If your a guitar player ...this is school..straight up..I watch daily there is so much going on with these 2 players they cover it all! rhythm, tasteful fills, partial chord licks, great sole work covering the chords and staying the pocket..Get your masters degree!!! This is such a good video!
The Fabulous Thunderbirds made their place with Jimmy Vaughan on lead guitar, which are some BIG shoes to fill, but today's TBirds have only Kim Wilson from the originals. He's the rock in their rock n roll, but the new members are so very good and in the style and groove of Vaughan's arrangements, that the new guys surpass the old sound. Such a powerful band with many imitators out there, but the nobody does the blues like the new Thunderbirds. THEY ARE FABULOUS for sure!!
A beret would spin like a top on Kim's head if he wore one while playin the harp like he does! I like his 'chrome dome' and it's not a distraction at all. He's NO POSER!
There is footage of SRV and Jimmie Vaughan together in the T Birds, on a riverboat, back in the 80s. There's a sweet scene with the two of them playing the same guitar at the same time.
