I used to listen to this song a lot and fantasize about my abuser being put to justice. NOW I’m coming back after she has been! She can’t work with kids anymore alone and is on legally binding watchlist! Banger ending for me, now I just gotta outlive her and have my second victory dance to this song fr.
A song that's a "love letter" to the writer's now deceased abusive relative. To the person he hated the most, but was the most important person in his life.
Am I the only one who thinks this is about the death of an abusive parent? Particularly the line "You now live in the mirror, when I look there you are" which really hits hard when you look like the person who abused you and every time you look in the mirror you are forced to see their face instead of your own.
The closest person you despise you see yourself become them, kinda like die a hero or live long enough to be the villain except it’s either win as a hero or become the villain, but you can break away from what they do with enough work, my experience wasn’t with a parent it was with a manipulative girlfriend and it’s taken a lot of time and realization that I was acting like her, anyway the point being you are who you choose to be even if you don’t like who you are now
@@pirateskull1819 full edition was the one with the two cds, the second having this track, Hair Baby, Making Ladies, Transistor, Contact High, and a remix of Don't Feel Like Dancing. I own the full edition, but the track Ambition - which is also supposedly from the album - isn't on it, any clue why?
LYRICS If anyone was headed for the gates of hell I knew you'd be first I used to picture your obituary and I wished you the worst The danger of the playground The radio said you drowned And I'm sorry Almost Almost sorry No sympathy is given to the perpetrator charged with the crime I'm willing to admit that it feels good to be a victim sometimes And I won’t ever get to thank you for the terrible things you said 'Cause I'm sorry Almost That you're dead to the world Where I hoped you would be Never imagined you'd live on in me You gave me destination but I paid for the ride The place you punched my ticket left a crater inside Where I cried (he cried) Where I cried (you died) Where I cried from the bruises Learned to live with the scars Now you live in the mirror When I look there you are You're the shadow on the faces of the people I meet Have you claimed eternal shotgun in my passenger seat? Well I'm sorry Almost Almost sorry Sometimes the best design is done by damage The accident can cease A rainbow still looks pretty when it bleeds

Not a fan of sharing my traumas online but I remember listening to this song 4-5 years ago and loving it, but I never fully understood the lyrics. Now coming back to it and realising that it reminds me a lot of my abuser. "The rainbow still looks pretty when it bleeds" hits me hard every time, making me remember that even if I'm hurt or feel like I'm broken, I'm still there and I'm worthy of love and being treated right
I recently bought the album this is from on itunes and I felt like something was off with the album from when I used to listen to the album... I was right! For some reason the album doesn't include this song.. it was one of my favorites so I'm extremely bummed about that.. I can't seem to find it at all on itunes:/
Thanks UA-cam for reminding me of my narcissistic manipulating ex that I haven’t had contact with in 20 years with this catchy ditty i’m going to listen to for the next several days, because it hits my dopamine in all the right ways 😂😂😂
This song perfectly describes how I feel about my ex-friend from 7th grade edit: relizing the detail of "from 7th grade" makes it sound like i've been holding on to this for like, 20 years, it hasn't been, and he is still a big uptight prick Edit #2: It's been a year since this comment was made, and I want you all to know, we're in the same club now, and he's a slightly better person now that I can somewhat stand
i cant help it....in a first half i hear something stupid - sinatra and in the second is My Chemical Romance - Teenagers ...the melody is slower but i hear it in...
Im VERY MAD i had no idea this paul williams scissor sisters joint existed. I dont usually see it included with the other Ta Dah tracks. And i thought i was a fan. But im glad this song is in my life now
Can anyone find where to buy this song?? Everywhere I look this song is related to the album ta dah but also everywhere this song isn’t on any of the tracks? Please help me out :(
it was on the bonus disc of ta-dah. I think it was only available in europe (and japan?). Maybe you can find it on ebay? But sadly the bonus songs aren't on any streaming service :(
I'm almost sorry for ratting out Jesus... Almost... Almost sorry... But then again, no sympathy is given to the perpetrator judged with the crime. And I'm sorry, almost...
It was technically a bonus track, and was only released in the FULL edition. the full edition has two CD' the second had this track, Hair Baby, Making Ladies, Transistor, Contact High, and a remix of Don't Feel Like Dancing.
To this day I'm still devastated this isn't on spotify

I’m pretty pissed that this isn’t on Spotify’s Ta-Dah playlist
ME TOO :(
Same dude-
They are almost sorry about that
It's because it wasn't on the album (sort of)
It was only on the Full Edition of the album which had a VERY limited release

LYRICS
If anyone was headed for the gates of hell I knew you'd be first
I used to picture your obituary and I wished you the worst
The danger of the playground
The radio said you drowned
And I'm sorry
Almost
Almost sorry
No sympathy is given to the perpetrator charged with the crime
I'm willing to admit that it feels good to be a victim sometimes
And I won’t ever get to thank you for the terrible things you said
'Cause I'm sorry
Almost
That you're dead to the world
Where I hoped you would be
Never imagined you'd live on in me
You gave me destination but I paid for the ride
The place you punched my ticket left a crater inside
Where I cried (he cried)
Where I cried (you died)
Where I cried from the bruises
Learned to live with the scars
Now you live in the mirror
When I look there you are
You're the shadow on the faces of the people I meet
Have you claimed eternal shotgun in my passenger seat?
Well I'm sorry
Almost
Almost sorry
Sometimes the best design is done by damage
The accident can cease
A rainbow still looks pretty when it bleeds
I think for the second last line it’s “concedes”
I want some one to play this at my funeral
I want them to play "still alive" at my funeral
Same
mood
I want both songs at my funeral

So basically this about someone murdering a rival and then they are haunted by the spirit of the victim? So a 'I can't decide' sequel?
Is this from a movie?
