Very generous of you to show us how you make your soaps, we can and should create our own recipes but now you have shown us your technique, thank you so much. Kim from Oz
I'm new to soap making, and this is by far my favorite video (and I have watched tons already) I love how you don't want to waste any soap and how you just let your creativity flow. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Citalali ~ thank you for watching and taking the time to leave such a nice comment. It's always fun to hear from other soap-makers and I appreciate your kind words. :) ione eve
+Michelle Guzman Hi Michelle ~ Thanks for watching my video and for the giggle! Soap-making always makes a big mess. I don't want to shock viewers by scanning the area surrounding where I'm working, especially when I'm done, LOL!
you are an amazing soap maker. I don't make soap but I love watching your video for inspiration whenever I paint, this is true art. Please buy her soap
Tiki Wil Hi Tiki ~ Thank you for watching and the great comment. I used to watercolor paint. I loved it because it felt like relaxation therapy whenever I painted. It's taken a back-seat since I learned to make soap though, LOL!
It can become very adicting! I made my first batch yesterday and I am going crazy, my family is using the kitchen so I can't make any soap! ahahah, the struggle is REAL!
A tip I learned from Missouri River Soaps & Soaping101 is to begin when your oils and lye solution are at room temperature. I found, since making the change, that I have way more time to play with the patterns. As well my scents tend to behave better at the cooler temps too. Just thought I would pass this on as you mentioned the acceleration. Great Job! Love, love love the look!! Thanks for the video. :)
Thank you for the great tip and gracious compliment. I do make soap at room temp. more often now for the very reasons you stated, and find it works most of the time. The only exception is an unruly fragrance ~ haha! I really appreciate you watching, commenting and sharing the video! Thanks again. :) ione eve
Beautiful as always Ione. I nearly have all my ingredients and equipment to begin soap making I'm so excited I can't wait to start. I love your videos in particular I find them very informative. Thank you.🇦🇺😊
Thank you for the nice compliment. I remember how exciting it was beginning to make soap. Even after all these years, I still love it. Have fun, and I hope you enjoy it as much as me. :) Ione eve
Deborah Gilbert Hi Deborah ~ thank you for watching and the thoughtful comment. My son told me he enjoyed this soap, and Cool Water is still a favorite fragrance for him. Whew! haha! :) ione eve
The results of your soap are so lovely. I would have loved a listing of the ingredients that you used and maybe even where you got your supplies, but none-the-less, fantastic soap. Your son is lucky to enjoy it. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Ashley ~ thank you for watching the video and leaving the nice comment. I appreciate your gracious words. I don't consider my videos tutorials, just entertainment. I leave teaching to the experts like Cathy McGinnis from Soaping 101 and Anne Marie from Soap Queen TV. I can tell you I get my soap supplies from Tropical Traditions, Brambleberry, Wholesale Supplies Plus and on Amazon ~ fragrance and essential oils from Brambleberry, Natures Garden, Peak, WSP and Super Supplements. The "Cool Water" fragrance oil was from Natures Garden. Thanks again, and happy soaping! :) ione eve
Hi Eve. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to reply to me so quickly. Thank you also for the clarification on the nature of your videos. I'm a soapmaker too but haven't made any in quite a while. I purchase from many of the same suppliers. Would you ever be interested in mentoring? I am just wondering. You can also send your response to my email, ashley_heals@yahoo.ca. Keep up the great work and have a super day Eve. Cheers!
Thank you, Tami. I appreciate you watching and your kind compliment. I'm really happy with the neon blue raspberry color ~ using it a lot these days! :) ione eve
Thank you for watching my video and taking the time to leave such a nice comment. I appreciate your kind words. You put a big smile on my face! :) ione eve
Oh my goodness! When you brought the mold up to the camera, it looked like liquid silver was flowing on it! Just beautiful! Thank you for sharing this with all of us.
Nevím, co s nimi budu dělat :-) :-) :-) Přeji Vám hodně zdraví, štěstí a nekončící inspirace.
Thank you for watching and the nice comment. I appreciate your sweet compliments. You are very kind. It is always a pleasure to talk with other soap makers. I had a lot of soap when I first started and gave much to family and friends. After 2 years I started to sell my soap too. Good luck with your soap making, and thank you again! :) ione eve
Hi Melvin ~ Thank you for watching my video and taking the time to write a comment. It's nice having a soap maker in the family eh? I hope your wife enjoys it as much as I do. :) ione
This was beautifully done. I got worried when the soap thickened so much however, it really added to your top design. Well done. Thanks so much for sharing.
