Xerjoff Apollonia Fragrance Review W/ Sergio Momo
During my visit to Turin, Italy I was able to meet with the folks behind the Xerjoff brand. I shot two videos at the Xerjoff Boutique in Turn. One of them was my tour video which you can find here: • Xerjoff Turin Boutique... and the second video I shot with Sergio Momo was a review of one of the latest fragrances from Xerjoff called Apollonia. So this is my Xerjoff Apollonia Fragrance Review W/ Sergio Momo. Guys, I'm obsessed with this fragrance. It's not beast or anything overly strong but it's so gorgeous and sexy this one. It's all about Orris Butter from the Iris plant a bouquet of white flowers and white musk. Boy it's good though. I can't get enough of this gorgeousness. If you love clean, icy cold, creamy, buttery musky fragrances please do try Apollonia, It's a great fragrance for those who don't like it overly intense. Have you tried Xerjoff Apollonia from the Shooting Start collection? Are you a fan of Xerjoff? Please let me know, add a comment below so I can find out.
    Xerjoff - Apollonia

Grandissimo Sergio Momo!!! I have not yet had the opportunity to test all the fragrances of the brand .... but for what I have tested and purchased ..... I fell in love with Naxos, Alexandria II and 1888. Xerjoff is one of my favorite brands ... ... all the fragrances are always perfect in the composition. And surely this Apollonia too will be sublime on the nose and with a refinement and unique elegance. As shown by the bottle .... really beautiful !! congratulations for the new release Sergio. And thanks to you too Sebastian that you give us the opportunity to enjoy these beautiful interviews ... as well as in the previous videos ... always with Sergio. ^_^ I'm from Porto San Giorgio, Italy.

My favourite house , so it's always a pleasure to learn more. It's epically fruitful to learn from two people who I respect.
I have around two dozen Xerjoff fragrances , so sergios creations seem to bottle a little magic that comes out on me.
My favourite thing about the sound of this creation is , how they captured the moon. Something I look at every night ,it's fun to have an olfactive representation of that. It's such a unique inspiration. I love it. The fact we ponder so many things about the moon but smell is never one , it's incredible to have a fragrance do that for us.
My favourite from them is a tie between al khatt & fatal charme.
I'm from Ireland, wish everyone the best of luck 🙏

If you’re looking for something “Out of this world” - this is literally it.
I’m so glad you and Sergio were able to get into the artistry behind this fragrance because it signals that a brand can aim for both mad appealing scents AND embrace the passion for pushing creativity.
My current favorite Xerjoff is Uden. If I had a bottle of this it may change my mind...

I love that Xerjoff came up with a mutisensory product with this one. I saw the picture of the bottle with light underneath and it was other-worldly! Love the visual, the crescent moon engraved with the name. Love how Sergio said they wanted it to be cold and dusty like the moon. The white floral and white musk sounds hard-to-miss and a perfect combination for the lunar theme. Thanks for the interview and review! Nicole, USA.

I liked the question answer format of the review. Mixing the other senses with smell is an exciting idea and it would be so interesting to be able to watch a video of the multi-media presentation that goes with Apollonia. A fragrance commemorating an event also brings the aspect of time in to the story along with the other senses, so the story is very rich. The bottle is gorgeous as everyone is saying here and it was nice to hear it smells just like that bottle looks: clean, white, perfectly blended. Thank you!

I loved this review with Sergio Momo and his explanation of the multi-sensorial presentations that Xerjoff puts on in different parts of the world. I adore white floral notes, as I feel that their accompaniment in a perfume often creates something interesting and new. The lunar aesthetic of Appollonia is remarkably beautiful. Releasing a perfume to commemorate a major historical event is bold and exciting, and I hope Xerjoff do it again in the future. I hope I will get to try this perfume and Alexandria III, as I am still loving Alexandria II and would really like to experience the evolution from 2 to 3. I am from the UK.

This fragrance is so intriguing! I love the theme and motif of the moon as well as the “monochromatic” approach to the olfactory profile similar to Killian’s approach to Rolling in Love. Furthermore, I feel as the notes in this fragrance emulate the push and pull of the moon on the tides of the ocean. As if the alluring, sexy effect of the musk works to counteract the coldness of the distant moon. Would definitely love to get a bottle as it looks and sounds gorgeous! Sending love from Canada!

