I enjoyed it so much just an awesome video please do more of these with DANA!
We Miss Dana !!! Please Bring her back Please. I beg of you
Could you cover the 3 lotus absolutes and difference between lily and lotus because some people think they are same.
i like her. She knows her resins. Videos like this are needed. Everyone does reviews but the public that like fragrances such as myself, would like to be educated on the subject of perfumery. More videos should be made on fundamental subjects about perfumery, such as what is an accord, how fragrances are made, what are the true costs to making a bottle of fragrance and making it popular, why some perfumes are much more expensive than others. These topics would be interesting to discuss in the fragrance community.not just the typical review.
Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiih
I wish Dana had a podcast 😅 she gets off topic from the fragrances but she’s a wealth of knowledge and I could listen to her for hours lol
Please do more videos with Dana. She’s so knowledgeable, funny and dynamic. The two of you have great chemistry together. I feel like I’ve taken a master class about fragrances after watching this video. ❤️

This is actually really interesting, I don’t know how I never watched your channel. This is the kind of fragrance information I want, not just a review.
Dayna is back!!! Yay!!! Bring that knowledge girl.
I love when Dana goes totally geek! Burning resins in my burner in a great joy in my life. I pick resins in the mountains. 😊
Oh, that is glorious. Foraging is so, so under-appreciated.
Im excited to scope out trees up north this weekend, see if there are balsam fir on our land that I could harvest some sap from. Id like to make a varnish for a woodworking project.

You too have amazing sinergy! You both should have a chanel together, Seriously! I can tell the expertise, and passion in both. I am actually learning with you.
She's incredibly charming; and her charm comes mostly from her knowledge. But she's also good looking.
Absolutely lovely and fascinating woman.
why, thank you. Stick around, more where this came from :)
I absolutely enjoy watching you and Dana together. So informative and interesting to learn not only about resins but also some history. I love Dana's outgoing personality...I hope you guys do some more videos together.

Omg- love resins but pressed for time so I've GOT to watch later.. Resins💙...
I love anything with myrrh, probably my favorite fragrance note. I use to burn small pieces of myrrh in my apartment to relax - absolutely magnificent, but very expensive. Delightful and highly informational video. (Not a big fan of Frankincense.)
Great subject. And love when you have her on 👍🏼 She is very knowledgeable. Awesome video.
Bravo Dana! Warm regards from Romania - nice featuring and sharing of information!

