when booking a cruise, do it in the fall before you want to leave, Over next few months before the cruise, they will fill the lower cost rooms up and move the people who booked first up a level at no cost. My Uncle and Aunt took lots of cruises and always had very nice rooms once they finally arrived. They had been bumped up several times.

I lived in Fairbanks/North Pole Alaska for a very long time. Enjoy the scenery, and go by and see Santa's house of you have the time.

I love that Mamma Cornstar rocks the double glasses look like I do. Sunglasses with reading glasses on the head. I wonder if she ever looks through both the reading glasses and sunglasses at the same time like I do when trying to read a map while on a trip.

We did an Alaskan Cruise in August of 2022 and it was amazing! Looking to do another, but after we go to Hawaii and do the Island Cruise on Norwegian Cruise Lines!!

I turn 59 in a week! Just married off my youngest daughter this past weekend (She's Cole's age) and the Missus and I will be going to Bali in October! At our ages we should ALWAYS take MORE vacations!

Alaska is truly God's country. My wife and I did a Rail/Cruise several years ago on the same ship you were on. Loved every minute of it!
Alaska is a wonderful state to VISIT. Living there year round for many years is a different story. If God's country has fugitives on the run, cities that are nasty dirty in every sense, homelessness out of control, worn out infrastructure, natives that get banned from their villages, oil workers that work 2 weeks on 2 weeks off from OK and TX and are idiots - have at it. Heck, they even pay every man, women and child to live there from the oil dividend fund - hence the amount of lowlifes. Have fun. Oh - and the weather is not awesome shall we say. The sun doesn't come up in winter and doesn't set in summer. You have to be a tough bugger to deal with it (the people, the terrain, the weather - all of it- or you will go nuts) Some guys wives and them couldn't take it and they just up and left - making 6 figures - they just couldn't deal with it any longer. I didn't mind it and you have to be tough and be able to hold your own in every sense, and embrace it. I love hunting and fishing as well as winter sports. I moved back to the lower 48 for a better job, but I was getting sick of the shananigans of the state. It really is a dumpy, dirty state.
Thanks for taking us on vacation with you two. I enjoyed it 1/2 as much as you two but I didn't pay a $$$$

BEST cruises are through the inside passage. And the state gets more breathtakinger the further along the Aleutians you sail.

Alaska is so beautiful if you do get a chance to see the deep interior of Alaska it’s worth it. The Arctic circle is awesome place.

Glad you all got away for some fun and relaxation, the best part of the cruise was you telling off all the different places you visited and what you were doing that day. Lol I laughed so hard my belly hurts right now.

My dad traveled to Alaska when we were kids. Early 1960’s. He was to Fairbanks, Soldotna, Barrow, Talkeetna, and many places in between. He was building compressors for power plants while working for the CPT. He told us about being on little planes while they loaded with a lot of gutted caribou to be shipped to different parts of the state. I still have a little doll with seal fur on the bottom, that he brought for me. I have a menu from the Traveler’s Inn of Alaska, based out of Fairbanks and Anchorage. It’s fun to see the prices, steak dinner with all the sides less than $9.00. Fun memories of all the stories our dad told us. 💙

I had ports of call in Sitka, Ketchikan, Juneau, Anchorage(x2) in the early 1980's on the USCGC Storis WMEC-38. Stunningly beautiful geography.
We were not in Sitka and we did take a bus from Denali to Seward to embark on the ship

You passed by where I live. Should of stopped in Palmer after Talkeetna. Where they settlers started the Colonies.

I loved the four years I lived their, while in the Army. Had lots of fun and adventures. Beautiful place and the hunting and fishing was fantastic. Ninety below zero winter a tad cold.
Great wilderness. Remember when you go on a hike, you become part of the food chain.