Thank you so much, Mina! You just never know for sure what's going to happen when making soap ~ that's part of the great adventure. I call this soap a happy accident ~ haha! I really appreciate you commenting, and sharing the video! :) ione eve
Hi Michelle ~ Thank you for watching my video. I love those fresh scents too! There is one scent called Kentish Rain that reminds me of ocean air blowing over an Ireland cliff onto the moors, fabulous! :) ione
Hi Giovanni ~ thank for watching and taking the time to leave a nice comment. I really like this design and have used it many times since making this video. One I made as a tribute to our football team came out especially nice. Here is a link if you would like to see what they look like. www.evesgardenhandmadesoaps.com/blog/archives/02-2014
Cool ~ no pun intended! I tried this method again with my Tribute to the Seahawks soaps (picture on website ~ Blog page) and it seems the designs come out pretty great. I hope yours does too! Thanks for watching :) ione eve
Beautiful! Yep! 7 years later I’m watching you and learning! Love to watch you! Wonder if it was fragrance causing to trace quick? Anyway thank you! -Momo
Hi Momo ~ Thank you for watching my video and your sweet comment. It makes me happy that you learned something. The soap was pretty thick due to over stick-blending and the FO actually loosened it. The black and white colors were made with oxides and maybe activated charcoal, both thicken trace a lot and I think that was the problem. I was grateful after the design came out so unique though, lol. Happy soaping! :) ione
A great video and I love that you talk though it not just play music and have it in fast motion. It is very helpful, Thanks from Canada! I love this scent too and I love your design and colours :)
+Rosalie Chilibeck Hi Rosalie ~ thank you for watching my video and the kind words. I had some complaints about the video being too long, so in recent ones I do fast forward through some parts. Who needs to watch stick-blening for 2 minutes, eh? LOL! Thanks again and happy soaping! :) ione eve
That is a neat soap idea, I am new to this and I find it to be fun. The only problem is my wife gets mad because I have so much soap from trying new ideas...........lol. Keep up the great work.
Wow! I've made soap a few years ago but not quite like that! I would really like to start doing this! Perfect to give away for Christmas! Along with bath salts I'm planning on making! Thank you!
Hi Ophie ~ thank you for watching and leaving such a nice comment. Making soap is so much fun ~ always something new to try, eh? I hope you give it another go-around. Handmade soaps do make wonderful gifts! :) ione eve
Hi Charlotte ~ thank you for watching and taking the time to leave such a sweet comment. I don't know about talent ~ it's more like good luck in my experiments, LOL! :) ione eve
This was a perfect blue for this soap. For me, it depicts the color of a beautiful tropical ocean. I really love your videos! You talk to us; ask us questions, he he, I answer you, too. Thank you for sharing! xoxo
I appreciate you watching my video and the great compliment. Welcome to soap-making. I hope you'll enjoy it as much as me. My advice is watch lots of videos, LOL! Make sure to follow safety precautions, wearing eye protection and gloves. Also, don't spend a lot until you see if it's something you love. Find make-do tools and molds at first. Practice with cheap ingredients until you feel you've got the hang of it. Other than that ~ enjoy and let your imagination run wild. LOL! :) ione eve
I was a bit confused in what you were doing with the cardboard ...but I am a beginner ...and you my darling know what you are doing... At the mo have flu so just watching loads of vids...but thank you for sharing so much and making it look easy... From London x
Hi London ~ I love watching soap-making videos in my down-time too! Sorry to hear you have the flu, I hope you feel better soon. I love making soap and consider it an addiction ~ be carefull, it happens! ~ lol In the video I was using the cardboard as a ramp of sorts. The stripes appear in the soap diagonally. At least that's the hope! Best of luck to you in your soap-making endeavors. :) ione eve
Hi Kathy ~ Thank you for watching my video and your sweet compliment. To answer your question, I love using powdered mineral colorants and sometimes oxides. I also use mica, but not very often for coloring. I can mix almost any color I want with just a few basic colors. I also like them, because it doesn't take very much to make a vibrant color so they are more cost effective than mica. Most soap suppliers that carry coloring agents will have them. I hope this information helps and happy soaping! :) ione
Hello Varatchaya ~ thank you for watching my video and commenting. To answer your question, it is always recommended to keep the equipment and tools used for making soap separate from those used for food preparation. Materials corrode with lye use, and can hold deposits that may poisen food. I hope this helps, and happy soaping! :) ione eve
I love how it turned out!! I will try it for sure. Castor oil accelerates trace, maybe try reducing the amount you use. For bubbles you can add a little sugar and see how it goes. I love your videos and appreciate the time and effort you invest in them. Hugs!!