I loved the inspiration and how he described the moon as "cold, dusty, and romantic". I immediately imagined musk. Sure enough, white musk is the base. I adore how the visual description triggers the scent. I'm a big fan of Xerjoff, I own Uden Overdose (2nd bottle), 100ml of Alexandria II, Ibitira (old style bottle), and More than Words. I really enjoy these videos with Sergio, it’s great hearing him talk about his house’s perfumes. I bought a bottle of Naxos recently and it’s very quickly one of my absolute favorite perfumes. I’ve bought a number of sample sets from Xerjoff, but haven’t ordered a sample of Apollonia yet. It sounds intriguing! I’m sure it’s just as high quality as the rest of Xerjoff’s fantastic products. Greetings from Lexington, Kentucky, USA! What a great review. I am especially loving these reviews/first impressions that are in an interview format. I love learning the inspiration behind a fragrance's conception, and who better to explain that than the founder of the brand. Sergio is very well-spoken and really seems to love his craft. I love the idea of the fragrance being based upon the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. What an extraordinary way to commemorate such an event, and in a way that the 'regular' folk (like me) can experience the moon landing in his/her own way. I personally love concept fragrances and own a number of them, but they can often be challenging to wear (finding the correct occasion, etc.). Apollonia strikes me as a concept fragrance that will be very wearable especially since I adore white florals and white musk. Even if I don't win the fragrance, I will be definitely checking it out. I also love the bottle. Xerjoff was already one of my favorite bottle designs , but this particular one is very beautiful with the white and silvery elements. I does look like staring at the moon on a clear night...mostly white with darker areas where the craters are located. The bottle design represents that very well. I also like the name and think it is very representative of the moon landing as the craft was called Apollo 11. I actually just re-watched the movie Apollo 13 so immediately thought of the Apollo aircraft when I saw the fragrance name...even before learning this fragrance was based on the moon landing; otherwise, I probably would have thought of the Olympic god, Apollo, as I enjoy Greek mythology. I only have one Xerjoff fragrance at the moment which is 'Ivory Route' and it is currently my favorite from the house, but I only recently seriously started testing out the house. I am sure that I will be adding more from the house in the near future as I am enjoying much of what I have tested. Thanks for the giveaway and for the interview. It is extremely gratifying when an owner of a fragrance house shows so much interest in the customer base and actually requests honest feedback. I would love Xerjoff to do more 'concept' fragrances like this one as I am a sucker for such fragrances.

    Once upon a time...
Two men met at a bar.
    One wore a cap
    And one had a star.
The perfume guy asked: Tell me why?
    The elegant Sir politely replied.
They talked about orris, musk and flowers.
I certainly could’ve watched for hours...
Because I know those men so well.
They hunt, like me, the perfect smell.
They search and work and yet enjoy
The finest Xerjoffs, boy oh boy...
Which is, and will forever stay,
My favorite niche brand, by the way...
Greetings to you, Sebastian, and to Sergio Momo! I’d love to participate in this giveaway ❤️❤️ White musk is one of my earliest most pleasant olfactive memories, so I would love to win APOLLONIA. My favorite Xerjoffs are: Alexandria II (literally changed my life), Naxos, Cruz del Sur II, Comandante and 40 Knots, but I have yet to try so many more... Apollonia sounds wonderful note wise! I admire how Xerjoff manages to create olfactive stories with their fragrances while always adding an elegant and luxurious twist to their perfumes. You smell them and they take you on a journey... That is why I love this brand so much. I absolutely need to visit the exclusive shop in Turin one day... I live in Europe (Austria), by the way. Thank you for this video!

I have always been captivated by the Xerjoff brand, from the presentation to the scent experience they bring you on. Imo one of the best presentations in the game period, followed closely by Kilian. This is important to me as to me presentation is part of the whole package and Xerjoff certainly leads the pack. Coupled with the free sample kits with every purchase, there's nothing more that one can ask for, heads over heels for Xerjoff!
Love the description of how this deviates from the normal Xerjoff style but still is something absolutely enjoyable.

