I will literally never get over how gruesome Queen Slug-for-a-Butt's death is. Like they show her skeleton and organs, just right there. The 90's really didn't give a shit

That isn't just the 90s.
Non human violence is a really weird thing for ratings. Killing zombies is somehow less violent than killing humans, even if said zombies are human and very graphically zombiefied.
Alien monsters dying was generallg acceptable, as is showing their skeletons or organs, since they aren't real they can't be realistic. To quote them, "Most characters burst into a cloud of dust or feathers when defeated; some burst into piles of "cartoony" bones and eyeballs".
They're lucky that the princess didn't show up more though, that would have been worse.
But yeah, there's a reason it got a 10+ and 12 rating respectively.
Though people tend to ignore the 10+ part of E.
The fact that Princess What’s Her Name just kept blinking while staring off into space in shock cracked me up! 😂 Jim could have just as easily shooed the cow away and gotten his girlfriend back.

This was and still is one of my most favorite games.
Play the Sega CD version. Its even better.
Don't play the Nokia phone version. It's worse than e.t. on atari

If any of you don't understand why his hp is depleted somewhat when he fights some bosses, that's because it was probably from the stage hazards before the boss

The visuals and audio are incredible for this time. I bought a couple of gamepro at the time and the reviewers were all in love with the game

Having been recommended Earthworm Jim stuff awhile back, I...can no longer watch Jim firing his blaster in this game without hearing his cartoon version yell "EAT DIRT YOU (adjective) (noun)! AHHH HA HA HA HA HA HA!" in the back of my head.

Warm Pond I think Major Mucus was left out due to it being nearly impossible if at all possible to beat it without taking damage.
Warm Pond Bob is right after Evil the Cat. His level was a pain for me as a kid.

I have always loved his machine pistol, it was such a satisfying gun to use when I was a kid lol. It doesn't shoot quite as fast as ai remember but it's still awesome lol.

This game is freaking Awesome!! & Halirious at the sametime!!..(I had this one the Snes) & had no idea Sega had a rendition of the game!!.looks just as good & fun as it was on the Snes! Thanks for uploading this gem!!!
It even had a gameboy version, and it wasn't awful! The music sounded good and the gameplay was surprisingly solid

Doc Duodenum is pretty much Toad Man from Mega Man 4: All you do is shoot while the boss just keeps jumping over you until they die lol

I think the Nintendo sound chip handles instruments and voice samples better, but in the end it's just up to personal preference on either side
Why did you miss bob the killer goldfish? JK he doesn't deserve to be the boss of one of the game's hardest and trickiest zones. Should be an epic dual against his minion, Number four.
Maybe I am just used to the SNES version of the game, but I don't recall the sound quality being so poor. Is that really how the Genesis version sounded? It sounds so.... chippy. Like tinny and crunchy at the same time. I can't say I like it. Though I don't remember a Doc Duodenum boss either, so that's neat. Wonder if the SNES version had things the Genesis version didn't. Did they have that god-awful water maze with the glass bubble elevator too? Or were they spared that nightmare?
Doc Duodenum was in the Level Intestinal Distress, which was cut from the SNES version due to last minute licensing deals with SEGA