+Joan Figueroa-Jiménez Hi Joan ~ thank you for watching and the thoughful commnet. I didn't know that about Castor oil, great advice! I have made some changes in my recipes and mixing techniques since doing this video, so don't have such a problem with accelleration now. Of course trying new fragrances is always a challenge, LOL! :) ione eve
Hi Veronica ~ thank you for watching and the gracious comment. To answer your question, the blue color is Neon Blue Raspberry from Brambleberry. It's a personal favorite now! :) ione eve
Hello, and thank you for watching my video. A good rule of thumb for fragrance amounts is 5% of the total batch weight. If using essential oils it's 4% as skin is more sensitive to them. I hope this helps and happy soaping! :) ione
Hi Michelle ~ I really like Cool Water fragrance too. Not only does it smell like the beach, but it's wonderful to work with. I make some soap with the full scent and others I blend with different ocean/woods scents for a new fragrance. It's very versatile. :) ione
Hi, i am also new to soap making. I haven't actually made any yet because I am still waiting for my mixer thing. It is here!!!!!!! Great timing. I love watching your videos! can you give me some tips? Thanks
i'm seriously considering soaping and body butters so i've obsessed myself with videos.. i love how you take your time and explain what you are doing and don't mind sharing your gift. some i've watched don't want you to see how they create the batter and design in fear that you may try it yourself. How long do you let the bars sit before use?
Hi Rolanda ~ thank you for watching and leaving a nice comment. I appreciate it very much. To answer your question, I mostly make cold process soap and I let them cure for 6 weeks. I use full water in my recipes, so they need time to evanporate. Then, they are nice and hard, lasting a long time. Thanks again and I hope you find making soap as much fun as I do! :) ione eve
That was interesting. Thanks. Your soap looked lovely at the end & I hope your son liked it. By the way, what would happened if it did accelerate too fast when you add something, & what does that mean exactly?
Thank you for watching the video and your gracious comment. My son loved the soaps. I gave them to him for his birthday. To answer your question, acceleration means that the soap is turning thick faster than anticipated putting the planned design in question. Sometimes just getting it into the mold before it sets is a challenge. I've seen soap that hardened in the bowl, and in that case needed to be put in a crock pot and hot processed. I hope this helps. Happy soaping! :) ione eve
It means the soap batter thickens too fast, making it impossible to pour....meaning you quickly have to rethink your design! I call mine plop-designs at that point. lol. It usually still turns out to be a good soap, just not what you originally pictured in your head from the start.
Hi Doreen ~ I love this aqua blue color too, and use it a lot. It's called Neon Blue Raspberry (cosmetic-grade powdered mineral) and purchased it from brambleberry.com
Absolutely gorgeous. I'm a new soaper. I'm doing melt & pour presently but want my first soap like this to have these colors or similar. My co name is Mermadia. I'm on Facebook. I'll be watching more of your videos cause I like how you make your soaps. Thank you for sharing.
+Natalie Grass Hi Natalie ~ thank you for watching my video and the lovely comment. I hope you have fun doing cold process method. I saw some of the cute soaps you've made with melt and pour on your Mermadia group page. Here is a link to my FB account. It would be nice to keep in touch there. I'd love to see how you like doing cold process. facebook.com/eves.garden.52 Send me an invite, if you're interested.
I friend requested you just now. Thank you for the invite I'm looking forward to seeing your lovely creations. Thank you so much for taking the time to check out Mermadia! Off to go watch more of your videos while I have my morning coffee. :)
Pretty... love you the shade of blue used... although maybe not as pourable as you'd planned, even the white "plops" look artiscally placed... really very pretty...
