Finding you was like finding a small pot of gold on UA-cam. I also gotta appreciate all the work you're putting in for this
I totally agree with this comment. Very impressive.
Yes, exactly
exactly bro 100%
Or a Windex bottle of gold
This is the kind of content I come to UA-cam to find.
I pulled up to the local Harbor Freight in my Stock insight the other day and a guy asked me if this was my channel. LOL
😆
That's funny! 😂 I pull up to my local harbor freight in my insight all the time and never been asked once 🤷🏼♂️
This early YT vibe, enthusiasm, storytelling, home video camera style - all what we lost in todays 8k cinematic ads-stuffed shows. Ahh. I wish more channels on YT that will be cozy as this one. 🙌🏼
Fr fr heavy 2012 yt atmosphere
This old Tony vibes

Amazing channel
The ultimate achievement would be to get pulled over for speeding.
"um officer this has a harbor freight motor in it.. might wanna get your radar calibrated"
Now time to take it to a Honda dealership for a oil change 🍺🤠👍
Hehe... that would actually make for a very funny video!! Take it in and say that its sounding strange...
😁😁😁
+1 for this!
You're sort of building a new Geo Metro.
"eh, that's good enough"
* This Old Tony intensifies*
True....but this guy doesn't have a Maho!!😁
0:37 Turbo! ... Turbo!
TURBO!
I just want to point out that the desired speed for any car like this is 88 MILES PER HOUR
He's going to see some serious $#!t when that baby hits 88mph!
exactly thats bout where my 95 f150 tops at the speedo maxes at 90
The old piss in the glass cleaner bottle scam, priceless.
its sort of a big city kind of joke, I wonder if a lot of people got that one.
@@robotcantina8957 Maybe a Michigan joke? I’m about 50 miles west of you, roads in your videos are oh so familiar.
I didn't get it but to be fair I'm watching from southamerica
It called windell
Again: Thanks for adding the metric measurements!
Hell yeah, thanks a lot!
Yes, I said this a couple of videos ago too, but I would like to repeat my appreciation.
How about a NY to CA road trip on a lawn motor engine for 100K subscriber? I would pay to watch that!
Who else was leaning forward trying to hit 60?😂
Me🤚🤚
I also tried bumping the chair, didn't work
if you have a teenager, this needs to be their first car.. no risk of speeding tickets.
There is a dutch car that comes from the factory with a 5.5hp honda engine lol.
Instead of ls swaps all the kids will be doing Koehler and onan swaps possibly Briggs opposed twin swaps
Either this or a Ford Mustang, both are always in corvettes rear view mirrors
@@procrastinator1842 Yes, it's a 'car' for disabled people. Technically they are mopeds, and moped traffic rules apply.
I had a good mom. She told us honda civics where gutless and dangerous.
Now I understand how my dad's Datsun 120Y would do 120Km/h(75mph) easily in the 1980's, it only had a 4cylinder with of 1191cc displacement with only a 3 gear transmission!
The fact that you devoted such a large portion of the video just for a viewer request, shows what an amazing channel this is!
Agreed
If this was being used as a city car, it's performance would be perfectly acceptable with no further modification. It probably wouldn't even feel strained around town
If it fits I'd be interested to see the Harbor Freight V-Twin go in there.
50K subs in two weeks proves content is everything. Great job, keep posting.
I've always been interested in the process of powering a car with a small engine and the performance of the car afterwards. This channel is not only the best at showing it, it's kind of the only one. Everyone else is just like "this is my car it has a predator 212 in it thank you for watching"
this is the type of project I was wanting to do myself, but seeing how this requires fabricating and I lack those type of toolings, I'll just keep watching you do it.
When that tiny motor blows up, you'll be able to say it took a 420 smoke break.
This whole channel is exactly what I want to do, love in a quiet town, and just build whatever
Taking it to another level all the time, gotta love it
"Hillbilly Proving Grounds" is something everyone could have where they live. We should map them, make it a route system. You can be HPG Route 1. Then people everywhere will know where they can test their garage -built abominations near them!
Sounds an awful lot like my "I think I fixed it" proving grounds I pick out wherever I live for post maintenance test drives.
@@johnnycajon4858 or the culdesac near me, that I use to "test my emergency brake"
When I have my own rural property I will make it a hillbilly proving grounds
Insane, this is why UA-cam format is so popular folks. Series like this that suck you in down some rabbit hole you never thought you would ever want but find you need! Great work! I know the amount of hours it took to do the build and then also to shoot the footage and edit it. This is a labor of love and you should be handsomely rewarded for it!
The window cleaner street vendor got a big lol out of me. Quality merchant, that.
Ps dont eat the yellow snow
The universe likes speed. Don't delay. Don't second guess. Don't doubt. When the opportunity is there, when the impulse is there, when the intuitive nudge from within is there, act. That's your job. That's all you have to do. Keep going jimbo. We love those amazing speeds!
I would drive this car every day.
Crazy underrated channel
I can just imagine ppl hearing you pass by like that guy needs a mechanic
true story, As I was driving back from the hillbilly proving grounds I pulled int a little country store to check on the chain. The guy standing outside the store walked over and wanted to see what was wrong with the car because of the noise it was making.... lol
@@robotcantina8957 I sincerely hope you pleaded ignorance and asked if he could have a look 😂

