Really nice setup!!! I have to do something similar. If you're not near a power outlet a small generator would do the trick. I like the garden hose with the reel idea and they are cheap and easy to replace. Teflon tape works great on threads. Thanks Dave!
Thanks Rodney, I figured if I wanted to run 30ish colonies I needed to have a for efficient way to feed them then last year. My big pot is ok for making 5 gal or so but I needed to be able to make 20 or 30 at a time, if I was to grow above about 10. I figured that out last year when I tried to do Fall feeding for 14. Dave, I've used those tanks and pumps for spraying. I always put a pressure gauge on to help me figure out how much pressure I need. Always allow some of the water to recirculate to avoid excess of pressure that blows out joints. Good luck.
YA I was thinking of a pressure gauge/regulator, this will work for feeding this fall and I can make the improvements this Winter. It sure is nice to be able to make syrup by the GALLONS with next to no effort. I discovered last year that if I wanted to run in the 20s and 30s I need to be able to make syrup on volume. Not on my stove, so we spent the Winter watching videos and Praying that I didn't waist to much money building it.😂But I Honestly think it turned out real well, I think with a few changes I could mix even thicker syrup no problem. 🤔I just have to had a water heater and I already have an idea for that one.😁Thanks for stopping by Russell, Blessed Days buddy...
TY much Tex, it turned out well. It'll finish out the season and I'll make my adjustment this Winter. Sure was nice and east to make 25 gallons of syrup.😁Blessed Days Blain...
Turns out the pump handle required more pressure to work efficiently. When I turn the pump up to that much pressure it IS🙉WAY🙉LOUD!!! You will see in the next one what changes I made, but ya it worked great, it was so so nice for mixing. There are cheaper ways to build a mixing tank but I wanted a mixer/feeder and it to be able to mix thick syrup. Now all it needs is it's own cart. Thanks for stopping by Noah, Blessed Days buddy...
Step by step, it has costed me more then I'd wanted but as long as it does the job well. It was real nice to have down there filling feeders, I have a few changes to make. I need a much longer hose. I kind of helped start a robbing situation having to have it to close. But ya I am real happy with how things are working out. Thanks for stopping by Randy, Blessed Days...
Ya I think your design is easier, I think I over sized the pump but it mixed 2:1 with out even noticing. I'll bet with heated water I could even mix heavier. Thanks for stopping by, Blessed Days Joey...
I started using cleaner and primer on all my pvc joints , every time i just use glue that's where it fails, God Bless DC
this stuff I got said it's a cleaner glue, I think I just didn't get good coverage. Most of my mishaps are user error.🤣Blessed Days Brad...

@@dcsblessedbees What are you going to use to preserve the syrup? Bleach?
Looking great DC!

@@dcsblessedbees I like your pvc idea. I'm sure it will work great once you get it fixed back up!

That's going to be nice when you get done with it.
