Indian wedding has with different names. Who said we don't. That's the most emotional part in every damn wedding. All the more in our weddings because the father keeps the daughter's hand in the husband's & gives complete memory lane of how she grew up & how he expects her to be taken care of. My grandfather has 8 daughters. I have seen 5 of my aunts wedding we have all cried in all the weddings at that moment like anything.
Quick note about the crying at the wedding. It's not totally uncommon because it's a time when the girl realizes she is leaving her home and her family behind to join her new home and family. So more often than not the brides tend to cry a little during or shortly after the wedding because it's usually at that point they realize they are sort of leaving their old life behind
Bullsh**t karan johar movie imagine you are marrying someone who doesn't love you, and even her lover attends her wedding n she is crying that she can't merry him, if srk wasn't seek they don't care about rohit's feelings, only women like this kind of movies
@Abhishek Singh I know it was good at that time but cringe now, same for kuch kuch hota hai, he doesn't like kajol cause she was not pretty but when tina dies and he saw anjali look so beautiful now, so he fell in love with her
You guys missed alot of things in this movie a rewatch is definitely important. You see at the end she shows her appreciation for Rohit and proves that she has moved past Aman and now truly loves Rohit full heartedly she remembers Aman as the angel who brought her and her husband together. Aman is simply a memory.
Exactly. I don't know why they interpreted the end as "she still doesn't love Rohit" when right from the opening the movie is comparing Aman to an angel who showed her love... The end is to show you she has a loving family of her own now thanks to Aman because before meeting him she had decided she wouldn't marry... I'm French and this was my very 1st Indian movie, I don't see what's hard to get 🥴
Well imo Aman will always remain her first love and someone who will always have a place in her deepest of hearts and memories. Rohit has accepted that and appreciates Aman for bringing them together. And Naina loves Rohit wholeheartedly regardless him not being her first love. They are happily married and Aman remains their Angel.
Actually now rewatching the movie again my reaction would have been somewhat same therefore can't really blame them. It is like with time this movie couldn't hold it's old charm.
Not liking the movie is another issue but the sentiments would only have been understood by Achara as she always goes into details. Also, they couldn't understand the 'girl' was her daughter when she clearly said mom 😂 this is a sentimental movie which requires attention to the details.
They didnt understand that the girl was her daughter coz the kid that was cast was clearly a Caucasian kid ...I understand the sentiment was to portray the kid as a complete New Yorker...But can also understand why Steph would be confused !!!
@@sujithagopal837I don’t think she was a Caucasian kid. I think she was an Indian-American (or Pakistani-American, or whatever). I can’t find her name on IMDB or anything, but there are millions of us, y’know.
Dear Indians in the comment section. I know this reaction maybe is not what you imagined it to be (I admit I also felt sad while watching it, I usually really like watching reactions on this channel but this time I felt sad) but everyone can have their own opinion, right? If Syntell and Steph didn't really connect with this movie, it is fine, at least they didn't fake their reaction, these were their real feelings and it's all that matters. But please let me comfort you a little bit. I'm from Poland and been in love with Indian movies for years. I know many Polish fans of Indian cinema and I can assure you, 99% of them are in love with Kal Ho Naa Ho. Whoever I talk to among these Polish fans, they say Kal Ho Naa Ho is one of the best Indian movies they've seen in life. They rate it 10/10. It really is one of the most loved Indian movies in my country Poland. Also although it was many Polish people's first Indian movie, they still loved it and bawled their eyes out. It shows a foreigner doesn't have to be exposed to Indian culture before watching KHNH and still can love it. In my case, it was my second Indian movie I got to watch many years ago and although I knew almost nothing about India at that time, I simply fell in love with it (my Mom and sister too). We were crying like crazy and we rewatched this movie so many times throughout the years. By this comment I'm trying to show to Indians that it all depends on the person - some foreigners will love this movie, some won't. But please don't worry. There are many foreigners who deeply connected with this movie and love it with all their hearts! :)
As a French person, thank you for your comment! I very much agree that it depends on the person, but I also think there is a big difference between Americans & Europeans. It seems we have an easier time understanding Indian culture or maybe just other cultures in general. KHNH was my very first Indian movie and even though I didn't love it because it was a bit too melodramatic for my tastes, I did enjoy it and wanted to see more afterwards, and there was nothing that confused me in the movie 🤷♀️