Hi Katherine ~ thank you for watching my video and the thoughtful comment. In making soap, sometimes we need to embrace the unplanned. It's surprising how many designs turn out different than expected, but nice in their own way, LOL! :) ione eve
Hello Lauren ~ It all depends on the scent used, and at what strength. I imagine the same holds true for manufactured soaps. Thanks for watching my video! :) ione eve
Love it! Bit of advice about superfatting ; discount the lye by 5% is so much safer for you & less chance of forgetting it but its great fun experimenting lol
Thank you, Joanne for watching and the nice comment. All my soaps have at least a 5% lye discount. Not much use putting in expensive oils/butters if they're just going to turn into soap, eh? I know what you mean about having fun experimenting ~ probably what keeps this activity so addicting! LOL :) ione eve
Hi Brianna ~ thank you for watching and the lovely comment. I'll put my thinking cap on and try to come up with a hot pink soap design. Hummmm . . . . :) ione eve
I loved your soap, I've been looking into making some gift baskets for the holidays. What kind of coloring and where did you get it from if you don't mind me asking.
Hi Pertrisha ~ thank you for watching and the nice compliment. To answer your question, I use powdered mineral colorants/oxides/mica in my soaps. I get most of them from Brambleberry. I hope this helps, and have fun making holiday gift baskets! :) ione eve
Hi Doreen ~ thank you for watching my video and the nice compliment. I used freezer paper for lining this mold. I find it much easier to work with than parchment paper. Both have wax surfaces and work well for providing a non-stick surface. I've made mylar/silicone liners that I use most of the time now. :) ione eve
Hi Doreen ~ All my wood molds are custom made for me by a friend. I like soaps to be a little wider than most molds on the market. There are several good mold makers on etsy to check out. :) ione eve
Well thank you too! Those little loaves are fun to make, I was looking at the molds last night when I was reorganizing my room and thought to myself that I need to use them sometime soon. They do make a little narrower bar, but they are cute because of that. I love the fragrance too, it is nice! :-)
+Varatchaya S. Mills Hello Varatchaya ~ I hope you will enjoy making soap as much as I do. Food colors don't work for soap, because they stain the skin. You need to get colorants made especially for making soap. I use cosmetic minerals and mica in powder form. I mix the powder with extra light olive oil before adding to the soap. There are other types of colorants you can use like pre-mixed ones and liquids. You just need to make sure they are made for soap and are skin-safe. The same goes for glitters. Good luck to you! :) ione eve
Thank you sooo much really helpful information for me... I think I will enjoy making soap as I like to try things new all the time.. And before you answering me, I found the website that sale stuff about making soap at where I live. I'm sooo excited can‘t wait !! Lol thank you so much again. :-D
+Varatchaya S. Mills ~ I was very excited to start making soap too. I still love it after all these years. The only draw-back is, it can become addicting ~ LOL! Thank you for your kind compliments, and good luck in all your soap-making endeavors! :) ione eve
Hi Marc ~ to answer your question, I used Neon Blue Raspberry powdered mineral colorant from Brambleberry.com for the blue color in this Cool Water soap. Thanks for your inquiry, and happy soaping! :) ione eve
+Patty Poehls Hi Patty ~ thank you for watching my video and leaving the lovely compliment. To answer your question, the scent went very nice with the design. Since doing this soap Cool Water has become one of my favorite scents to use. :) ione eve
Hi Simone ~ Sorry I didn't post when these would be available in the video info. They will be available Feb.17, 2014. I try to post the new arrivals to the online store on my Facebook page ~ Eves Garden. Please "friend" me if you want to.
Hello Marie ~ thank you for contacting me. I'm happy to hear you want to start making your own handmade soap. Using handmade soap is healthier for your skin. I'm not really a teacher, so I'll direct you to Soaping 101 by Cathy McGinnis for help getting started. Her website has excellent recipes and tutorials. Here is a link: www.soaping101.com/ Best of luck in your endeavors. One word of warning ~ making soap can become addicting ~ LOL!
Hi Chris ~ Thank you for watching my video and your gracious compliment. I appreciate it very much. To answer your question, for the aqua color I used Neon Blue Raspberry powdered colorant from Brambleberry. The white, I colored with titanium dioxide and the black with activated charcoal. I hope this helps and happy soaping! :) ione
Hello Joann ~ thank you for watching my video. To answer your question, I use cosmetic-grade, powedered minerals and mica from Brambleberry. I mix them with extra light olive oil before using. When I first started making soap, I thought about using food colors, then remembered how they stain skin, LOL! :) ione eve
Gale Woods Hi Gale ~ thank you for watching and commenting. To answer your question, I used activated charcoal for the black, titanium dioxide and activated charcoal for the light gray, and neon blue raspberry mineral colorant from Brambleberry for the blue. I hope this helps, and happy soaping! :) ione eve
I made a batch of soap tonight and I'm a beginner and I made a mistake in making my own recipe, I put too much grape seed oil, I read afterwards not to use more than 5 percent, I used 20 percent I also added olive oil, avacado oil and coconut oil. I hope it doesn't come out too soft. I also added sodium lactate.
