Yes...when food is available, you need to stockpile all you can. That is how the Native Americans survived through the harsh winters when many food sources become scarce or non-existent. I think he just lacked the motivation to endure the hardship. In other words, he doesn't want and need the money that much. They need to find contenstants who are both skilled survivalist AND are hungry for the win. otherwise we will keep getting this unsatistying premature tap outs .

God made us social creatures. Even if you are alone, you will be talking to something...yourself, a tree, a pet wildlife animal, a rock, etc. No one truly is mentally prepared to be alone forever in its truest, purest form.
I wouldn't pay a dime for indoctrination by a bushcraft/survival teacher who does not have the mental courage to keep fighting as long as physically able.

I used to love this show. Every season I still get pumped when its coming..... and Im not sure why because its such a let down now. It should be called "Whiners" not "Alone". Every episode is just listening to people whine and absolutely nothing about survival. The winner is always He/She who whines the least smh. Its getting really really old.

I began liking Randy… but what a disappointment. He is arrogant and so in love with himself he doesn’t really even try to endure. More interested in walking around in his underwear then truly surviving. Where did they find this guy.
It's too bad the History Channel didn't think ahead on this and you go as long as you on the show alone you go as long as you can then you call and tap out while the last person standing goes the still going as long as they can they don't know everyone else's quit until they tap out and then they find out hate you won the money you didn't have to be out here the whole year and a half they all quit 2 months in
Randy had the best shelter, by far! The guy that won, had the worst shelter and never caught any fish. Mind over matter won.
