It was great to see Tommy let the mouse go without causing damage to the mouse! I love how he's very gentle with wildlife, big or small! It's a risqué job but someone has to do it And of course, the Disney references for the occasion, or every occasion in Tommy's case!
Seeing Tommy releasing a mouse from a "no-kill" trap (for lack of better description) reminds me of when I saw the mousetraps that were in the 1950 Cinderella film at the Cobblestone Museum over in Albion when I was a 4th Grader in 1994. I would later do research on those mouse traps when I was in 8th grade when I found out they were actually rat traps. Tommy did such a wonderful job saving that mouse! I recall how I had pet mice when I was 15...they were a hassle to take care of. I remember my sister and her friend named two of the mice after two famous cartoon mice (Jerry from Tom & Jerry and Speedy Gonzales from Looney Tunes). The mice were intended for a science project my sister was doing for her class in school. While at lunch today, I thought about Tommy and I was remembering a medical drama on NBC called St. Elsewhere. In the final episode of St. Elsewhere, the final scene showed Donald Westphall coming home and sees his son whose name happens to be Tommy (surprise!) shaking a snow globe. The final shot shows the snow globe...and I'll just let you see the St. Elsewhere final scene on UA-cam if you don't believe me. -Andrea
