you have the red knob in the wrong spot that's supposed to go in the middle of the other two as it indicates that the sear burner when you're cooking steaks all three should be on Max
We bought a Genesis Smart grill a few months ago. Lowes delivered ours fully assembled (At no extra charge). Like you said the grill is of great quality and will last for decades but after the first one or two uses, we haven't used the probe or the smart technology. It is great to have but since most of the time, we grill hamburgers or hotdogs for just the two of us we just haven't needed it.
According to Weber you've got your grates upside down. Do a net search for "weber cast iron grate orientation". (With the flat side up you also have more metal in contact with the meat for a better sear.)
Great job! Explanations on the smart aspect are excellent. When you go on the Weber website it is not too clear as to what is included or not but you answer that question. I guess you have to buy a separate power bank and a 2nd probe if needed. The website almost make it appear that they provide a "remote" but you answer the issue by using an app on the phone. My only question is the 39,000 btu on the Genesis 335 enough btu's to go general grilling. Did it heat up to 400-450 degrees resonably fast? The reason I ask is I have always had 48,000 btu on my older Weber. Thanks!

Grates in the wrong position too! Bigger one should be on right so that you can replace it with the sear zone accessories.

I just bought and assembled this grill. Can’t believe for all that money they only supply one meat probe.
That does seem kind of funny actually… All those little parts and pieces and only one probe.

The sear knob is in the wrong spot...it belongs in the middle of the three on the right.
