This was the first-ever AT40 year-end countdown I listened to. I remember the radio station played it at 6pm on New Year's Eve and played it until 2am. Then they restarted again at 2am! I woke up at 10am New Years Day to tape all my fav songs from that countdown!
1985 was the year I graduated preschool at the E. Ethel Little School in North Reading, MA, & started kindergarten at the Wildwood School in Wilmington, MA. 28:25........................."All Through The Night" will always be a very special song to me as it was one of the first songs we heard on the radio of our brand new 1985 Dodge Colt Vista as we were driving it home after taking delivery of it from the now defunct Burlington Dodge in Burlington, MA the the fall of 1984.
1:01:06 This to me is the most interesting discrepancy (I think) between a song being #1 on the year-end chart and a song being the most bought AND most played. We Are the World is only #20 because its success was so intense that it failed on the criterion of chart duration. I think people understand that as a factor, but not usually to this extreme. I certainly would have guessed at a closer correlation if asked before seeing the chart, but I understand the math.
Fun Times!!!! I turned 18 in the summer of '85. ❤❤❤❤
Most of these songs of this year really made me emotional
