the movies only JUST managed to keep up with the actors ages. And movies have to shoot significantly less hours of footage than a whole season of television. I fear they will fall behind rather quick. I mean, look at Stranger Things! 4 seasons down and the kids are straight up adults now. By the triwizard tournament, Harry's gonna be pushin 20.
I would love it if they went with an animated route, but the money just isn’t there. No matter how fantastic an animated show is, it just won’t reach live action levels of revenue. I know a lot of people love the idea of a marauders tv show, which I think could be cool, but also would probably suffer from people misunderstanding James and the other characters that would star in that show. I think going with a Hogwarts legacy route would be much more interesting, going back far enough to not connect to Harry, or Voldemort, and just trying to capture the magical world. I still think the best idea is animation but it just won’t happen, unfortunately. Edit: Fantastic vid btw, editing was great, you really deserve more love.
I felt the same way. Before I decided to stop supporting the franchise in any way, I'd always thought the series would have been perfect for an animated adaptation and would have loved to see it. Like, in terms of the the potential for creative visuals after watching shows like Little Witch Academia and seeing how they portrayed magic in an animated form, I thought the could really run wild with it in that medium. I remember liking how the visuals in the earlier videogames (not bound by needing to try and look convincing in a live action setting) were allowed to be more outlandish in places, before they just became bound entirely to replicating the movie aesthetics. But let's be honest, depending on if/when this series finally gets made, given the trends of live action streaming shows, it's probably gonna be filmed on largely greenscreen sets, filled with technically impressive, but ultimately empty CGI and colour graded into barely readable visuals.
I was just about to say that. I've had this opinion for years, but if the series were animated in the style popularized by Into the Spiderverse, people would fall madly in love.
i don't want a reboot. I want a movie about the Founders of Hogwarts! i have been dying and waiting for that to happen! They deserve a film adaptation!
This series needs an animated show. With every book being as long as it is, it would require several hours of material, but kids age too quickly for that to happen. That's why it needs to be animated. Every book can be a season, the first one being the smallest of course. It being animated would also separate it more from the movies.
@elisehalflight Doesn't bloody matter Jk Rowling is responsible for HarryPotter, Fantastic Beasts and wizarding world.... Without her they'd be no hogwarts legacy. So if the haters were so many .... hogwarts legacy would have failed critically and financially and it avoided failing . Also book sales went up for Rowlings books even during the controversy and covid period
@@sppotterstark8057 yeah, they're a noisy minority, only because journalists like to give them a voice, to generate engagement. The general public does not care for the manufactured drama.
The show will be a hit even if it’s worse than the movies because the fandom is still alive and it’s not the same like with the LotR show , I’m only 20 and HP is something everyone in my generation knows about, so money won’t be an issue there’ll always be a huge audience
my question will always be why specifically Ron harry and Hermione to recreate because those children will have there lives ruined no matter who it is because let's be real here they might be good actors but in most people eyes they will never live up to Rupert Daniel and Emma and I've seen people begging for a marauders tv show forever but not a single soul wanting a remake of what most consider the best adapted series of all time
Fully agree, but even worse is that there won't be a Chris Columbus around to gatekeep and vet for children whose parents were really there supporting their kids and which we're very clearly hoping to get an easy paycheck. He saw how fame affect Macaulay Culkin and his family after _Home Alone_ and did his damnest not to repeat that. Given not one of the main actors have had any hard luck stories after the movies wrapped up, I'd say he's been successful on that. For as much control as Rowling has over the franchise, I fully expect she'll be scouting for the worst kind of controlling "gender critical" cultists families in a manner than will make the devotion expected out of North Korean citizens to the Kim family seem open minded by comparison. And we know GCs have no respect for anyone's autonomy, least of all their own children in any aspect of their lives. I can't imagine any parent with any knowledge of her politics opening up their child to the dog piles they will inevitably receive by people who have never grown up. It's a terrible situation all the way around.
I can't imagine the idea of replacing the great Alan Rickman, Richard Harris, Michael Gambon and everyone else who put their heart and soul in the movies :(
Meh. I cant imagine somebody replacing Christopher reeves esp after what happen to him. Then harry Cavill happened. Now I can't imagine who can replace him.. It won't be long that we gonna forget the old harry esp those actor is struggling to get a big budget Hollywood movie. When they do HBO reunion. I hope jk won't invite them. She owns potter so i hope they scrap the Internet of old potter and flood them with new ones
What about an animated series? Is Cheaper, no alterations of the wizarding theme park needed, no problem with main actors quitting (like the witcher). Why not? Would love to see an animated series of Harry Potter in the style of Arcane.

