    I wish I could find a review(s) that actually shows the mask in action. Everyone is showing this at that. Then you get it and turn it on and realize you didnt get to see and hear the mask in action. Like where does the mask vent, is it loud, what does it sound like while being used. These things are just as important as comfort, fitting, etc...

    I am on a pressure of about 23-25. Humidifier is always maxed out. My favourite mask - here comes the contrarian in me - is the Philips Respironics Nuance'. OK so I get a bit of air leakage which apparently sounds a bit hurricanish, but it works for me.

    My preferred nasal pillow mask in the Fisher & Paykel Opus 360. I like that the hose goes over the top of my head so I'm not fighting the nose - I can freely turn from side-to-side without ever having to touch the nose. The mask is also one of the least expensive masks on the market. You can buy a new mask for what the head gear of other masks cost. Simple to clean the head gear - just undo a couple of velcro fasteners and throw in the washing machine. Wash the rest of the bits in the sink. Very small and light weight for traveling.

Mine is a couple of years old but seems to work fine, or maybe I'm just used to it over time. It's also gone through the SoClean2 for two weeks now. Does the ozone therein contribute to deteriorating the Pillow mask?

    I'm obviously late here but a problem with the Respironics Dreamwear for me was the rush of air sound through the silicone mask frame. Those "legs" run from top to along your face near your ears and unless you're deaf or have some hearing loss the constant noise may bother you. The swivel at the top was great for me and it was a very soft and stable fit for me as a back sleeper who shifts around very little, if any, during sleep. Currently using the P10 but considering the P30I for the top hose and nasal pillows. You can shift the P10 hose over the top to some extent but it's a very clunky arrangement when done. I just don't care for the hose hanging across my face, chin or chest.

The problem with the Silicone pillows is the same I get with cushions version they collapses and I get leakage. I can't use any of the other ones. I’ve had a lot of nasal pillow masks now. Probably 6 or 7. I thought the DreamWear nasal pillow would be the answer to all my issues, but the thing is so dang loud with regards to the exhaust port. I moved to the airfit p10 after that and loved how quiet it was, but I would get tangled in the hose too often. For about a month now, I’ve been using the P30i and it’s everything I want from a nasal pillow mask. It’s stable, extremely quiet, and comfortable. Have they made the side channels firmer in the last couple of years? In the past, the DME clinician kept repeating the company brochure that it was perfect for side sleepers, and that if one side was compressed, the other side would compensate. For me personally, having the hose at the top of the head was a why didn't someone think of this before moment. I will never use a hose under the nose mask again. If you're a stomach sleeper, these masks are far more comfortable as I often have my face in the pillow. Having used the Airfit N30i , and the Dreamwear nasal mask, I thought I preferred the N30i, however I have now had 2 of the N30i silicone pillows separate from the hard plastic piece in front as it is just glued on. The Dreamwear nasal mask is one piece of soft silicone so it doesn't have this issue. The straps on both have a tendency to slide up the back of your neck to the top of your head. However there is now a head strap with plastic arms that fits either, and stays put, eliminating the one negative these had, in my opinion.

    • @thoughtsandslayers3917

      I'm a stomach sleeper too and I tried the Dreamwear for two months because everyone said it was the best for me. I love a lot about the design, but I can't get past the hard, thick connectors that dig into my cheeks. It might be good if you're a stomach sleeper with slim or gaunt cheeks, but if you have full cheeks you may find those bits uncomfortable. Plus, I worried about the overhead mask style causing hair breakage and hair loss, which has been reported by many.
      I mentioned my annoyances with the Dreamwear to my sleep tech and she gave me a Brevida to try. I am in LOVE. The swivel hose is perfect for keeping it up and out of my face (thanks to my overhead hose hanger) and it's got minimal contact on my cheeks, and the nasal pillows are supersoft and don't cause soreness! The leak prevention isn't as perfect as LankyLefty claims (all masks I've tried have leaked, though) but it's just so comfy for an incurable stomach sleeper. Sleeping on a down pillow with silk pillowcase also makes the whole experience great.

    • @dh2392
      @dh2392 Рік тому

      @@thoughtsandslayers3917I've been using the Dreamwear nasal mask, and the Airfit n30i since they came out, and I don't have hair loss at the top of my head. For hair loss, we would have to have 2 things, friction and movement. Silicone offers very little friction, and with the proper sized headgear, there is very little if any movement, and why would there be? There's a swiveling 90 on the top that moves with the hose. In fact I would argue that the strap at the back of your head is more likely to cause hair loss. Here we have friction, and movement. I don't know what type mask you were using, but I use the nasal masks, and I don't know what you're referring to by hard connectors? Where the nasal mask clips in? Those connectors are firm, but they're not hard, and they're on either side of you nose, which keeps them from being pressed into your cheeks. And I would take a little pressure on my cheeks over having a hose attachment at the end of my nose, smashing it every time I turn my nose into the pillow.