The concepts and artistry are present in their presentation. As a designer and artist myself this resonates with me. Apollonia sounds like a fantastic scent that is unique and different overall and for the house itself. Icy, cold, and white makes me think of an astronauts face shield frosting up as soon as he/she exits the shuttle while in space. That’s interesting that you say it smells like the bottle’s appearance. Feedback: I loved watching this interview because I really enjoy learning what the intent of the perfumer is, and how the process of creativity unfolds. I liked Mr. Sergio Momo’s sharing that this is an ‘experiment’ to honor the Moon landing, a genuine landmark event which set humankind on a new trajectory! To capture the essence of that seminal event into a perfume inspiration must have been challenging! “Where to begin?”, would have been my first question. So, it is lovely to see that it begins with the presentation with a beautiful white frosted bottle giving a visual representation of a full moon, and setting an expectation of something beautiful, enjoyable, and romantic (Sebastian’s choice of the term ‘sexy’ for this perfume makes me think this). Although I have not had a chance to smell the perfume, the choice of white flowers is perfect, and musk is ideal to creative an olfactory interpretation of the moon. Much like the story of how Beethoven composed the ‘Moonlight sonata’ to use music to communicate the beauty of the full moon for a blind girl, I see this as an attempt by Mr. Mono to communicate the essence of the moon and its exploration by humankind via the medium of smell - the sheer challenge of meeting that expectation alone makes me interested in Appolonia! So it makes sense that the unfolding of the perfume (can I compare it to the various booster rockets peeling off?) and its main essence should keep that romantic, full blooming moon in mind. And most importantly, I feel that the fragrance must leave a lingering experience etched in one’s mind which will always associate the moon with this fragrance. Finally, the choice of the name ‘Apollonia’ is perfect because it tips the hat to not only the moon, but to multiple moon missions which the Apollo missions represent. Just like multiple Apollo missions kept going back to the moon, I hope to keep going back to Apollonia to experience an olfactory salutation to our cosmic companion, the Moon.
Perfumes I like: Although I have not had a chance to try all fragrances from the House of Xerjoff, the 3 I have tried and liked so far are Naxos, Ivory route and Nio. Other perfumes I have enjoyed are Carlisle and Exclusif (PdM), Patchouli Intense (Nicolai), and Portrait of a Lady (Malle).
Comments on the video: For this presentation the Q&A format works very well. I particularly appreciate the fact in this video Sebastian attempts to capture what the creator and perfumer Mr. Momo had in mind and intended to express via his creative synthesis of Appolonia. For me ‘niche’, as represented by Xerjoff is not just about the perfume I wear and enjoy, but I love to learn how it came to be, what the inspiration or intent is, and this makes it so much more personal to me, so much more focused, and this is what I experience as ‘niche’! I also enjoyed the spartan beauty of the workspace with a beautiful chandelier and painting on the far wall, and a mysterious hint of a creative process represented by the multitude of bottles, beakers and vials in the background, which appear ready for the next creative ‘experiment’ to unfold.
Where I live: The Moon City where it all began: Houston, TX
Comments for Sebastian: Thanks for this excellent presentation, among your best.
Comments for Mr. Momo: Thanks for sharing your creative process, it gives Appolonia life!

Thank you for this great review. This perfume excites me. I love the concept of it being inspired by the moon landing but not just a literal take of that momentous event but more on what the moon embodies as a heavenly body as a mystifying and transcendental celestial object. I love white musk which i believe is the perfect scent for a moon inspired scent because white musk can be very romantic and almost alluring but there is a silent strength that comes with this scent. Its not bold and harsh but it projects a certain sense of importance and regality on the person who is wearing it. You guys mentioned a cooling effect which again would remind us of being up in space and again is in line with the multi sensory experience that Mr Sergio Momo would like us to experience with this fragrance. I imagine that this is what Matthew McCounaghey would have worn in the movie interstellar. Xerjoff is an amazing house and their name is synonymous to luxury and I would love to own this fragrance. I am from California USA

Very interested in trying this xerjoff release because their florals are so underrated. Mamluk for example has an amazing jasmine note that no one mentions! My favorite part of this video is that you get to review this fragrance in Sergio Momo's own studio. Watching from the U.S.

Sounds like a very interesting smell!
From the descriptions, I wonder if a bit of geosmin was used or considered for the composition. Although I guess it wouldn't fit that much with the clean/icy theme.
I liked how Mr. Momo described the process of creating the fragrance through the theme and the description of the event it was made for sounds lovely.

Sebastian, great review of Xerjoff Apollonia. I like the concept of a white floral fragrance that still posesses the masculinity due to the white musk and creamy sandalwood. I also like how this fragrance is named based on the Apollo moon landing that was 50 years ago. I would love to try this out based on how you describe the white musk harmonizing with the white florals. My favorite Xerjoff fragrance is Xerjoff Naxos. Thank you for the great content including this interview and fragrance review. I am from Ohio, USA.

Hey guys!❤️ This is a great review. I was very Interested in watching and listening to this review. I’ve never tried Xerjoff but I know this house is well loved. The bottles are so pretty, unique, and classy. What I like about this particular fragrance is that is dedicated to the moon 🌙☺️. The bottle has a beautiful marbled white and grey. Apollonia is a perfect name for this inspiration. I love the notes mentioned. White floral bouquet, musk, with a powdery creamy quality. This fragrance sounds as though it has a gravitational pull between two people that are in love☺️❤️🌙. Hands down super cool inspiration. This fragrance sounds so romantic. I will always be one of those people who admire the moon and all its beauty. Fragrance has a way to bring you a memory or take you somewhere else. I’m so in love with this creation😍very exciting fragrance!! With all my love, from the moon and back, great review, great description, and beautifully crafted bottle and fragrance🙌🏻. As a 9-year old boy it was one of the touchstone moments of my life when humans first walked on an extraterrestrial body. I applaud Sergio and Xerjoff for celebrating the 50th anniversary of this momentous occasion for our planet. The bottle is beautiful and is an excellent representation of the moon and the emotions it evokes. I look forward to trying this beautiful fragrance soon. Virginia, USA.

