Achuwa actually did the best job defending against Embid in the playoffs. Even better than Robinson or Hartenstein. So i’m ok with Robinson, Sims, Hukporti, & possibly Achuwa as the Center Positions. If they can add in another center, fine, but we will get an idea of how good Ariel Hukporti is in a few weeks during the Summer League games.

Achuiwa is a bad PF, he misses wide open layups, he has no shot, gets cooked by everyone, small and tall…
Only thing he has is that he hustles and he can “try” to defend all heights.
I loved his hustle at times, but his inefficiency was disgusting. He is not a backup player on a Championship team.
We will learn nothing about Hukporti from Summer League !!!!

@@markd5727precious can’t guard embiid like he said and that’s a fact. Our best defensive moment was when OG picked him up from the perimeter and had him struggling to get to his spot after that moment our best line of defense was Mitch not precious. Precious is great during one on one key matchups vs agile Pfs and bigs. He struggles against good PGs and physical bigs in the P&R actions.. perfect example was when we played Golden state and Tom had to take him out cause he was getting cooked. Precious is a good back up PF but not a center. He’s not someone you trust as a backup center for key minutes

Much like you mentioned, the Knicks really need to get their center position squared away first, that needs to be the focus.
But yeah, Kyle Lowry can kind of be that extra insurance policy that puts the Knicks over the edge. He does have a championship pedigree after all.
No, no, no, & No… 🤦🏻♂️, why would any Knick fan want a ball hog on the team that will mess the pace & transition of the ball movement up?.. Besides that he did nothing to help Philly out when the Knicks defeated them. we have more than enough guards. All we need now is a Big Man Center or at least resign Achuwa.

Dude there is nothing wrong with the Knicks bench. We have arguably the most skilled 2nd Line players in the whole league. The same roster that almost led us to the eastern conference finals. Now with Bridges, a returning OG Anunoby, a returning team lead scorer in Julius Randle, & a few new talented rookies. The Knicks squad is stacked.

Once upon a time Lowry was linked to NY in a trade scenario with Houston. That was when I was little
Hes a guy who impacts the game without needing the ball in his hands. He can literally come in and make 3-4 momentum shifting plays: charge, strip, knock down an open 3. He wont fill up that stat sheet, but those plays are back breakers when its coming from a third string guard.

Tyus Jones is also a free agent, so if we end up having to trade Deuce for a Center (which is a possibility), I'd definitely prefer Tyus over Kyle!
I believe the final Deal for Mikal kept Knicks from being hard capped at 1st apron, this means they would still have their preexisting trade exceptions available; which is likely what they will be using to try and obtain Kessler or Richards. They can resign Precious over the cap since they have his bird rights, but they likely first will use the taxpayer mle to sign a piece like lowry or another pf/c as extra insurance.
Our biggest need securing a center. Lowery is a good player but not now.
