  • As a fan of Merrell's Hydro Moc I knew these would be an instant cop for me. They are definitely more rugged and durable than the Hydro Moc, while still having good flexibility on foot. I haven't taken them out on the trail yet but I feel they would hold up nicely on any outdoor adventure. Not sure how the liner will stand up to water yet but I think they're supposed to be removed when water is involved anyways. I'm liking how Merrell is experimenting with the Hydro Moc, similarly to what Crocs does with some of their collabs. I'm sure we'll see more Hydro Moc variations in the future. Retail is $170.
    Sizing:
    Update - I didnt want them to be too big when wearing without the liner inserts so I had actually went true to size like the normal Hydro Mocs. They are snug but not too tight with the liner inserts and socks. You can also purchase versions of these without the liner for cheaper ($130). Then you can choose from different liners to buy separately, like a Gore-Tex version.

    thanks for your video mate. Can i ask how comfy these are without the sockliner? the outsole looks more rugged, wondering if if it means its more firm/harder than the standard hydro mocs.

    • @SuprDpp
      @SuprDpp  11 місяців тому +2

      Yes the sole feels like a really tough rubber with barely any cushioning, so without the sockliner it's definitely not as comfy as regular hydro mocs. It's not like walking on bricks or anything but probably not the best for long hikes without socks or the sockliner.

    Hey! I really appreciate the review. How easy are these to clean? I’m considering the white ones, but want o be mindful of them getting wrecked lol

    • @SuprDpp
      @SuprDpp  11 місяців тому

      Thanks! I havent worn them enough to need any serious cleaning yet but the outer shell is fairly easy to rinse off. The fabric part of the sockliner will probably be the worst to clean. Would probably have to machine wash the liner, or maybe use some sotchguard or something.

    On the fence with these. We do a lot of creek hikes in the summer and I'm looking for something that isn't going to let all the sand and tiny rocks in. Any suggestions (preferably Merrell)

    • @SuprDpp
      @SuprDpp  Рік тому +1

      Maybe something like the Hydro Runner... Its has breathable mesh that would probably be good to at keeping out sand and rocks

    I usually wear my shoes 1 size bigger cause i like the proportions of the shoes size with my body and it feels comfortable. Do you think laces and belt can hold my feet that one size smaller?

      they do. I was gifted them a size up from my shoe size and I've just tightened the straps and they fit super snug

    Did I understand correctly that the sole is stiff, the toes will always point up and it doesn't bend much?

    Do you think they are comfortable for travel?? they look comfortable and easy to take off at the airport. What about the size if you are half like 9.5?? Nice video

    • @bigt3487
      @bigt3487 Рік тому +2

      I literally bought mine to travel with. They’re as easy to take off as they look. Just a slip off. So 10/10 on that.
      Sizing…I’m a 7 in kids and men, got a 7 fits perfectly. They’re Too big to wear like without the sock they come w which is what the reviews said I could do when I researched them but it really isn’t a problem for me for me because I like them better w the sock. Also they squeak.

    • @SuprDpp
      @SuprDpp  Рік тому +1

      Thanks for watching! Yes would definitely say they're good for travel. Size 10 would probably be fine if wearing with socks and/or the sock insert because they would be too big without. I would size down to 9 if you don't plan on wearing the sock/sock insert.

    First time buying Merrell, I’m a size 10.5 and usually get 11 nike af1 for comfortable fit. What size you recommend if I want to get Merrell 1TRL without liners

      Without liners? Should probably size down. I would say 10

    Does anyone know if the black ones that came out come with the sock liner too? On Kiths webstore the photos of them don’t have it with the sock liner

    • @SuprDpp
      @SuprDpp  11 місяців тому

      There's actually 2 versions Merrell sells, one with the sockliner and one thats just the cage. They starting selling different types of sock liners so you can customize. Kith is probably just selling the one version

      Yeah just checked too and looks like they got rid of the liners, or they're out of stock. I found these but thats about it:

      I did notice some squeaking but not enough to be a dealbreaker. I dont forsee wearing them anywhere where I need to be quiet. I have nylon pants that are noisier than any shoes I own 😅You just get used to it

      @SuprDpp  Рік тому

      @@christiandnl I went true to size for both and they fit about the same when not wearing the liner. With the liner it's more snug but they're not constricting. They're really flexible