I'm from Germany and I'm agree with you KKKG AND KHNH made Indian films popular in Germany In 2004 SRK, Preity Zinta, Priyanka Chopra, Arjun Rampal and Celena Jaitley came to the Germany-Dortmund city for the first time and this was amazing show ( I was there) and so many german people were there and they play every songs from this movies also from Main hoon naa and every body knew this songs and nobody was siting every body dance OMG it was so loud
@@AriaIsara True. When you mentioned that, it does seem to me too that Europeans grasp other cultures a little bit better than Americans. I'm sure it's similar in France too, but here in Poland we've been watching American movies since we were kids so automatically we were exposed to a different culture since childhood. Could that be the reason why we seem to understand Indian culture a little bit better? I'm not sure... Of course I don't want to generalize it... I still feel it all depends on the individual - I know so many Polish people who can't digest the formula of Indian movies and they only keep asking: „Do they dance and sing in this movie too? If they do, I don't want to watch it.” There are many such Polish people. But at the same time I also know so many Poles who are really open to Indian culture and accept Indian movies the way they are. It's just, you can't look at a foreign movie through the lens of your culture only... You need to be as open as possible and try to feel it, try to understand it. But it's also weird to say to someone "try to feel it" - you feel something or you don't, right? I didn't even have to make an effort to understand and feel KHNH, it just came to me naturally.. I just felt it with my heart... it moved me. Not only me, but many people in Poland. When I think about it, I can't even explain why it worked so well for me despite not knowing Indian culture almost at all at that time. Was it thanks to some inborn openness? Or maybe because I watched it so many years ago and the style of movies was so much different back then so it was easier to love this movie? Who knows... maybe if I watched it now for the first time, it wouldn't work for me... I don't know and I will never get to know it. All I know is this kind of Bollywood is what every Polish fan of Indian cinema misses right now. The newest Hindi movies are really westernized and they very often lack this beautiful charm and magic that older SRK movies used to have. So I personally am grateful that I got to know about Bollywood many years ago when it still was so Indian, so much different from American cinema. Thanks to that somehow nothing seems to surprise me. I can watch an Indian movie from the 50's or 90's, an old American movie, a Korean movie, a Spanish movie, and nothing seems weird or difficult to understand for me. :D I feel it's a blessing. But wait, we need to remember that Americans passionately accepted RRR so we can't say they don't understand or feel other cultures. Many people in America are so crazy about RRR so it shows they are very open to something new. So why so many Americans can't feel movies like K3G, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai or Kal Ho Naa Ho? Really hard to say but it's a pity. For many foreigners these are the best Indian movies. All in all, although I understand older Bollywood movies could confuse some foreigners, I must say I still was a little bit disappointed Syntell and Steph were so disconnected with KHNH and confused by it - they'd already seen so many Indian movies before watching this classic so I was expecting them to understand this story a little bit better. Syntell for example felt Bajrangi Bhaijaan deeply with his heart so I was expecting him to feel the sacrifice angle in KHNH better, Steph on the other hand was disconnected with the character of Pawan in Bajrangi Bhaijaan too - she misinterpreted his honesty and innocence as being a snitch :( It disappointed me a little bit too as Pawan is one of the most kindhearted and purest characters of Bollywood. It seems she still has a long way to go when it comes to understanding Indian movies. But I hope Syntell and Steph won't get hurt by the fact so many people got disappointed by their reaction to KHNH. This channel is really so so nice and I hope they keep exploring more and more Indian movies. But maybe sometimes they just need some guidance from Achara. :)
You can't love someone that much? Steph you've seen Veer-Zaara and these kinds of stories exist in real life too. I can't believe none of you cried watching THIS movie...But i understand the cultural differences...Brides cry a lot at their weddings in India+her situation is worse because Aman is going. Yes, its unfair to Rohit, but think about Aman and Naina's story, besides Rohit loves Naina and he is her best-friend. Imagine Rohit not being on Naina's side would have made the story even more tragic. And as she said in the last scene, she found a husband in her best friend.
i didnt expect syntell to cry although he did cry during bajrangi bhaijaan. steph just looked uncomfortable and confused the entire time. by far this is their worst reaction
Yeah! This was so disappointing. At least we know they give genuine reactions to movies. But I missed Achara so much when Steph was like "what, what ...what". She would have totally got all the sentiments of the movie.
Steph was like "what" the whole time😄. This movie is totally wasted in these two. I like their reactions always. But this time it hurt watching them react. Its fine people liking or not liking. Issue is they r so much into a shallow love stories that this movie's simplicity, the sentiments behind the movie was all lost. Im sad now.
