I'm in my mid 30's and I sometimes worry about how much longer I can game. John Carpenter warmed my heart by saying he is still a gamer.

john carpenter interview is not disappointing, he is so likeable
He used to be seen as a bit of a dick. Refused to talk about certain things for awhile (Halloween being the biggest example) and said he even hated the Halloween series including his original. And he's also mentioned only getting involved in H: 2018 for a big paycheck.
So he's either mellowed out, or just likes James lol.
Also though, makes great movies. In the Mouth of Madness, Escape From NY and LA (unpopular to love that one, but I do), The Thing, Halloween, Starman, They Live, etc. Classics. All of 'em.
@@BrokenGodEnt I couldn't agree more, he has largely been an asshole in interviews since Halloween III, definitely regarding the Halloween franchise. He seems to have mellowed out, and Chelsea and James conducted a great interview with him.

Haven’t seen anyone mention this yet, but I’m supper happy to see Chelsea finally being able to join these recent specials with James after missing so many occasions for how busy she was. I love James but seeing the two of them together is something else ❤️
John Carpenter is an absolute legend, The Thing, Halloween, Christeen, Big trouble in little China, Prince of Darkness, Escape from New York, The Fog, films that not only shaped my taste in movies but my very childhood.

These were some great interviews! I personally loved Halloween Kills for the reasons you said - it was a movie entirely dedicated to the people that live in Haddonfield, and it provides a perspective you don't often get from slashers like these.

John Carpenter is one of the few living legends we have left in horror. He’s not limited to the genre, but he’ll always be one of the masters of horror to me. So happy to see you both getting to speak with him!

David Gordon Green feels like someone I can really relate to. There’s a lot in the franchise I respect and enjoy, but I appreciate his take on the new films and his respect to the legacy of the characters and the films especially the original. Learning something new about his hobbies I had no idea about is great. We put him at a certain pedestal, rightfully so but he has other hobbies other than the genre, composing music and film making. I met Carpenter at a Spooky Empire show several years ago. We spoke on our upbringing and being raised in Kentucky. One of my fav convention interactions ever.
