I love my 23' BRZ. I live in Vancouver and did a Oregon/California coastal trip to LA. Went to Grand Canyon had a blast on parts of route 66. I just recently went to Portland to see the Warriors popped down to the coast and had fun with 2 718's near Cannon Beach.
I was visiting Sedona last October, which was really beautiful BTW, and all the time I was driving in Oak Creek Canyon with our Rav4, I was wishing I was in my 2024 BRZ. As you know there's a series of switchbacks between Sedona and Flagstaff that would be all too much fun in the BRZ. Thanks for posting this!
I just picked up my 2025 gr86 prem MT a couple days ago. This car is so much fun. I think those who say its slow are either jaded because speed has been comodified or coping because they paid 60k+ to go a couple seconds faster than you in a straight.
Love that road. In the 2000s I used to lap up and down that road at night and have a lot of fun. Nobody knew about it back then, and there was no traffic. Or trash...
The new BRZ has a comparable 1/4 mile to an S2K, but no one is constantly calling them slow, now anyways. I do remember when the S2K was still being sold new, and at that time everyone did call it slow, and people always did say it was overpriced, and just get a Miata because it's basically the same thing. Funny how things change once cars are out of production. Same may be true for the BRZ in 20 years.
I just went to the Belgian car show and it's pretty depressing what modern cars will be like in the coming years. 10 variations on a single boring chassis across 7 brands in the same group kinda stuff. Ferrari and Lamborghini etc. are of course exceptions. But we'll never get something like this again for this price except maybe the MX-5
@ btw, random question. Do you get a squeak when resting your foot on the dead petal? Maybe I put too much pressure on it, but when I move my foot on the dead petal in my BRZ it squeaks (and I only got it in October, there’s like 2k miles on it)
@ I don’t think it’s the shoes for me, the dead petal was giving in a bit if you push down, I think it’s just cheap material underneath. Might see if I can take off the clips and see what’s underneath

Yeah, it’s so much fun! Those people have clearly never driven a fun car 😄
You're absolutely right!

@@ShengNotShane excellent point. Gotta appreciate it while it here.
Great video, but why are we constantly regurgitating the "ITS sO Slow!" fallacy. Since when is 0-60 in the mid 5's slow?
right. electric cars ruined all the actual fun

@ I do! I was wondering the same thing. I think it’s just our shoes and the dead pedal is new? Not sure but it’s annoying 😂

Yeah dude let me know. I’m curious.