It’s ok. It’s cultural difference. We,the people of subcontinent, think about everyone and everything before taking any decision. We sacrifice a lot for families and friends. We can give up anything for our loved ones. I think this is also one of the reasons why we are still in developing nation state. Most of us give up our personal growth thinking largely about the family or community. This isn’t common in the west. They are more like ‘Mah life, mah rules’😂. I am not saying one is greater than another but personally i prefer to sacrifice for my loved and dear ones even if it means to stop my own personal growth. This leads to great family and community relationships in the long run. ‘Swades’ movie was also based on this logic, that’s why westerners couldn’t relate to it. This is my opinion.
I'm happy this reaction exists! Of course, we'd want someone to enjoy something we love deeply. But getting a genuine reaction and putting it online means that not everything is fake. As a child when I watched this movie, I pitied Rohit liked anything. Why does Aman get to decide for everyone just because he's a dying man? Naina and Aman always look so.... platonic. But because of cultural nuances and dialogues, I sob so much. Aman dying gets me everytime. I LOVE THIS MOVIE nonetheless!
I don't think Aman was 'deciding' for them. He just brought out something which was deep down to the surface. He saw how Rohit cares about Naina the night of disco and made him realise that, while teaching Naina to open her heart to love. He never forced Naina to go to date with Rohit, she said Yes herself so she wanted that as well.
This is the best perspective of this reaction coz even I found their reaction annoying towards the end but everybody has a different view and this was their natural reaction better than being fake for sure
Someone let Steph and Syntell know about the whole ritual of Bidaai, that in a way is designed to be a teary send-off and everyone crying! Honestly, the first time I saw it play out in a wedding, I was so shocked and confused myself, coming from a family that doesn't have a Bidaai sorta thing in our weddings.
@@anantsharma6365 Actually no, people's emotions are always on the edge during weddings, especially in the bride side. Even on sangeet n all people shed tears.
@@ruchika_pal_kaur that part is true of all weddings across the world. Bridezilla concept exists too. But the concept of being sad and crying is almost exclusively Indian I guess. In other cases, it can be tears of joy, being overwhelmed, etc, but rarely you see people crying in sadness, including brides.
it's actually pretty common in Indian weddings for the brides to cry during their wedding just cuz it symbolizes "them being given away and like leaving their homes and families" and for her it's that plus I think she's also sad that her friend is literally going to die any moment now. Hard to be happy with that hanging over ur head.
Are women commodities to be given away? Poor choice of words if you ask me. "Sad because they are leaving their home" was enough to make sense. I agree with your next statement regarding the looming death of a friend/first love. But "them being given away"? dude... no! :)
To those who didn't comprehend the emotions... Aman loved Naina so much that he had to hurt her by rejecting her because he knew if he got together with her, she is gonna end up alone soon as he will be gone forever pretty soon. For her better future Aman acted that way to bring Naina and Rohit closer even though he was breaking into pieces himself. Not the easiest thing to do. Hence the tears. And.. Rohit loved Naina so much that he got married to her even after knowing that Naina loved Aman and probably Naina won't be able to love Rohit as much as she loved Aman. And Rohit considers Aman a really good friend too. So it's a very complicated situation for Rohit as well. Hence the tears. And... Naina is feeling torn between what her life could have been with Aman, that Aman loves her but hid it for her betterment, the fact that Aman is gonna die pretty soon, what her life will be with Rohit, how it will pan out.. and she is leaving her family and moving out, huge deal for Indians... hence the tears. And ofcourse how Aman transforms every character and makes them see life in better light.. hence the tears. Some jokes might not have aged well with time but it's still one of the greatest performances. Always taps into your emotions.
The main issue is that Steph and Syntell only saw it from Rohit's side and felt the story was unfair to him. There are really just 2 things they misunderstood: they thought Naina was sad to marry him and that years later she never fell in love with Rohit but the movie doesn't say that. Naina looked happy when she was with Rohit preparing her wedding. She only became sad when she learned Aman was dying. She doesn't cry because she wants to be with him at that point. She cries because he's dying. And yes there is an ambiguity around this love triangle and that's the strength of the story, it's not cringe, it's quite mature actually. She loves both of them 🤷♀️ Syntell thought it was cringe because he thought the movie was disrespecting Rohit but it's not the case. The comparison with Will Smith is interesting. The difference is that Jada is known to make comments that sound disparaging to her husband. But Naina was best friend with Rohit day before she even knew Aman, and both her and Rohit cared for Aman and vice versa. She did fall for Aman but he really just unblocked her emotionally and it can easily be argued he showed her that there was deeper feelings between her and Rohit. That's why he's compared to an angel. Nowhere does the movie imply she never truly loved Rohit. The movie says Aman was like an angel who made her realize her best friend was her life partner. She went from never wanting to marry to marrying her best friend and having a family with him. But Steph and Syntell didn't see that because they kept thinking the movie did Rohit dirty 🤷♀️ Also I would like to know their thought about widow(er)s remarrying. Because obviously the new partner wasn't the 1st choice and the widow(er) still loves the first partner. So would Steph and Syntell say it's cringe for them to remarry? The other thing they misunderstood is when Amana says Naina will be his in the next life. Again they thought it was super disrespectful to Rohit but this is a very common saying and many movies have had similar lines (Devdas and Raanjhanaa come to mind). Did they think "next life" meant heaven instead of reincarnation? Because I don't see what's offensive? KHNH was the 1st Indian movie I ever saw and even back then I saw nothing wrong in Aman saying that.
