Some elements of this reminded me of Behemoth. Other elements reminded me of post hardcore. I think this album is going to be a banger. We’ll have to see.
I would only say a bit of metalcore in there sound in the same way Gorgoroth have done in the past. As personally I no longer would put people still call Trivium metalcore, but listening to them at around the same time as a bit of gorgoroth and there are some similar sounding riffs and the gorgoroth songs were older. So maybe it's a bit more melodic death metal rather than metalcore sounding consider Matt heafy is a fan of black metal and melodeath. Also there is a good chance members of gorgoth like some melodeath.
