My mum was from Wuppertal. Dad sent me this video link. They immigrated to Australia in the 1960s, where I was born. Since then, I met a French girl, had a family, and now I live in the south of France. I only visited Wuppertal once, to meet my mum's side of the family about 15 years ago. But I think I'll need to visit again one day. Thank you for sharing!
My mom died yesterday of cancer, she loved watching your videos and showing me. Even in her last hours, Crazy how something so small as watching UA-cam can make someone feel a lil normal in bad times. Thank you.
Sorry for your loss, WOW I know how that hurts, i lost my mom not long ago and I'm still suffering, i had a similar relationship with my mom as Mike does with his mom, I took my mom all over the place to see new things and go eat. I miss her SO!! I am so sorry for the loss of your mother.
The German’s really do own all of the engineering. They’re very orderly and the trains look like nothing in the east, but I’m sure you already figured that out. Lol
@@victoriafisher6934He said that the part of the Autobahn where they were riding was only allowed like 75mph max. Speed. Unfortunately not everywhere on the Autobahn is no speed limit. There are certain sections where it is and isn't allowed to ride full speed, but I have the strong feeling that they slowly but surely place more and more speed limits😡 Yea, the 'Wupper' is the river underneath the "Hover train"- 'Schwebebahn'.
The Wuppertal suspension railway may be unique, but it is not the only suspended monorail in the world. For example, suspension railways also operate in Dresden, Japan and the USA. But the Wuppertal “Langen monorail suspension railway system” is the oldest and therefore a model for all later systems.
Back in the 1970's when I was stationed in Germany I took a trip across Germany from Zweibrucken to Bremen to pick up my Toyota corolla car. then drove all the way back getting lost and helped by locals, memorable trip.
Hard to believe the transport system was that old. They sure keep it looking great! Loved seeing your sweet mom. Her smile is infectious 🥰. You’re so lucky to spend time enjoying each other. Keep the awesome videos from Germany with mom coming! And ones with your German friends too!! 🤗
Aloha GIV Tolles Video danke das du mir meine Heimat zeigt. Natürlich wie immer einen lieben Gruß an deine liebe Mama Dein Fan from Kona Hawaii Tschüß Aloha
It's a public transit line that some people use for commuting to work. Of course they have to maintain it properly. I visited this thing a few years ago, and I was surprised to learn that. I had previously thought it was a special tourist attraction, but nope, it's regular public transit.
Being a railway fan, the Wuppertal Suspension Railway video amazed me. When watching videos from Germany and neighboring countries, the cleanliness always impresses me. But the filthy underground passageway really surprised me. It would be wonderful to be able to visit Germany, Switzerland and neighboring countries which form my ancestral history. I am told that there is an Ihle river as well as a small town by the same name.
My wife Gisela and I enjoy your Germany video's. My wife came to the U.S. as a child from Germany back in the 50s. We wish you and your family best wishes.
God I miss my mom , lost her 2 years ago , but I love every video you have with your mom!! She is an adorable lady, GIV love every minute you can with her .
Love seeing your mom and your hometown and area's around there!! I can't even see places in the USA so this is really something special. Being handicap I'm stuck indoors so I truly appreciate. You and your mom Take Care and Stay Safe.
I lived in Germany years ago when my husband was stationed in schweinfurt . Loved the food/ beer fest. It took me 3 tries but I got my license, much harder than the states. All the signs and right aways. A place where you could have 3 seasons in one day.
I had a great time G.I.V. and a great time with mom thank you for sharing your a great tour guide too love the sights my friend you both stay safe and God Bless 🙏
All my life I wanted to go to Wuppertal, but now I am too old, but watching you and your mum, is the next best thing, absolutely loved this video thank you.😊🥂
Thanks Mike and your adorable beautiful mother .....one of my favourite of all your videos as its full of love and mindfullness and beauty ....woke up depressed but the GIV and MIV (mom in Venice ) brightened my day ....good health to you both from Ireland .

Because I never leave my state of Florida, let me say thank you for the opportunity to travel to Germany and site see! ❤ amazing place and your Mom is fortunate to have you.
This brings back some great memories for me, first and last time I rode on the Wuppertal Schwebebahn was about 35 years ago while visiting a friend in Dusseldorf. We went to Wuppertal for a day trip, just to ride the Schwebebahn. As a Brit, I'd never seen anything like it in my life!
Mike I was thinking about you today... wondering how things were going. I was so glad to see you and your mom. I've always wanted to visit Germany. My great-grandfather Mohr was born and raised in Germany.. he came to the US I believe it was in the 1920s. I'll never make it over there, but you and your mom have taken me to quite a few places. Thank you so much for sharing with us. I really enjoyed this video. Love seeing you and your mom enjoying yourselves.... love to you both.
Love it!!! Great video! Thanks for letting us see your part of the world. Where you grew up and where your mom lives. So cool! It makes me miss Europe so much! I used to live in London. But never went to Germany. Your mom is so cool. Great woman. It’s so nice that you went there to see her again. I’m sure she really appreciates it too. Show us more of Germany when you can. Have time. 👍
Ich bin Hamburger, lebe eine Ewigkeit schon in Kalifornien, habe eine Schwägerin in Krefeld wo ich oft bin und bin noch nie in Wuppertal gewesen! That is now on my „bucket list!“ Danke für die vielen guten Videos!
Ein Mal ins Leben,in Wuppertal Schweben......years and years ago, I strayed many miles from my Autobahn route just to see this marvel. Worth every minute !
Thanks so much for this video.Bought back childhood memories of travelling on this as an 8 or9 year old in the 1960’s felt like I was flying through the air , finally able to understand its history 🙂
Since I married a Wuppertaler, we were married in the Kaiser Wagen of course: ) When you sign your marriage certificate the Schwebebahn has to stop because you're not allowed to get married in motion I guess *lol* And they let you pick your favorite place to stop, so we picked over our church, the Hauptkirche in Barmen. Thanks to your video I now know that the Firma MAN was involved in building the Schwebebahn. They also made the famous Muengstener Bruecke in Solingen and all the city busses and LKWs today, still. I lived in Barmen for 2 years and fell in love with the screech of the Kaiser Wagen like the locals. I rode the Schwebebahn to my German class every day. Glad your mom finally got to ride it.

Lovely scenery. Mom is precious as always.
I am 76 and a new follower from NJ. That transport system was more impressive than the Eiffel tower.
I’m jealous because you get to go back and watch all his cool videos for the first time. You’re going to have fun.

Over 100 years old, but still looks highly futuristic! Very cool transport system!
Your Mom could not be sweeter or more adorable. She radiates joy. 🥰
The Germans built that in 1900 says a lot about the engineering! Amazing thanks for sharing it, never knew about it.

Netflix should produce a global travel show with the GIV. He has an incredible talent to inform and entertain. 10/10 on the likability scale.

Hello Sweet Mom from the USA we Love You,thank you for giving us the GiV you did a great job MOM.
MAMA!!!!! I miss you my Love! Praise God you are doing well and God bless and keep you always. ❤
It’s amazing that they had the ingenuity way back in the late 1800’s to build such transportation
They didn’t have iPhones and Androids back then lol! I miss socializing face to face!
Your mom look very sweet.....so nice you both hangout.
The cleanliness and efficiency of the public transport there is impressive.