Finally someone who feels about this movie as how I felt when I saw the movie ...Its prolly more difficult to be Rohit in real life ..Rohit deserved better
Agreed! Never was a fan of this movie.. I just felt bad for Syntell and Steph, you can clearly see how much they were hesitant in expressing their true opinion on this movie, since they know it’s one of the “classics”
@@preet9843 I am a 90s adult dear, not a kid 🤣 and I still am not a fan of this movie.. just like you are entitled to express your opinion, I have the right to express mine.. you like it, good for you 👏🏼👍🏼

@Preet 9 how can we tell Radha to stop you dumba*s?😂 It's mythology n this movie is a well directed fictional romance. There is a difference. Radha was just another avatar of Lakshmi just like Krishna was of Vishnu. So they knew they were meant to be just not married. And Krishna 's other wives too were avatars of Lakshmi so in the end Vishnu still got together with Lakshmi. Also Radha not being with Krishna had some connection with ramayan. Get you facts checked before shoving mythology into everything
Movie went over their heads completely . The notion of love in India is totally different to that in America . Love in India revolves around sacrifice unlike in America. This is a very emotional movie .
I like the honest and practical reaction to this. I think a lot of Indians still see it with the nostalgic time of 2003's when the movie release. It did bring a very different genre of rom com in Indian film industry. Some aspects (like the homoerotic humour) may not have aged well and it's okay to admit it. We had a good time revisiting this film with you. Cheers and a happy new year!
This one is definitely a classic. The entire time Steph was like ‘WHAT’ but again I understand where you’re coming from. There are a lot of Indian references in this movie which I believe you did not understand. I guess that’s ok. Definitely would have loved for you to have loved this movie just like we have for decades now. Much love always 💜 You guys did great !
I'm from Germany KKKG AND KHNH made Indian films popular in Germany In 2004 SRK, Preity Zinta, Priyanka Chopra, Arjun Rampal and Celena Jaitley came to the Germany-Dortmund city for the first time and this was amazing show ( I was there) and so many german people were there and they play every songs from this movies also from Main hoon naa and every body knew this songs and nobody was siting every body dance OMG it was so loud
Indian films will always be different from other foreign language films because of so much emotion embedded in them; which can't be just translated through mere subtitles (that too awful subs most of the times). That's what makes our industry unique
This is an iconic movie of 21st century. No movie ever was made or would be made like one this. It drove generations to love.. Superstar was born in here
Rohit became my fav character when he said my love was enough for both of us during the proposal. He did all these evn knowing she was in love with someone else. Rohit loved Naina truly n unconditionally.
it is very very normal to cry on the wedding day for a bride because she is leaving her family and house and moving in to husband's house and plus srk is also dying... so yeah its very normal
Thank you for the reaction guys...it was honest💚 this movie is one of those Bollywood goldies which can be cringe at times but has a lot of heart...i don't know how to explain it but i can understand that if a person who is not Indian, saw this movie...he/she might be bewildered. Suggestion- So next time you guys are planning to watch an old Indian movie or an Indian movie with a lot of humour references, it would be best if Achara is around to help...as she grasps the idea, emotion and plot of the story in a different way😊
I cried like a river on this movie and these 2 are making me question my sentimental levels🙄. This was a worthful masterpiece to let your emotions out for.
This movie was one like a double edged sword. Its one of the first Bollywood movies i saw when i started watching Bollywood movies in general. At first i was a bit annoyed with Aman, but as the story progressed and his doctor came into the picture i started understanding where this sometimes OTT behavior came from. One moment he is nice, and one moment he is distant. Aman knew he had to push Naina away at some point. There was no other option in regards to his health. You wish you could lead normal life but you know you can't (or chances are low because of whatever)
The promise at last to aman was bcoz according to us ( hindu's) it is considered that the married couple will be together for 7 lives once married . and it is considered that love is for soul to soul so 2 love birds will be married again and again in every life if their love is true. "Saat janam ka sath"🤞
And that was really inappropriate to say that with your dying breath when you already pushed that guy to do your job because of your absence. It's cringe and psychotic .