    Hey lefty how are you? Got a question for you. OK so I’ve reviewed my SD card information on sleepyhead and found my sweet spot area for using a auto CPAP and my pressure sweet spot is between eight and 12 normally it’s 8.5 to 9.5 and on a bad night it’s around 11. Now if I put the machine in CPAP mode instead of auto my sweet spots right around like 9 to 9.5. Now with an auto I’ve noticed that I wake up still very tired and then I get really tired a couple hours Into the day and then I get really really really tired in a couple hours like after that. But when I have it in CPAP mode I have more energy I’m not as tired the only thing different is my chest kind of has a little bit more pressure buildup in it feeling I guess you can say come which is a little weird but I don’t know what would be causing Matt from CPAP mode. And with you being a sleep specialist just figured I would ask you and see what your opinion on it would be. The machine I have is a Phillips Resporal Synex dream station and it is a auto CPAP on and it has the humidifier chamber and the heated hose and I use the mask that I ordered from your website which is a res med air fit 10 in a size large. I’ve also noticed that when I have my machine in CPAP mode I have more air leaks throughout the night then when I have it in auto mode. I don’t know if that’s me being more comfortable with it in CPAP so I sleep longer and I sleep better and it kind of creates air leaks around my face or what would be causing that exactly and it usually gets pretty bad actually like almost 3 1/2 hours with the air leak during the night and it doesn’t wake me up and I don’t really notice the air leak at all it must be a small one. Don’t really know how to fix that or how to eliminate it because no matter what mask I wear I always seem to have an air leak usually around my mouth or around the bridge of my nose leaking into my tear ducts in my eyes and I have a problem where when I’m sleeping at night when I fall deep in sleep my jaw kind of opens and drops down a little bit so it creates a air leak right around my mouth I believe.

      Ron Watson I had an awful time with the Bleep mask. No matter how much effort I placed on getting my face prepped it would leak after a few hours. Often the difficulty connecting the hose to the tubes would pull off the adhesive and I would need to supplement with more tape. If the connections to the nasal tubes were quicker and more reliable to connect, then you would only need to deal with the adhesive not sticking. I’ll wait for version 2.0.

      I’m curious how you are doing now after 2 years?
      I just started my cpap journey 6 months ago and I’m nog anywhere where I need to be.
      Still snoring, if I turn the pressure up it just leaks out.
      Frustrated in Vegas.

    I have the N30i which works good. I got the same size, medium p30i insert but just can't breath through it. It's like it's blocked.
    Is it also true that the dreamware lets more air escape when not breathing in?

    I've read that the Dreamwear Cushion Mask doesn't hold as tight when lying on your side or stomach as the Gel Pillow Mask.
    Is this true ?
    For sleeping on your side or stomach, would you recommend the Dreamwear Gel Pillow Mask or the Cushion Mask more?

    Love your videos but don’t ever buy from cheap cpap supplies.com. Their customer service is horrible. Because of them I’m having to be without being able to use my machine for possibly weeks.

      @@Freecpapadvice I ordered new cushions because apria sucks and never ships stuff on time. I expected them to be here mid week. A few days after I ordered them I got curious and hit the go through insurance button and did that whole process. A week later still no shipping notification from them. Finally I send a smart ass reply to one of their add emails and they email me back saying they canceled my order because I have insurance. I still haven’t gotten a confirmation on shipping through insurance so I’m sitting here with absolutely no good cushions as a result.

    • @Freecpapadvice
      @Freecpapadvice  3 роки тому

      Devils advocate: They may have been doing you a "favor" so the money came out of insurance and not your original payment. But....there is an authorization that they likely need to obtain that takes time.
      That said....a common complaint that I hear is that their shipping is slow.

      @@Freecpapadvice see and before now I’ve always thought they were on the ball. I ordered stuff Christmas Eve and got it the following Tuesday. Haven't yet finished watching your video. I enjoy them all. But a word of advice. Your COVER GRAPHIC, with your "bulging eyeball"! NO, NO, NO! Such a photo marks one as a "CARTOON CHARACTER", in my opinion anyway! It tends to throw "seriousness" aside for the "comic"! If a video intends to be of a serious nature, never use this tactic!! Maybe during the inner part of a video this can be used to nice effect though. I know you are serious in your videos. Thanks for all your good efforts! "Gesundheit"!
