Hi Mr K thanks for this video its great to hear the bells again, i used to live at the bottom of Adelaide Street just down from St James church when i was a kid and the sound of the bells brings back many happy Memories of playing in the back street and hearing them, again many thanks and best wishes to you all.

I was in the choir there back in the early 1970s.. I love that place lots of happy memories thank you for posting it! We are the best bells in the town! The Rev DC Crook was the vicar! Great guy!
Excellent video. I heard these bells many times as a kid in the 50's. They practiced on a Saturday night anf they sounded out over Barrow. I wonder if that still happens. This is the first time that I have seen inside the spire and at the bells themselves. Well done. Edit - Forgot to congratulate your excellent guide.
Another very interesting video. You will be in good shape soon if you keep climbing all these towers! I made an audio recording of Mr. Whitten playing the organ at St. James church in 1964 but never had any video to go along with it for UA-cam.

Jeff, my grandmother’s last name was Hodgson! And I was a kid in the 50’s.
we now practice on Wednesdays at half 7 till 9 pm we ring for special events and services and a lot more