Take it to jiffy lube for an oil change lol 😂
When I was about 17, I wondered if I could replace the engine in my father's spare car - a Morris 1200S - with a lawnmower engine.
You've shown me that (a) I couldn't and (b) you have to be grown-ups to even try.
Thank you, it's been hours of fun and many more to come, I hope.
Seems like you are hitting the HP/Drag limit around 58mph. Driveability looks good. Imagine this with a 670 twin. Could easily do highway travel.
Should I been thinking from the start except for you would have to worry about heights but that’s really not a problem if you know how to cut seven things and make the engine a bit lower because I can see you not a lot of. Things that I could do differently that would make it a lot lower I would make the first set of sprockets extend out further so they would be looking at the front of the engine stuck out it’s very hard to explain but I would be putting the sprockets not directly under the engine I’ll be putting them beside itAnd with a few minor modifications this could work
Please go 670 on this please please please
I want to see the 420 with efi and a turbocharger next!
You are that kind of guy that helps Maybach engines become everlasting.
At least a mechanic with extraordinary attention to detail and deep knowledge.
And Maybach engines because they were build to run, and run, and run... and never fail. And they are fully modulare what does require a reassembly every 15 years but they keep going like they were build yesterday.
Who in their right mind would dislike this??? This is awesome thanks for bringing us along 😉
I love that these are clearly master engineers and people on UA-cam are sitting in their office chairs telling them how to make it better. Most likely their biggest job being an oil change.
And they probably over tightened everything. 😂
I would love to hear some reactions to this vehicle from the locals in your testing area. From the looks of it, all 3 of them. Great job
They should take it to an alignment shop and hide some cameras in there
for the first time in years UA-cam done a great job with the recommendation of this channel
"Hey your honda sounds like a go cart!"
"Nah, its a cement mixer"
Awesome content, please keep uploading these videos! I used to modify cars in high school, and I feel like if you modify that engine a lot and add a small turbo it could almost do 90mph
Im glad the algorithm showed me your channel
They should air this 3 times a week on PBS. Because, education.
Wow! It's running like a champ and getting better every video! From the view inside the car it looks like your really flying on the road! Really enjoy watching your progress! 👍👍
When this car gets almost 4 time the fuel economy as my car plus never having to worry about a speeding ticket priceless
Mathematically speaking, the best sprocket would have zero teeth, allowing _infinite_ speed!
That’s kind of how a CVT works.
Zero teeth (which of course only works in math), infinite speed requires infinite power.
@@dustintunis9347 if you have infinite time, then you have infinite power?
infinitely zero speed?!
@@mikescudder4621 dividing by zero equaling zero is for people who have limitations rooted in reality.

I don’t know how I found your channel but you have quickly become my favorite content creator on UA-cam by far
My bet on random UA-cam recommendation
Robot Cantina can you do a video on how you learned how to do all this stuff?
I love this channel. It's like having another This Old Tony.
one thing i love about the overview of Michigan is just how much it looks like the uk
i can also imagine some old guy going mad looking for them darn kids on those darn motocross bikes and ATVs going up and down the road only to find you in a strange-looking honda
You should take it on a long trip to see how it holds up on a long trip and what you had to replace on the way
If it breaks down you can just get another engine and swap it in minutes!
And keep up with traffic!
The cvt system is really robbing some power. Ditch it for a normal clutch and use the manual transmission like its meant to be used.
Why not just hook clutch back up and run directly drive
The “how dare you” was an excellent touch
i wonder how many caught that
@@BeamerTheFox Greta certainly hasn't !
Let's just appreciate how he took a small comment about the km/L measurement from last video and is now using L/100km notation.
This channel is going places.
This channel is a lot of fun to watch. You should do a video of you "going shopping" and watch people's reaction as you pull stat your car at every shop. 🤣
That looks honestly fun. I was amazed how quiet it is in the engine bay yet it has a awesome exhaust tone behind the car 🤣🤣