Actually, crying at a wedding is pretty common. But here the situation is complex. So the guests in the wedding won't even ask why the bride is crying.
I think a HUGE difference between the general Desi audiences and Western audiences is the fact that SRK is such an adored and loved star, that we [Desi's] overlook the hurt and unfairness put on the character of Rohit. So while, these two are feeling bad for Rohit towards the end, us Desi's are just too busy feeling sad that SRK is dying to even realise or care about Rohit's feelings. Plus, the nuance of Indian brides ALWAYS crying on their wedding day regardless, was missed.
I agree with syntal on the cringe part. No matter how close i would have been to my friend, no way i would agree to marry her after knowing that she doesn't love me. I could have found a new suitable guy for her but never but never marry her.
@@saumyasinghai3899 Basically a friendzoned guy gets to marry his love because the one the girl loves couldn't make it. I am sure, this is true in real life as well. People settle ultimately, and yes can end up actually living happily even after all this mess. Not a situation I would want to be in though.
Honestly for the movie reactions that you all do, I always just see the movie reaction part (which I btw absolutely and truly enjoy) and then completely skip the review part for most of the movies due to my lack of patience. But this time I was soo confused as to why this movie was not hitting you emotionally as much as it did for us and for the very 1st time I was waiting for the review just to understand what was your perspective to it. And now after listening to it I kind of understand why and it did make sense. The example of Will Smith was mind blowing. Also Syntell's suggestion to a better ending where she says that she has learnt that her heart has grown to appreciate new love was also amazing. I mean as it was a movie everything just worked out. But in REAL LIFE such emotions and feeling can be too complicated for any person to deal with. I can see most of the people in the comment section are upset. To them, Before asking Jaby's team to better understand the movie and culture, 1st try and understand where they are actually coming from + for people who say don't look at it from Rohit's point of view...well a movie should do justice to all the characters in the movie and not just the lead ones..
Syntell's analogy to Will-Jada-Tupac was awesome! Even thought, I love KHNH I have similar gripe with the movie. They could have easily capitalized on Preity-Saif's chemistry (plus the backstory is set up as them being best friends already) and show that Naina genuinely fell in love with Rohit after having her heart broken by her first love, Aman. The ending could be Naina appreciating Aman's sacrifice and ensuring him that she is happy with Rohit thus making Aman's sacrifice worth it in a way.
Reaction is good, but for emotional moments/movies achara is the one who better understand dailogues and what is going on in movie. I'm literally in tears, even watching certain clips of movie in this cut down version. And "Kal Ho Na Ho" was the First movie which makes me to Cry and Second one was "Udham Singh"
@saewha n that's still an honest reaction. Much better than faking a reaction. It takes guts to be honest and authentic about your opinion when you're catering to an audience that only wants them to praise whatever they enjoy. If you want echo chambers then just ask your friends to react to things you like. However you would expect more honest reactions from reaction channels
Rohit was not done dirty, Aman was going to die, there was no point of Aman being there... There is no number 1 nd 2, Aman did a lot for both of them the level of sacrifice Aman did, moved Rohit... Nd Rohit got the girl he loved, Aman was someone who helped him win that love
Would have been much better for them to react to something more grounded like Veer Zaara with same duo of SRK and Preeti. They clearly didn't enjoyed this one Steph looked confused from the first part itself.
Fun fact: Kareena was initially offered the role of Naina, she backed out of the project because she was denied the fees she asked for. She asked for equal pay as Shahrukh, no doubt srk is a bigger star, but here Naina's character was the central point, but our industry being a patriarchal one got rid of women who try to fight for gender disparity. Thanks to today's generation, now actresses are getting more than actors if the role is such.
I feel like they kinda missed that Rohit cared for Aman, too. Aman wasn't just Naina's 1st love. He was Rohit's friend, as well. The final comment that Aman made was in reference to marriage beliefs in the Hindu community. It is believed that when a couple marries, they will reincarnate and remarry to each other for the next seven incarnations. What Aman is asking is for Rohit to promise him that, though in this life he got to marry Naina, Aman will be allowed his chance to love her in his next, hopefully healthier, life. Rohit agrees to this, not just because Aman is dying or Naina loves him, but because Aman sacrificed his own love to see Naina and Rohit happy. And, again! Aman is *also* Rohit's friend. Rohit is equally as heartbroken to see him go as Naina is. He was a blessing to them both. I also want to point out that, at the end, Naina tells us that, while all women hope to find a friend in their husbands, she found a husband in her best friend. And this may be a lost-in-translation sentiment, but what she's expressing, there, is that she found her true love in her best friend.