Hi Doreen ~ Welcome to soap-making, and congratulations on attempting your first batch. I hope you have a great soap! 20% grape seed oil is high, because grape seed oil doesn't harden. It's mostly used as a superfat (oil that doesn't turn into soap). It's great for skin, but does have some drawbacks. Beside remaining soft in the soap it needs to be used soon after purchasing, because of a short shelf life. If not, it can turn rancid in soap and cause DOS (dreaded orange spots). For these reasons, I changed from using grape seed oil to sweet almond oil. I would classify avocado oil as a specialty oil. I use specialty oils and butters at 5% in recipes. During saponification, the molecular structure of oils and butters change. Specialty ones are expensive and the qualities in a small amount are enough for creating a soap that is beneficial for skin. The main liquid oils I use are olive and canola. Olive oil is great for skin, but it does not lather well. I always add 3.5 -5% Castor oil with it so a nice lather is assured. Other than that for my recipes I keep coconut oil at 20% with a 5% superfat. If more coconut oil is used the superfat % needs to go up too, or the soap is drying to skin. My recipes have a 50% hard oil amount so I add palm oil and/or lard to make up the rest. If I use palm oil, the Castor oil amount is 5% since palm oil does not lather (like olive oil). The only other advice is to be careful with the percentage of sodium lactate you use. Too much causes soap to crumble. I know this is probably a lot to take in, but I wish I knew some of this when i first started. I learned it all the hard way, LOL! All the best on your next batch! Let me know how it goes? :) ione eve
cutflower Hello ~ thank you for watching and commenting. To answer your question, caustic soda and lye are terms for sodium hydroxide. They're used interchangeably. Best wishes for a wonderful day. :) ione eve
Very generous of you to show us how you make your soaps, we can and should create our own recipes but now you have shown us your technique, thank you so much. Kim from Oz
Hi Kim ~ thank you for watching and taking the time to leave such a nice comment. I appreciate it. Happy soaping! :) ione eve

Thank you, Yasmine ~ I'm kinda glad the white turned so thick. In some of the bars I see killer whales playing in the ocean, haha! ~ ione eve ;)

Hi Michelle ~ Thank you for watching my video. I love those fresh scents too! There is one scent called Kentish Rain that reminds me of ocean air blowing over an Ireland cliff onto the moors, fabulous! :) ione
Very pretty. It really does look like cool water.
sharon dixon Hi Sharon ~ thank you for watching and the lovely comment. I appreciate it. :) ione eve
Love it ... You made it look effortless . I am going to try and do this ... Thanks for sharing. !
Hi Giovanni ~ thank for watching and taking the time to leave a nice comment. I really like this design and have used it many times since making this video. One I made as a tribute to our football team came out especially nice. Here is a link if you would like to see what they look like. www.evesgardenhandmadesoaps.com/blog/archives/02-2014
they look picture perfect. you made a work of art !. I wish my batch I make this weekend has some decent looking results. thank you again for sharing.
Hi there, I tried this method today and I can't wait to see how it turns out! Thank you for sharing this with us xxx
:) ione
OH! Forgot to tell you I LOVE your sand and sea soap so cool!
Thanks, Eddie ~ Sounds like you're a soap-making addict (like me!) LOL!
:) ione eve
Yes! definitely up for trying new things!
you just amaze me with your talent.
Hi Charlotte ~ thank you for watching and taking the time to leave such a sweet comment. I don't know about talent ~ it's more like good luck in my experiments, LOL! :) ione eve
Wow this was amazing its beautiful
Great job! Bravo bravo
I appreciate the gracious comment ~ thank you so much! It's wonderful of you to share the video too! :) ione eve
This was a perfect blue for this soap. For me, it depicts the color of a beautiful tropical ocean. I really love your videos! You talk to us; ask us questions, he he, I answer you, too. Thank you for sharing! xoxo

+Mary Glitz Hi Mary ~ thank you for watching my video and the lovely comment. I hope you have as much fun making this as I did. :) ione eve
This is seriously the most impressive thing I have seen! Any tips for someone starting out on their Soap Making Adventure?
