Depends on what part of NJ. There are great trails all throughout with different levels for all riders. the app, trailforks, is the best place to start. In North Jersey you have some real nice flat trails like the columbia trail or the greenway in roxbury to just get out and get comfortable on the bike. If you want more trail riding, then you have Dickerson Mine, Lewis Morris, and the Tourne. But check trailforks to find trails closest to you.
Enjoying your videos and trails! Did the new bars and stem make a big difference for you? I have an x-caliber 8 and bought the same bars/stem prior to seeing your videos for the same reasons. Also looking for some red grips to go with Trek’s radioactive red paint scheme, would you recommend?
Yes I recommend. I’m gonna do some short review videos to talk about my experience so far but they have been great for stability, control, and positioning on the bike. Also my worry that I’d be pulling my front tire up more on climbs was not a valid worry for me. My front tire actually stays put more because of better overall positioning for me on the bike.
I've been looking at the ripmos. Also a big fan of the Jeffsy and a few other bikes. Still haven't decided and wanted to make it through the holidays before a big purchase. We'll see what happens.
New subscriber over from Reddit. I'm a fellow Marlin 7 rider so I'd hate to lose you from the community but understand that you can only push the Marlin so far before it leaves you broken! Did the tubeless thing ever work out? I hope so. I had the same troubles but eventually got it to work and riding at 23 psi. That and the dropper post completely changed my bike's personality.
I am looking at a full suspension bike, but thinking I will keep the Marlin 7 also. I do like a hard tail. I have not gone back to finish the tubeless setup. I'm running about 30PSI with the tubes. As the weather gets colder I should have more time to get the tubeless setup working.... until snowboard season begins. I would agree that adding a dropper really changed the way i was able to ride the bike. Thanks for watching!
@@DadTechTV I commented in one of your older videos about having Ardent 2.25s on mine. I went tubeless in late spring using Gorilla tape and some pink stuff I got from the LBS.
Noice vid DAD! awesome trail too 🤘
Thank you. Appreciate the feedback.
What would be a good first mtb trail to go to in nj

Did you end up going tubeless on those tires with the stock bontrager connection rims?
Not yet. Haven’t had a chance to go back to it. I figure with the winter coming I’ll have some time.
Under $5k? Take a look at the Ibis Ripmo AF and Ripley AF.
