First one is false😂 i LIVE in Finland and they Do expect you to know about the cold. They dont give out wintter gier, the rent skiing equipment and snow shoes but not boots and jackets. Just pack your gear.
Well, you can rent everything and sometimes it’s included in the hotel or activity costs. It’d be stupid to buy the gear if you are just visiting and don’t need it otherwise.
That thing about sunscreen isn't really true. I mean UV index is 0 in the winter and theres only like 0-4h of sunlight anyway and you are fully covered in clothing. Face usually as well with a balaclava or a scarf. Sunglasses tho absolutely necessary snowblidness is a real and extremely bad make sure the sunglasses are dark its the light that harms not so much the UV light like in summer.
@@blank14976 ohhhh ok!! I thought your body just adjusted to such cold that it didn’t matter if it was -30 or 10 degrees it all felt the same. Lapland is sooooo on my bucket list!! I really do hope to visit one day! It looks like such a magical place. 😊
@@idknow2462I live in Lapland. You don't need sunscreen but sunglasses are a must. Snowblindness is a real and serious problem. Make sure they are dark sunglasses as well it's the light and brightness that's the problem not the uv light.
For 2, there is sometimes Revontulivahti, who wakes people up if they see the northern lights. The person stays up all night to wait.
Sweden need that sort of guys. This is what makes Finland a bit better then Sweden.
@@gustannunneb1871yes though sweden is ever so lovely, our cold is miserable in wales. haha

i've never used sunscreen in lapland. also, a /normal/ hotel won't have winter gear included.
That’s lovely ❤
