I am trying to buy a ps vita but I don’t knowing the best prices are right now. Also what do you think is the best marketplace to buy them, I am in upstate NY state and there are like none around my location in pawn shops or Facebook marketplace

You wanna scour eBay or Japanese proxy services like Buyee. I got mine in pretty good condition with a charger and case for about $130 so that’s a good starting price. Remember to always inspect the photos to make sure it’s not too damaged because lighting can hide scratches quite well.

You can get one in fair condition fairly cheaply, and then bridge the gap with buying assorted parts. I bought one that had just a few scratches on the front, and replaced buttons, button pads, battery, glass screen protector, and a little high percentage Isopropyl alcohol with cutips to clean out the whole thing. I paid maybe $140 for the Vita, and less than $60 for all the parts, and I took apart the Vita, cleaned it, and when I was done installing homebrew on it, I used a plug-in that recalibrated the battery. It looks nice, the battery lasts a really long time, and it even plays like it was new, thanks to the parts replacement. I also have a PSP that I tore apart and placed into an all new shell, because the old shell had dings on the screen. If you develop the handy skills to replace parts on these handhelds, you can make them like new at a mere fraction of the cost it would take to specifically buy a "new" one, or pay someone to do it for you.

If you're using the pspgo internal memory, make sure the VSH and Game txt is ef0: not ms0: inside of the seplugin