The comments here are hilarious. Syntell and Steph are breaking the movie down based on human emotions - not Indian vs Western sensibilities. Everyone here is hyping up just the sacrifice angle which is selfish, and you all need to learn to look at the bigger picture. Rohit had a bittersweet ending, and just because he ‘got the girl in the end’ doesn’t mean he’s happy or happy with the way things came about. He lost his dear friend, who was his wife’s first choice so there will always be an internal conflict and will think: What if Aman lived? Does Preity even love him? Is she only with him because he was the next best/safe option? Edit: Looking at Naina’s POV, she was passed around like a toy as if her only chance of being happy or having some sort of identity is only if she’s in love or married - if not Aman, then Rohit. I get that Aman was trying to be considerate but it would’ve been better for everyone to allow Naina to process Aman’s illness as well as Rohit’s love for her in her own time rather than being duped into a marriage she clearly was not ready for. She went from one dramatic household to instantly becoming a wife without any time in between for her to figure out exactly what she wants. She may have wanted to be with Rohit after all, we don’t know, but that decision should’ve come from her without any meddling.
good movie but for this time i don't like your reaction..and hey! crying on the wedding day is not only in the Indian community, but also in the Malay community (my race)..we feel sad because we are leaving our parents' house, we feel sad to start a new life You need to learn what sacrifice is, love. Asians are not taught by their parents to be selfish.
He didn't say "I'll get her in next life" He said "shes your in this lifetime, but remember (as a threat) that she will be mine in the next & every other lifetime ❤"
Love them both , but this reaction made it clear that no matter how exposed you're to our culture, you never really understand how we love other people , how strong our love is and to what extend we're ready to anything for the other person , the whole movie is based on this , they just didn't get it so Steph saying "What!" After every scene makes sense But I think if achara reacted to it along her she'd get the story cause achara would explain her , which is why you can see her connect with the movies like veer zaara etc . Anyways it is what it is , you can't be blaming them for not understanding something they're not used to ....
Obviously they can't be blamed but as a French person whose very first Indian movie was KHNH, it makes me think that Americans are just super weird lol. I didn't even love KHNH, it was a bit too melodramatic for me, I "only" liked it, but what's weird to me is how everything seemed to confuse Syntell and Steph... As a total newbie to Indian movies back then I did not find anything confusing in KHNH ??? I feel like there is a really big difference between Americans & Europeans when it comes to understanding other cultures...
"No one loves someone that much..." welcome to 90s and 2000s SRK. Also, a lot of things which seemed uncommon or odd are actually quite normal for the Indian audience - keep in mind this is in tune with mentality, sensibilities, and perspectives that the audience had 20 years ago. Literally before mass internet adoption and at-scale globalization. For example, a bride crying at her wedding is such a classic Bollywood trope - that for us, she is crying leaving her family but the audience gets the subtext that she is sad for Aman's near inevitable death. The Kantaben scenes... at that time, people made gay jokes and it wasn't as inclusive as it has now become. In SRK world, there wasn't a concept of relationships - you fell in love and were soul-bonded too that one person. The movie builds around this assumption by the audience. (Over time, we have all come to realize it is not healthy.)
in america, may be no one loves that much, but indian culture is different which u must accept it and respect and none should try to take undue advantage of it u are more considerate of materialistic things but indian culture, the oldest one is far beyond, its principles are based on dharma (karuna, samarpan, dharya and vishwas)
You guys don't understand some emotions shown in this movie..it was a gem to all of us..I guess Jaby and Achara totally understand the emotions of Indian people
I’m normally not one to loathe reactions but I feel like this movie and the connection to Indian roots, and all those emotions went over the heads of the reviewers lol
I think you need to consider that both of them are Indians in a foreign country ,so their bond/love is more thicker and stronger(if that makes any sense) that it can trudge along even if one of them had a life changing turu love experience for a while with someone else ..Also they never stopped being friends even when Aman was around.. So it's a different kind of thick strong cocktail of love and friendship bond that they share which doesn't fit the template....They grew up together, going to classes together ,seeing each other going through their lives in a foreign country ,sometimes questioning each other's choices and other times supporting each other getting so so used to each other in the process..
How can you feel sorry for Rohit when Aman is literally dying ..but again they were appreciating the background when kal ho na ho song was playing.. that says alot.. they didn't see Aman as a person.. they only cared about Rohit's emotion in the whole movie when there are two people who love each other but can't be together
Their reaction to last two parts show the cultural and viewpoint difference in bright light. I'm in no way complaining that why they don't get the sentiment and story cause I get where they come from. It's just the difference in culture is the reason the movie didn't hit you guys the way it hit most of the Indians if not everyone.
