Thank you so much for your effort, Sam. As a teacher, I’d say you’ve been very helpful and effective in your way of teaching new vocabulary . Well-done !
Great job! Thank you Sam! But now can you please help us to make the nouns *usable in context for conversations* ? I mean with verbs and adjectives. (With some nouns you did already describe the function). Like how would you ask a kid to clean the shoe sole on the door mat? Would you say "please wipe your shoes on the door mat"? "rub your shoes at the door mat"? And how would you describe to remove the mop when it is dirty? (to someone who doesn't know) Would you say "you can remove the mop by pushing/or step on the ...('joint' perhaps?), while pulling up the ...(stem? pole?) at the same time? Or is 'mop' the whole thing, and the fabric is the wiper? It would be great to combine the nouns to useful sentences, like: "I've got only 3 mops, so I usually wash them in the washing machine together with the shower mat, because I do not want to combine them with the tea towel or the sponges or anything. Fact is, the machine is only filled half, so the question is, should I use half a measuring ... (cup?) of detergent? I prefer the ful amount, because the machine takes the ful amount of water though (or anyway?) Sry, I do know lots of nouns, but when it comes down to conversation, I'm fishing for words... How do you use the colander? Do you pour the pot in it? Or the water? Or can I say "please pour the pasta/vegetables in/through the colander" ? Is it possible to say 'drain' the vegetables? How can I advice someone to first use ful heat on the stove, but after a while only half heat? reduce? turn down? What are you doing with the spatula? do you flip/fling the pancakes? How do you describe to put the pancakes on the plate with or without the spatula? lift? let it slide? Do you ladle soup or yoghurt with the ladle in/into a bowle? Do you spread coasters on the table for guest's glasses? Or offer? Or put? Or any better expressions? What do you do with the shutter? open/close? lift/pull down? Do you open/close curtains? draw/push? I would really really appreciate, if you give us a "to be continued" 😀 (perhaps sounds a bit complicated, but I'm sure, it isn't. Short sequences, maybe 10 or 20 nouns in use. And how to comunicate in dialogs. Asking how to handle/give advice, asking for help/offering help...