And i vote for chyphre ftw!😁👍🏻
I'm in love with Dana. She could easily be a bond chick.waw The perfect balance of exceptional intelligence and beauty
LOL. Thank you, that I haven't heard before. "Dana Bond- kickin' ass since 1981" :)
I cannot get enough of her! Love!
I would love for you to do another video with Dana!
Very informative.
And for those who would like to search in Arabic.
Myrrh - شجرة المره
Frankensteins - اللبان
Hemorrhoids - بواسير !
LOL re Hemorrhoids! 😂😂😂
Lol, this made my day, thank you :)
This is an amazing video!! My favorites are benzoin and ambergris as of now
I am Christian Orthodox too:) Great and educative video guys! I have a question to Dana: why do you know so much about all the perfume materials? Did you educative yourself because this is an interesting topic for you or you have some professional background? Sebastian, you don't know what propolis is?:)))my faves are Labdanum (SEXY!) benzoin and tolu balsams
I love to say Propolis but I now know. But really I didn’t know it as Propolis. 😄
I don't have a pro background in perfumery, but studied Bio/Chemistry for 4 years and I'm a #nerd all over, lol. Like, I read stats and Psychology Today and learn new languages and watch Attenborough for fun :)))
Great episode 👍..also Dina looks bright ✨Very valuable information ..
Fun. Loved learning what you shared. Dana, you could take these resins and teach mini courses on them (florals for other classes and so on) and use the funds you generated to create your own fragrance!!! We'd buy it. 😙 (that's just a friendly smooch) Good luck to you
Like, where? You think people would pay to watch me talking about fragrant stuff??
I'm no perfumer either way... Merely a critic.
@@anoseknows Yes, I think people are interested in the subject. We all want to know those mysterious things about perfumery. For people to experience what you spoke of with their own noses is something people want, I think. You could see how much interest you get by mentioning the idea. Maybe use a meeting room at a library or something for the classes. One class focus on resins, one time on powders, one time on oils, then combining them as attars in another class, etc etc. I think many people are curious about the subject and I think 99% of us are very uneducated on matter. Clientele could be related people interested in perfumery; making perfume, sales clerks in Fragrance shops, hobbyists, people who want try making fragrances on their own, people who want to learn, fragrance addicts, do it yourselfers, people who want to meet cool people, artists, creative people. To me a perfume is like a poem in the air, a sort of haiku beyond words. I think many creative people feel the same way. Try it out!!! I'm in Tennessee but would pay to take a class from you were I could experience these scents and learn more. I'm sure loads of people in San Francisco would be interested. (In one clip I think you said you came from Romania? I traveled through Romania in 1994, Sigiswara (sp?), Drove across the country. Met and loved many wonderful strangers there who treated me like family. Had mystical experiences there as well. I have a soft spot for Romanians). You could: educate people, have fun doing what you love, meet like minded people, make some money, and maybe make something on your own. I'm sure you have it in you to create something great!
Dana is brilliant! I vote for Chypre next!
thank you much, stay tuned :)
I love resins and balsams. One of my favorites in my collection is Hermes EDM (the orange one).
Great video Seb and Dana, she is just so fun I completely lost track of time and didn't notice it had been an hour. Please do animalics more broadly with her, doesn't matter if it blows out in time.. I'll be glued to the screen if she's on
why, thank you :)
Love the nerdiness! Info info info, yay!
That power powder pink color on her lips looks great!
I would like the next one to be about fruity notes. But all that you mentioned are very interest
Guggul also is a resin from a tree of the same name used (burned) in rituals of Tibetan Buddhism.
I know I'm late to this video but im loving these collabs with Dana. There is something about her that I find extremely attractive......
's probably my brains, although I gotta say, I have killer boobs and can cook up a storm 🤘🏼
This was amazing thank you!! Please do an animalics, even if you do many I will watch!
I’m also keen to hear about fruits from fig to yuzu to dark rich pomegranate to pineapple to anything you want to discuss! I’m all ears!
wow. so educational I feel so slow to the fragrance world but thanks to you and many more I'm learning so much . totally enjoyed the video today
Heya, that was sooooo interesting !! thank you so much to you both. As a woman working in beauty retail I loved the nerdy part because you know, nowadays we're taught to sell perfumes with emotional strategies and stuff which, I agree is part of the selling process and I too associate perfumes to some periods of my life or things I've gone through, moments I enjoyed... but man you also need to know the notes and where they come from !! I'm also facing more and more passionate people, be it from the industry or customers, so I need to be up to par haha.
Also, resins are my favourite type of fragrances so that was a terrifcly deep watch for me.
By the way I have to say the face Dana is making each time she is speaking French is cracking me up LMAO hahaha (and girl I'm half French, half Sicilian so there is no offense in this)
I vote for CHYPRE of course cuz it would be tremendous to hear about oak moss and all that goodness, as I think sometimes chypres are underrated and looked at as "old school" perfumes though they're amazing !!
have a good day Sebastian, I don't have time today to watch your top 20 but will surely do ! :)
:) merci, cherie :) (I know what you mean, BTW, every time I say something French I think of the cat memes on fb, lol)
There’re plenty of rock rose shrubs here in NorCal.(Sacramento area) On a hot day when I’m biking I always smell labdanum,I figured out it’s coming from those shrubs, but I never knew they actually make labdanum out of this plant. Thank you for such an informative video.
They're related (and the flower, if you smell it, is slightly honey-benzoic), but the labdanum I'm showing is not from the purple-flower ones we see in California, but a white-flower bush sometimes called "gum rockrose" or "brown-eyed rockrose" :)
Thank you for the reply!
I really enjoyed this vid. Very informative and interesting because she actually has quite a lot of knowledge on all the substances you two mentioned!
Love this video! Love Dana!😍
Fantastic lesson about origins of perfumes, more like this one please!
You got it!
thank you so much for making this video, I really love the nerdy stuff.
I love this video so informative, really big thumbs up. Please bring her more and please give exaples if fragrances where these notes are dominant. Thank you so much!
I want to be friends with Dana!! Awesome knowledge and energy! Thanks, this was fun!
Great video!
As a fragrance lover(and a Greek Orthodox too) love it.
YAY. Lot's of orthodox on the channel! :)
Bijan has a gorgeous leading benzoin note. That’s my favorite.