@@knowheregamerschronicles1 well my comment was never abut love marriage, I just said that there is a huge difference in how west and India look at notion of love and different customs and ways to celebrate same ideas like marriage and romance.
This movie was actually much more mature than any kjo film and manages to make kids cry. I watched the movie when I was 8, and I still felt every emotion. This kind of shows the reality of life where you can love two men at the same time. And love always doesn't have to be romantic. At first, Naina loved Aman romantically and loved Rohit, too, as a person. In the next half, she falls for Rohit and still loves Aman as a person. And yes, she is happy to be with rohit. She just misses Aman as a good memory.
Missed jaby and achara soo much during this reaction 😭 😫 they totally misunderstood the movie and in all the emotional scenes they were like 'what?'..in total confusion 🥲🥲

I don’t think Hollywood has any love story where one sacrifices their love for the person they love or for that matter both of them love each other hence you’re looking at a very surface level of this movie! Which is disappointing considering you’ve watched number of Indian movies by now.

Did jaby just changed his channel's name from "Jaby Koay" to "CineDesi"? For a second, I thought I was on the wrong channel. Edit - I wrote this comment before watching the short where jaby announced that he is changing name of his channel but he said it would be "masalas" but whatever. This is hilarious...the movie went over their heads...i am finding this so funny....i gotta say its interesting that this is the first time someone is seeing this movie from POV of Rohit as opposed to Aman's and Naina's POV
It's completely okay if they don't like the movie but this time their reaction was something else! They were confused by this simple yet beautiful movie that at one point I thought they're literally so dumb
Guys! Guys! Guys!!!! How can you miss the interaction between SRK and Sonali (the doctor)? He says if I die (leave Naina) she’ll be devastated because she thinks people who love her/ she loves, always leave (like her dad)
Even though Aman loved her, he knew he can’t hurt Naina like that.

I'm from Germany and I'm agree with you KKKG AND KHNH made Indian films popular in Germany
In 2004 SRK, Preity Zinta, Priyanka Chopra, Arjun Rampal and Celena Jaitley came to the Germany-Dortmund city for the first time and this was amazing show ( I was there) and so many german people were there and they play every songs from this movies also from Main hoon naa and every body knew this songs and nobody was siting every body dance OMG it was so loud
@@AriaIsara nonsense. Fake Id Indian
If they can't connect with the movie and can't like it then why are they even watching it???
Steph watched Veer-Zaara with a legend called Achara!🫡
i didnt expect syntell to cry although he did cry during bajrangi bhaijaan. steph just looked uncomfortable and confused the entire time. by far this is their worst reaction

@@kb_430 yeah. 🥺🥺
EXACTLY
I WAS LOOKING FOR THIS COMMENT - EXACTLY.
It only happens in Reel life 😂 Not real life especially in India 😂🤦
This is the best perspective of this reaction coz even I found their reaction annoying towards the end but everybody has a different view and this was their natural reaction better than being fake for sure

Well said! So disappointed with their reactions. They didn’t understand the emotions. I miss Achara
I totally agree with syntel. I don’t know how he came up with such a relating example. He understood in a deeper level what rohit might have felt. Wow
She loves both of them 🤷♀️
Syntell thought it was cringe because he thought the movie was disrespecting Rohit but it's not the case. But Steph and Syntell didn't see that because they kept thinking the movie did Rohit dirty 🤷♀️
Also I would like to know their thought about widow(er)s remarrying.

I've never seen an Indian wedding where the bride didn't cry fr
I think a HUGE difference between the general Desi audiences and Western audiences is the fact that SRK is such an adored and loved star, that we [Desi's] overlook the hurt and unfairness put on the character of Rohit.
So while, these two are feeling bad for Rohit towards the end, us Desi's are just too busy feeling sad that SRK is dying to even realise or care about Rohit's feelings.
Plus, the nuance of Indian brides ALWAYS crying on their wedding day regardless, was missed.
Exactly it was like our srk diessss in the movie that kind off
Who all want achara to react this movie🤚
Ngl i would watch again for her😌
I agree with syntal on the cringe part. No matter how close i would have been to my friend, no way i would agree to marry her after knowing that she doesn't love me. I could have found a new suitable guy for her but never but never marry her.
Naina actually loved Rohit..though not as much as she loved Aman because he was her first love..first love is obviously difficult to forget..