I appreciate you watching my video and the great compliment. Welcome to soap-making. I hope you'll enjoy it as much as me. My advice is watch lots of videos, LOL! Make sure to follow safety precautions, wearing eye protection and gloves. Also, don't spend a lot until you see if it's something you love. Find make-do tools and molds at first. Practice with cheap ingredients until you feel you've got the hang of it. Other than that ~ enjoy and let your imagination run wild. LOL! :) ione eve
Great video, fantastic product (my favorite color), adorable lady full of love for art and beauty ! Thanks for sharing all that Please keep it up.
Hello Parviz ~ thank you for watching and taking the time to leave such a gracious comment. You are so kind, and I'm very flattered.
:) ione eve
Lovely! I would love to know what colorants you use, they are so vibrant!
:) ione
Do I need to separate the hand blender from making soap and the food?
Hello Varatchaya ~ thank you for watching my video and commenting. To answer your question, it is always recommended to keep the equipment and tools used for making soap separate from those used for food preparation. Materials corrode with lye use, and can hold deposits that may poisen food. I hope this helps, and happy soaping! :) ione eve
EvesGardenSoaps Thank you so much.
You're very welcome! :)
:) ione eve
This is really good your the best at making soap
Thank you for watching and the gracious comment. I appreciate it. :) ione eve
Your skills amaze me - thank you for the inspiration
Did your friend like it?
Looks beautiful!
Thank you for watching and taking the time to leave a lovely comment. I appreciate it. :) ione eve
Beautiful blue!! May I ask what colorant you use for that lovely color?? Thanks for the videos! Entertaining and inspirational! :)
Hi Veronica ~ thank you for watching and the gracious comment. To answer your question, the blue color is Neon Blue Raspberry from Brambleberry. It's a personal favorite now! :) ione eve
I got the soap recipe down but don't know how much fragrance to put
Hello, and thank you for watching my video. A good rule of thumb for fragrance amounts is 5% of the total batch weight. If using essential oils it's 4% as skin is more sensitive to them. I hope this helps and happy soaping! :) ione
Hi Ione I love cool water reminds me of the beach
Hi Michelle ~ I really like Cool Water fragrance too. Not only does it smell like the beach, but it's wonderful to work with. I make some soap with the full scent and others I blend with different ocean/woods scents for a new fragrance. It's very versatile. :) ione
EvesGardenSoaps wow it sounds like itsmells wonderful
I call mine plop-designs at that point. lol. It usually still turns out to be a good soap, just not what you originally pictured in your head from the start.
that aqua blue is so pretty, what is the name? where can I get that color?
Hi Doreen ~ I love this aqua blue color too, and use it a lot. It's called Neon Blue Raspberry (cosmetic-grade powdered mineral) and purchased it from brambleberry.com
Ok thanks!
I will try that, soon, lye oil fragrance, yeah, I'll do that.Fantastic job.
+catchohgift Thank you for watching my video and leaving a nice comment. :) ione eve

Send me an invite, if you're interested.
:) ione eve
Does homemade soap's scent linger longer than store bought soap.
?
Hello Lauren ~ It all depends on the scent used, and at what strength. I imagine the same holds true for manufactured soaps. Thanks for watching my video! :) ione eve
Beautiful as always
But no information about how long take to use them, days month to this soups get ready to use.
OMG i love this awesome blue color my kids were asking me to make a hot pink one if u could make a video like that my girls would love it!!😀
Hi Brianna ~ thank you for watching and the lovely comment. I'll put my thinking cap on and try to come up with a hot pink soap design. Hummmm . . . . :) ione eve
Ty
I loved your soap, I've been looking into making some gift baskets for the holidays. What kind of coloring and where did you get it from if you don't mind me asking.
Hi Pertrisha ~ thank you for watching and the nice compliment. To answer your question, I use powdered mineral colorants/oxides/mica in my soaps. I get most of them from Brambleberry. I hope this helps, and have fun making holiday gift baskets! :) ione eve
I like your mould, do you use parchment paper?
