I'm sick of Roald Dahl being raked over the coals. My children grew up on his books; we loved them; and none of us are racist, anti semitic, bigoted, etc.
I grew up loving his work and it’s fair to say I don’t hate any group of people…except those who think they have the authority to edit the books of a dead man. He was no saint, pretty far from it, but leave the books alone.
They're saying this about a man who worked in Africa, took great respect towards the locals, hated the fact he had to kill people in war, and treated his boy (servant) like a son? Ah. No.
Its not racist his books are great. I love his books . It's not racism its just society right now . If they don't like his books or his words its their problem.
I truly feel absolutely disgusted, that a group of people would EVER think that it is okay to diminish or delete an author’s voice after they have died. I think it’s both derogatory, rude, and disrespectful towards the wishes of those authors who would’ve respected to state that if they are against censorship; then it is clear that their books should NEVER BE TOUCHED ON! Not matter if there are sensitive material in it that may offend certain groups of people. The only simple explanation that I can give to those who are easily offended, would be to simply not read any of their work! But the offended always get pissed when their needs are not met. But that’s the thing. We don’t have to appease those who are offended, and those who are; well then there’s the door, and you can leave. Their works-especially Roald Dahl, while he may not have been a perfect person in life, there is no doubt that his books have continued to touch and inspire the lives of children after many many years after his death in 1990. Dahl went on quote with one of his friends about censorship, and he said “I've warned my publishers that if they later on so much as change a single comma in one of my books, they will never see another word from me. Never! Ever!”
You should not be able to change an authors stories. If you don't like them don't read them it's that simple. People need to grow up and get some thick skin back
Roald Dahl is an inspirational hero of literature. This world has been corrupted by made up vulgar vulnerability. All in efforts to silence the great minds of our past. Your opinion is worthless until you conform. Any one who knows this fantastic brilliant author, very well understands that Roald Dahl despised conformity. Gods how the Greatest Authors have given their lives in values of lessons and noble sacrifice. JRR Tolkien, George RR Martin, CS Lewis, JK Rowling, Andrzej Sapkowski, Steven Erikson, Frank Herbert, Brian Jacques. As a writer myself in hopes of getting published. Writing is one of the hardest adventures you can ever possibly attempt.
What the hell, everyone back then was racist, times are changing and you can’t just call out someone from the past for doing something bad because what he did was common back then

Most of us hate someone/people quite rather a lot... we just don't admit. Nothing wrong with it... hate, fear, intense dislike... all very human... it's harmless mostly unless you are also psychotic nutjob. I do too... I hate an ethnic group from my country that I've lived among most of my life, I intensely hate Christians having been torturously been brought up as one, I intense dislike having been born human, and it's fine. I have worked through my existential crises' and made my peace. I can hate without being hateful. That's the delightful contradiction of human existence. Let go... don't think too much, you'll pull a brain muscle and go psychotic.

You are probably a white Christian?
Darwinists are crypto-racists.
What racist past? why aren't they giving details?
Exactly
I grew up loving his work and it’s fair to say I don’t hate any group of people…except those who think they have the authority to edit the books of a dead man.
He was no saint, pretty far from it, but leave the books alone.
For crying out loud, whilst just as bad, xenophobia is not the same as racism, why do people have a hard time distinguishing the two?
Half the world's population is stupid and can't think for themselves, they been told its the same so what can we expect?
They're saying this about a man who worked in Africa, took great respect towards the locals, hated the fact he had to kill people in war, and treated his boy (servant) like a son? Ah. No.
The museum and family should stop accepting money from the late Roald Dahl's work if they find the author so reprehensible.
Thats a nightmare
they should apologize for editing the books, the new King should banned book revising already
The best thing about the past... It can from time to time be left there.
It's a shame, but it was a different time. Hopefully we can progress beyond blaming others for our problems.
Well if they have an issue, just don’t accept money from his books & don’t read them
humans are flawed and countries even more, the UK is the last country to stand against racism
Its not racist his books are great. I love his books . It's not racism its just society right now . If they don't like his books or his words its their problem.
FFS who cares
Possibly the Jewish population.
So which is it, racist or anti Semitic, or non of the above?

He said NOTHING WRONG. All his criticisms against i s r a e l were 100% valid and even revelatory.
What were his points