The background music of this film is still used in reality shows when the participant is eliminated😂😂😂 wayed whaaaaaaid
😂😂😂
Honestly, it's how our films shows/portraits emotions and the whole India cried when Aman character died.
i don't know why but whenever I hear steph saying What? i just start laughing
Guys guys guys what what what 😂😂😂 thats was the commentary during almost whole movie
Plse watch OM SHANTI OM you won't regret it 💪🏻🙂
Seriously?
YESSSS in my opinion it's SRK's best
They already did
Agreed its worst 😂
Pathetic choice
Reaction is good, but for emotional moments/movies achara is the one who better understand dailogues and what is going on in movie.
I'm literally in tears, even watching certain clips of movie in this cut down version.
And "Kal Ho Na Ho" was the First movie which makes me to Cry and Second one was "Udham Singh"
This is my all time fav movie. And loved your reaction because it's genuine and honest. Love ❤
@saewha that's still a reaction. 🤷♂️
That girl next to syntal , has just one dialogue that is ,"whaaaaaattt"
Rohit was not done dirty, Aman was going to die, there was no point of Aman being there... There is no number 1 nd 2, Aman did a lot for both of them the level of sacrifice Aman did, moved Rohit... Nd Rohit got the girl he loved, Aman was someone who helped him win that love
Jaby sneeking in background 😂😂😂😍😍 cute
Would have been much better for them to react to something more grounded like Veer Zaara with same duo of SRK and Preeti. They clearly didn't enjoyed this one Steph looked confused from the first part itself.
Steph and Achara already reacted to Veer Zaara..
Veer Zara already reacted but that videos have not well edited ,my favourite movie veer zara but they ruined it for patreon
They already have
@@chewy9936 Yeah I remember now.... Syntell hadn't .
@@juanmata2131 are you manchester united or chelsea fan?
Steph through out the movie- Waiyyyyyyy, whaaaaaa - Come Aaann , I am syoo confyooooseddd!
But preity zinta was the main role others were supporting role don't you get it she's telling the story in the movie about her life in the movie
Oh ya kareena rejected a dharma movie thats such a lie
Steph saying whaaaaat for the whole movie
Just realized y’all got a new channel name! It’s pretty cool btw
Fr this comment section is so toxic
Finally ! This!
Wow you’re making too much sense for this audience lol
Jaby is changing his channel's name on a daily basis now🤣
good movie but for this time i don't like your reaction..and hey! crying on the wedding day is not only in the Indian community, but also in the Malay community (my race)..we feel sad because we are leaving our parents' house, we feel sad to start a new life You need to learn what sacrifice is, love. Asians are not taught by their parents to be selfish.
He didn't say "I'll get her in next life"
He said "shes your in this lifetime, but remember (as a threat) that she will be mine in the next & every other lifetime ❤"
Love them both , but this reaction made it clear that no matter how exposed you're to our culture, you never really understand how we love other people , how strong our love is and to what extend we're ready to anything for the other person , the whole movie is based on this , they just didn't get it so Steph saying "What!" After every scene makes sense
But I think if achara reacted to it along her she'd get the story cause achara would explain her , which is why you can see her connect with the movies like veer zaara etc .
Ibdias far less love stories than America in real life,Sati was a part of india and still is in some places, what are you being hypocrite about?
They gave their best ,not everyone can understand everything.Specially foreigners .It's already a good reaction
Jaby cameo was the best 🤣
Thank you for the honest reaction and for not faking it..
The HOUSE is cool seriously
We need Achara now for Kal Ho Na Ho. 😄
in america, may be no one loves that much, but indian culture is different which u must accept it and respect and none should try to take undue advantage of it
u are more considerate of materialistic things but indian culture, the oldest one is far beyond, its principles are based on dharma (karuna, samarpan, dharya and vishwas)
If I had a dime for everytime Steph said "What"...dear lord. Needed Achara on this one.
This is when the typical Asian emotions comes in. That's why Achara is perfect for this movie.
America has more love marriages than india .
Guess who :

Can someone compile all the “what”s of Steph in all the parts of the reaction, it would be hilarious😂
Drinking game:
Take a shot every time Steph goes “Whaaat” and looks confused
i understand you're confused but it came across a bit annoying and rude when steph kept saying WHAT?? at every scene. in indian weddings, its common to cry because the bride moves away from her family. its also tears of joy too
Crying is actually like a ritual which is done post wedding.. because girl is leaving her family behind
I don’t think Hollywood has any love story where one sacrifices their love for the person they love or for that matter both of them love each other hence you’re looking at a very surface level of this movie! Which is disappointing considering you’ve watched number of Indian movies by now.
Well that means you haven't watched actual Hollywood movies.