Hi Doreen ~ thank you for watching my video and the nice compliment. I used freezer paper for lining this mold. I find it much easier to work with than parchment paper. Both have wax surfaces and work well for providing a non-stick surface. I've made mylar/silicone liners that I use most of the time now. :) ione eve
where can I get a mould like yours? thanks
Hi Doreen ~ All my wood molds are custom made for me by a friend. I like soaps to be a little wider than most molds on the market. There are several good mold makers on etsy to check out. :) ione eve
Oh ok. Thanks
That's very pretty! Thanks for sharing :)
Hi Suzette ~ I apprecite you watching my video and the lovely compliment. Thank you! :) ione eve
It looks great!
Thank you, Mel ~ I'm exploring your channel for a cutting video of Jungle Love. It looked yummy going together, and the hearts are so cute!
Well thank you too! Those little loaves are fun to make, I was looking at the molds last night when I was reorganizing my room and thought to myself that I need to use them sometime soon. They do make a little narrower bar, but they are cute because of that. I love the fragrance too, it is nice! :-)
Hi, I am a beginner soaping and I interesting of colors it just normal food coloring? any suggestion? thank you so much.

+EvesGardenSoaps Your soap looks really beautiful.... love it! thank you for sharing.
+Varatchaya S. Mills ~ I was very excited to start making soap too. I still love it after all these years. The only draw-back is, it can become addicting ~ LOL! Thank you for your kind compliments, and good luck in all your soap-making endeavors! :) ione eve
EvesGardenSoaps What did you use for the blue color in the cool water soap? And Where did you get it?
Hi Marc ~ to answer your question, I used Neon Blue Raspberry powdered mineral colorant from Brambleberry.com for the blue color in this Cool Water soap. Thanks for your inquiry, and happy soaping! :) ione eve
I love the colours! did scent match up well?
+Patty Poehls Hi Patty ~ thank you for watching my video and leaving the lovely compliment. To answer your question, the scent went very nice with the design. Since doing this soap Cool Water has become one of my favorite scents to use. :) ione eve
I didn't see this on the website...
Hi Simone ~ Sorry I didn't post when these would be available in the video info. They will be available Feb.17, 2014. I try to post the new arrivals to the online store on my Facebook page ~ Eves Garden. Please "friend" me if you want to.
Very cool. Good job!
Thank you for watching and the sweet compliment. :) ione eve
Your soap is beautiful but if we wish to make cold process soap, what are the quantities of all you products?
Hello Marie ~ thank you for contacting me. I'm happy to hear you want to start making your own handmade soap. Using handmade soap is healthier for your skin. I'm not really a teacher, so I'll direct you to Soaping 101 by Cathy McGinnis for help getting started. Her website has excellent recipes and tutorials. Here is a link: www.soaping101.com/ Best of luck in your endeavors. One word of warning ~ making soap can become addicting ~ LOL!
What kind of dye did you use? Your color scheme is awesome.
:) ione
Thank you so much!❣
Loving it .thanks for sharing
Thank you, Evelyn ~ I appreciate you watching and the great comment. :) ione eve
That is so pretty.
I appreciate you watching my video and taking the time to leave a sweet comment. Thank you! :) ione eve
You welcome. I enjoy your videos
It is a masterpiece! Brilliant!
Do you use food coloring or coloring for soap?
Hello Joann ~ thank you for watching my video. To answer your question, I use cosmetic-grade, powedered minerals and mica from Brambleberry. I mix them with extra light olive oil before using. When I first started making soap, I thought about using food colors, then remembered how they stain skin, LOL! :) ione eve
Thank you for your response
What type of color did you use?
Gale Woods Hi Gale ~ thank you for watching and commenting. To answer your question, I used activated charcoal for the black, titanium dioxide and activated charcoal for the light gray, and neon blue raspberry mineral colorant from Brambleberry for the blue. I hope this helps, and happy soaping! :) ione eve
gorgeous i love it!
Thank you, Joanne.
always add 3.5 -5% Castor oil with it so a nice lather is assured.
:) ione eve
Thank you for the helpful information. I will take notes from your information. 😅
You are very welcome. :)
what is the difference between Sodium Hydroxide , and caustic soda? or if there a difference?
cutflower Hello ~ thank you for watching and commenting. To answer your question, caustic soda and lye are terms for sodium hydroxide. They're used interchangeably. Best wishes for a wonderful day. :) ione eve
Beautiful soap
Thank you, Michelle! I appreciate you watching my video and taking the time to write such a nice comment. :) ione
