Played this today (8/5/21) for the 1st time in very tough conditions, but what an absolutely stunning golf course, will defo be back

This place is magnificent. We played 36 there. Looks like it’d 100 years old - it is not! That is how magnificently the course has been designed and constructed. We played decent golf in heavy winds gusting up to 40 miles an hour. We all shot in low 80’s but one of us shot even par in these conditions which was a magnificent round to watch. We go in for lunch and the caddies who wanted to be with for the second round must have talked to the master or pro because the next thing we know, Clive Clark is at our table commending us on good golf and sat with us to discuss the course and our impressions. It was a special day for us all. Clark is an accomplished pro golfer and a bloody good golf architect, a bit of a legend (although I’m certain he would cringe me saying that). He is a total class act and a real gentleman. It was a memorable day and we were privileged he spent time with us. Besides St Andrews we all agreed Dumbarnie Links is a must play. Biggest disappointment, kingsbarn which in my opinion is a links curse built for Americans. Not worth the $ and certainly can’t hold a candle to Dumbarnie. I highly recommends it.

It was just great - even in a 3 club wind - but doubly difficult when the rain arrived.
