  • A lip injury can occur to even the best brass player. This can be a stressful and an emotional time for anyone, but EVERYONE can overcome their injuries with a positive mind set and with good coaching. This is yet another topic we will be addressing at the Eastman Trumpet Retreat at Keuka College.
Please join us this summer if you would like a more comprehensive look at my teaching.
The Eastman Trumpet Retreat will be held at Keuka College June 25-July 2 for the Eastman Trumpet Retreat.
The application deadline is May 1st!

I used to ride to school with this guy.
Happy to see him still playing the trumpet!

I fell and smashed my lip on the concrete, chipped a tooth, and got that fixed. The swelling is gone but now the injured area feels deflated and empty compared to the rest of the uninjured area.
How do I go about rehabilitation to make the lip "full up" like it used to be?

I solved the problem by switching to a mouthpiece with a somewhat softer bite. Freddie Hubbard never fully recovered from his injury. That's what a Bach Mt. Vernon 6 can do to you.
