One of the things I want this sort of watch for is to regularly monitor my heart rate. I've been using a Galaxy Watch 3 (42mm) with continuous heart rate monitoring enabled and easily get about 36-40hrs of battery life. I tried the 42mm Galaxy Watch 4 Classic and couldn't even get 12hrs out of it with the exact same settings as on the Watch 3. I ended up returning the 4. Rather than having to turn off useful features, Samsung just needs to do a better job at optimizing battery usage.
give them a couple more generations, this is the first gen running wear os. Can also say the classic has poorer battery like then the standard watch.... my wife can get 2 days out of her standard 4 (without any setting modifications) where as even with many of the features turned off I am still barely able to get a day out of my classic. Also don't know about you I have a lot of the features on my S22 plus turned off, because samsung has always offered more features, for the wow factor and convenience at the cost of battery life
Thank you. I can now manage my watch to give me the functions I want and increase my battery life. It was only lasting 6-8hours. Now I get 24 hours. Thanks!!
Why turn off most of the best-selling features of the watch? I may as well buy a cheap 10 dollar watch at Walmart if I cant use all those nice features without having to charge every day.
Pro tip: just pop the watch on the charger in the morning while you getting done.. 30min to a hour of charge will last you up untill the next day again. You might have to charge again at night for a few min if you have been doing alot of workouts. But taking off the watch while your doing something else isn't a problem. Apple has been selling like hot cake despite having bad battery life for the longest of time. Not the end of the world. And your still able to enjoy all the features.
There is another tip worth mentioning. I have the LTE model. Turning ON the Airplane mode and then Turn ON BlueTooth. BT can work well on Airplane Mode. While connected to the phone this is all you need anyway. In case you want to switch back to LTE, or use WiFi etc, simply turn back OFF Airplane Mode.
This was extremely helpful. What helped me was when you explained it for the LTE versions. That's what made it click for me. Still a bit of a learning curve for me. But I'm getting there. Thanks for sharing.