I found this channel last night. Been bing watching non-stop since then. It just shows what a bit of engineering can do with even the most mundane things aka boring old lawnmower engines. Keep going and stay away from those garden gnomes
Glad you enjoy it!
When I found this Channel like 2 months ago I honestly thought this Channel already had 100k subs because the vids are put together so well. I hope the sun count goes to the moon! Amazing work!
incredible performance from a single cylinder engine. Awesome!
I'm enjoying this adventure. I'm still sort of fascinated that modest size auto engines are achieving better fuel economy and power. The backyard thinking that let to so many 1cyl cars (as seen on aging wheels) is really outdated thinking.
I look forward to the next improvements to your project.
I am a foreigner looking in.....Aussie..... I love this......folk like you is what makes America great.......cheers
14:58 the pops soo good, I love it!
It actually sounds like a hot rod!
This is such an awesome project. I hope the bigger displacement affords partial throttle. Amazing
7:28 that's some world class CGI to illustrate the sprocket change!
lol...
I absolutely love this type stuff,so so entertaining
Such a great project!!! I figured u we’re gonna grow the middle sprocket, seemed the best performer and ran cooler... thanks for sharing!!!!
Thank you for including L/100KM and KM/H.
Especially the economy!
This channel is definitely in my top 5 now. Building my kids stealthy go karts to tear up the neighborhood quietly we use some flexible exhaust tubing. Yeah that stuff you see in the exhaust isle at oreillys and giggle at. I have no doubt it'll quiet your hot rod down.
Always watch your videos relating to the Honda with a huge grin on my face. They're spectacular.
Edit: Congratulations on reaching 50k+ subscribers so fast. Proves you're putting out top notch content.
More people need to watch this channel.
they will give it time, this channel is favored by youtube hence the 50 thousand subscribers in 2 weeks lmao
When you called it the bad lands I was waiting for literally bad road conditions but yeah, gotta give them a driving course name. Cool shit, keep them comming
Can’t wait to see all the performance part madness bound to ensue.
Your videos have a 90's educational video flavour. Takes me back.
This is so cool! Had to binge the whole series
*_You have implemented my comment from the last video to this one to use the international standard for measurements :) You just become my favorite youtube on the entire youtube_ * 😀😀😀

I truly appreciate all the work you put into make this content!!!!
Did I hear the exhaust pop and bang 💥💥💥 at the end? That's really all you need in a car to have fun
Turbo!!!
TEHRBOW
If you ever think your car is slow remember this thing exists anyways jokes a side well done on your build good explanations too making other people learn good job
Reminds me of my grand dad when he stands up
I could imagine hearing that thing pass, and think, damn that honda sounds just like a predator motor
We the Youtubists love these homebrew channels. Yours is good content combined with subtle humor. Glad you ditched the smiley-faces on every scene wipe. I've back watched all of your content to get here. Good job with the content and actual work. I'm looking forward to this project.
Thanks, I love comments that give me good advice on production value.
Keep up man, you are gonna go big in a few years. We need more peoples like you on the Internet. Cheers from Italy and stay safe.
I wish I could like this twice. For real. What would happen if you took a more 'regular car' approach, by fastening the stock insight flywheel either to the 420cc engine directly, or with some reduction, to a shaft. Without having the CVT mechanism.
The one thing i'm sure that would accomplish is better packaging, Beyond that, I don't even know if it's feasible.
This project reminds me of my first motorcycle. A Honda 50.
I love your sense of humor.
That is still a stock, governed 420?!? Man jimbo, you put that 670 with some performance upgrades and you'll have to start racing people for pinks! Absolutely love the content, my favorite project on UA-cam! Thanks for taking us along for this adventure! I saw a Honda insight the other day and you would have thought I saw a Ferrari from my reaction!
The engine is still more or less stock, just a slight jet size increase.
The go kart pop noise was awesome
I hope you're going to take this to tuner shows over the summer
Please adjust clutching. I think there will be more to gain tuning the cvt then changing gear ratios. I am a snowmobile guy. Clutching is key! Tachometer is a must when adjusting weights and springs! Engine should be at the rpm that peak hp happens from engagement to top end. Love the videos!
I havent been disappointed in a single episode yet.👍
The way he talks is definitely the same style as taofledermaus
Alright, you got a chuckle outta me with that Windex bit
dude wtf the first video i have seen of you you had 500subs or so...
glad to see u get more subs
Have a nice day 💌😃
Thanks for converting mph to kmh and mpg to l/100km!
Underrated wish more channels did this.
Our pleasure!
I thought you put a secondary off of snowmobile on that but now I see you kept the car transmission! Wow.
HEY JIMBO..... congratulations on reaching 100k subscribers.. ROBOT CANTINA is providing the
