Welcome to rural Kansas where it's quiet and filled with nothing except for fields and small grain elevators with the occasional small town. This is the Fort Scott Subdivision looking south linking busy Kansas City and Springfield, Missouri and traffic to and from Tulsa with Hammond being roughly around the halfway point (MP 91.82). Here at MOKAN Railcams we invite you to stay and watch the train traffic that goes through South East Kansas. This subdivision acts as the primary gateway for BNSF traffic to the south east from the western United States. Trains you will see are; coal trains, manifest trains and, vehicle trains and odd unit trains. You can expect to see around 10-25 trains a day depending on what traffic for the day looks like.
INTERNET NOTICE: The Hammond camera and all future cameras are powered by Starlink, which is the world's best satellite internet. However, during severe thunderstorms that carry really low clouds, Starlink may not be able to find satellites and may be down for 10 minutes to an hour. But don't worry, Starlink will always come back unless something happens to the dish itself or to power it out in the area, which is unlikely in most cases. All of my cameras are powered by Ethernet, so if there is no internet or power, the camera will not work. Thanks for reading, and I hope you understand.