What a wonderful video! Ioved Sergio’s knowledgeable description and his honesty about this perfume being simpler than most Xerjoff. However, the cold, musky white florals plus iris note must make this a wonderful timeless, almost aristocratic creation. And can we talk about the presentation? This bottle is amazing! Thanks for this generous giveaway. From Romania, EU.

    Dear Sebastian and Sergio,
Thank you very much for your concurrence! I have already seen the tour and was fascinated.
It’s wonderful to see my favorite UA-camr and the founder of one of my most favorite fragrance brands “Xerjoff” together. The first and very important thing to say is THANK YOU!!!
Sebastian! I am so thankful that you keep going your way and let us experience your fragrance journey. Furthermore I thank you for giving me the opportunity to write to Sergio.
Sergio! I am very thankful for creating such an amazing and what’s more, very important brand that makes my life more gripping.
The main story behind my thoughts is something that honestly makes me feel so glad every time I think about.
I really have to mention it, until speaking about “Apollonia”.
I gave my father the fragrance “Renaissance” as a present and sadly my dad run out of this scent. But the most beautiful thing about this is, that he shared his last drops with friends and family after they were baptized. Yes! They were baptized. So every time they smell “Renaissance” they will remember this wonderful step of their life. It’s more than a fragrance...it is a feeling of joy and peace of mind!
So thank you so much :D
But now to stick to the point...
I really enjoy the scent “Apollonia”, although I have never smelled it. The image and its execution in terms of packaging and topic are insane. On the one hand it’s very modern, because of the shiny grey on the white, on the other hand it reminds me of something very classy, although it’s more experimental like you said Sergio.
The moon landing is a big talking point and has such an enormous purview in the world of fashion and art. For instance think about omegas moonwatch...
It’s a classy piece and to this day highly respected and often worn by big names.
So In my opinion the moon is a perfect chosen image and absolutely my taste!
By hearing about the ingredients of the scent I am reminded of my favorite fragrances. I really adore iris, what makes a fragrance very clean and wearable and white florals are matching the flacon perfectly, so I think it is a pretty good release. HONESTLY.
I can’t wait to put my nose on this scent and hope you give me the chance to win!
Hope you will meet together again and talk more about Xerjoff!
    Lovely regards
    Nick from Germany :)

Enjoyable video as usual. I just love your passion for high quality fragrances . Time sure flies, I follow you since the early days of your old , but not forgotten UA-cam channel called "Man Loves Cologne".
Xerjoff i find to be one of the best niche brands ever created. Of course I can't say i love all they got , but undoubtedly blended well colognes, variety is pretty big, so every fragrance lover should be able to find pleasing to his taste fragrance.
Apollonia I've never heard of, but it sounds really good, yet it is not overly complicated scent. Clean musk , buttery iris and white flowers.
Since Sergio Mome said that all feedback is important to him, so I'm about to share the only thing he did wrong last few years , to me of course. Changing the bottles. Personally I much prefer the older bottles. I'm sure it was a marketing decision, but still... Just before I started writing this post I was watching my older bottle of Mamluk , right next to my new bottles of Cruz del Sur II and Naxos, and I had to share my thoughts.
At this moment I own bottles of Lira , Mamluk , Cruz del Sur II , Naxos , Opera and Wardasina .
Nio and Kobe I had in the past . My favorite Xerjoff is Mamluk .
Thank you Sebastian, and Sergio Momo.

The bottle is absolutely gorgeous like it has been chiselled out of the moon. I believe the fragrance probably shines more bright at night just like the moon. The note of white musks intrests me most. It pays homage to the moon landing in 1969 great inspiration. The simplicity is the most attractive part of the scent. Thanks a lot from UK

This sounds like a BEAUTIFUL fragrance! I love the combination of white florals and white musk. It sounds gentle and sexy. I am relatively new to the Xerjoff house. I purchased Golden Dallah just within the past 2 months. I joined a Facebook Group called That's Amore that caters to those who enjoy Xerjoff fragrances. One of the members was so kind and generous to send me several small decants of his favorite Xerjoff scents, one being Alexandria. So I'm in the process of testing out several of the fragrances. I am absolutely smitten with Golden Dallah and feel so proud to own it! I'd be so thrilled to own Apollonia. It is a fragrance that I would also share with my boyfriend, since you both described it as being quite unisex. Thank you for such a generous giveaway! I live in the United States.
