I am really happy you went to see it a second time! That was worth it. I think this second set of films all together have some really good things to offer and are surprisingly decent films for being made these days. All worth having on HD Blu-ray too.
I loved the originals, I still watch them during New Years eve/ day. The new installments have been hit or miss. I do want to see the new one. Thanks for the pov.
I had the same reaction when they used the music cues from the original, as well as the other references. But, overall I liked it and I really liked the ending, which I didn't see coming. It left me looking forward to the next one.
I commend your open mindedness Joe. I grew up with, and loved the first 4 “Planet Of The Apes” movies and…. I have no interest in these latter day “Apes” films whatsoever, and as close minded as this sounds, I will not be going 🤨 Just the glimpses that I’ve seen of them bum me out. But good for you for being able to get into them..
