This is so wild! I never really understood the whole turbo thing, I just got a BRZ this year and I want this kit now. Hope for a install guide video someday.
My have the times changed. Car and Driver recorded a 0-60: 5.4 secs and 1/4 mile: 13.9 @ 102mph, for this car. Just 10 years ago that was considered quite acceptable and 15+ years ago, down right fast. I own a 665whp 2jz s14, and this BRZ, stock is still quite respectable. I love BRZ/GR86 for their purity. My hope is the FA's can hold up with the boost 👍
I’ve seen so many turbo GR86/BRZ’s, but i’ve never seen one actually run a drag race and time it. I didn’t personally get the BRZ to run fast 1/4 mile times, but if someone’s gonna turbo theirs, I want to see the numbers. I was hoping I would see it here.
Currently with this set up, they're running mid 12s down the 1/4 mile. We have a pt 2 coming in a few months, where the boost will be turned up, at approx 400 kW aiming for 10s down the 1/4 mile. Plans to document that night and upgrades are in place 😊
This is the best kit for the gt86. That guy is funny the turbo is clocked that way for airflow. This is probably the best aftermarket kit. It looks like it takes into account airflow to a greater degree than other kits, the bends aren't as rough as other kits. Like it's not shoddily made or placed there for excellent fitment just great compromise.
I like that put some thought into oil starvation issues and supply a baffled sump with what looks to be extended capacity as well. Other brands just have u drill and install a fitting into stock pan
Nice video and Nice car but fyi 13:50 the auto trans is NOT rated for 650nm. It uses the A960E transmission which is taken from Toyotas lexus models. Toyotas official documentation rates the torque limit of the gearbox at 300nm and i can confirm that number checks out. Been running a turbo on my auto 86 for years now. It works fine at 300nm and under. However once you go over that, after a couple months you will start to get slippage in the transmission as the clutchpacks start to wear out, you will also experience slow shifts, eventually the transmission will give up and break completely depending on how often and how hard you drive it. Its more a matter of "when" than "if". The fix for this would be a valvebody upgrade. But yea 100% the auto handles power more "cheaply" compared to the manual which is straight up made of glass
8psi might seem low but it’s all about how efficient the turbo flows air , although I find it very hard to believe that this is making the power it states with the stock mods . Like to see proper 100 to 200 times
Its all in tuning more than anything youve got about tikl 350whp in the first gens stock motor before things can fail. I imagine the secons gen is mildly better so not suprising. Ive got 112k miles on my KW supercharged first gen BRZ with no issues, its definitely possible
Crazy how responsive the fa24's are to mods, insane to think these naturally aspirated with e85, exhaust and intake can make as much as a conservative tuned turbo kitted fa20 brz/gt86.
269kw is 360 horsepower in the USA. IDK how they claim to make that kind of power on a stock fuel system. Every other company has found the car runs out if fuel before that. Harrop a praised Australian OEM manufacturer has a supercharger that makes only 306HP and supplies their kit with a replacement fuel pump. Most tuners recommend doing injectors above 320HP as well. There just isnt enough wiggle room left they say. What makes this different?
Years of developing all the piping, bends, intercooler, sensors, pipe sizes and quality etc as well as perfecting the tune over at PVS in Sydney. It wasnt an over night project, they've been working on turbocharging this platform for over a decade.
@MrDuongTV1 I mean that sounds great, but HP\TQ comes down to the amount of air getting in the engine. "X" amount of air requires "Y" amount of fuel at the proper ratio. That is universal standard. No matter how the pipes are bent or how the sensors are tweaked, 360HP will need the same amount of fuel to make that kind combustion happen. Either everyone else is being way too cautious or these guys are pushing the pump\injectors to the limits. Personally, I would add a bigger pump and injectors for no reason other than " etter safe than sorry."
How would the turbo kit work on the subaru BRZ? I think they jave a different transmission to the Toyota one. Would you just detune the tubro further and keep the gearbox and transmission stock?
@@MrDuongTV1Most people with turbo set ups go for wider wheels due to traction issues, crazy to think that your on stock wheels, I will probably turbo first and tires later so that I can properly gauge how much grip I want. great video nonetheless💪 looking forward to pt 2 🤙

Toyota/subaru failed the enthusiast's by keeping a garbage gearbox in these things. They could've built the last ever "hero" cars akin to the s13-s15 and r32-r34 era if these had a decent box and factory turbo.