They did try to make some original movies set in the Wizarding World: The 'Fantastic Beasts' . Fans didn't like them, and Warner decided to scrap the series after the third movie in a planned 5 movie series. 'Council of Geeks' made a great video explaining that the TV series was announced to appease Warner shareholders into staying invested. "Look! We own the rights to this very lucrative IP! We can turn our financial situation around, I swear it!"
The entire thing is stupid. The first 3 movies cut extremely close to the book canon, so there’s almost nothing they can add to those stories that hasn’t already been shown on screen; so the benefit of the story being a TV show with more time to tell the story doesn’t even kick in until book/season 4. On top of the fact that HP fans have been begging for any kind of Marauders movie series/TV show since the main series ended. It would’ve been a no-brainer. But i don’t even want that now because I don’t want J*anne to ruin the beautiful marauders fandom that’s been created by the fans
Fandom creates tropes and cliches and superficial traits like focus on good-looks , stereotypical diversity and sexuality bending Fandom wouldn't exist without Joanne you hateful lot.
The world is so vast wizarding goes back thousands of years there's 11 confirmed wizarding schools they legitimately could have done ANYTHING else but went with a reboot... I would have loved to seen the other schools perspectives on that timeline because every wizard feared Voldemort worldwide.. What did they have planned? Did they know of HP and his connection to Voldemort? Also I'm transgender MtF and I'm still going to love Harry Potter no matter what. I won't let the artists idealisms ruin something that brought me pure joy as a kid, A character I could relate with who felt exactly the same.. Abused/neglected.. Harry Potter means a lot to me.. I turned 11 on Halloween (no lie 10/31) so a bit before the character of Harry Potter in story.. So I legitimately grew up with Harry Potter.
Hot take: a show or movie series about another school, but set in the same time frame as Harry's stay at Hogwarts. JK has written these detailed descriptions and lore about every other school in the official Wizarding World webpage, producers and screenwriters have material to take from. This already sets up strong plot lines close to the source material. Because of its origins tied to Scotland, a good candidate could be the American school, Ilvermorny. Plots could be how they tried to get selected, and failed into participating in the Triwizard Tournament, threats from the American Death Eaters and how Voldemort's rise and then war impacted the US and Ilvermorny itself while having their own antagonist, yada yada... The endless potential of this IP seems to be overlooked by everyone that's either in a business-only mindset, or not that big of a fan. Just look at the mess of the Fantastic Beasts movies.
TERRIBLE IDEA?????? Whatttt?????? Do you really think the films rn is better than books? I couldn't even see a decent fight between Voldemort and Dumbledore, and the dark impression the book shows us.
When the DCEU was not working, WB just didn't know what to do and then they just cancelled that universe. The HP tv reboot maybe going on the same path especially with all of the controversies and compitition with the HP movie series.
Why not a Chamber of Secrets history movie or season? Like, all about Myrtle and Tom the first time the chamber was opened with flashbacks to Slytherin making the chamber and his dubious dynamic with the other founders.
I have mixed feelings about this. Some of the scenes and characterizations in the movies were great, and others were...not so great. A new series could fix a lot of the problems of the movies, but you risk losing some of the strengths. Even if you can get J.K. Rowling to write the whole screenplay herself! For example, and IMHO: The Good: Hagrid's character was better in the movies, in the books he oftentimes either broke down in tears or flew into a rage, and it made him seem like a child sometimes. The Bad: Movie Hermione was given many of Ron's best moments, whether they made sense or not, which made him seem like a joke of a character, and her like a superhero!
Rebooting Harry Potter as a streaming show is a dumb idea. No matter what they do or how accurate the show to the books are they can never reach the massive generational and global influence and success of the movies. People want new stories, new characters and new settings in the Wizarding World and I'm saying this as a huge Potterhead. They kinda already did that with the Fantastic Beasts films with the only problem with it being not planned as an overarching saga.
It's a good idea to plan for now ahead of time as they will need to plan multiple seasons for each book / movie they have to adapt and not only that they will have to find new ways to improve/ make each season as original but not as similar to the book adaptation and Movies while still extending on them with the stuff they couldn't add on to each movie they made
here's a take I'm not sure many will have 1st hand experience of. I'm an actor. Not a prolific actor by any means - some commercials, a tv show credit, a low budget feature. But I have to reckon with the reality that the Harry Potter TV show will film in the UK where I am based. There will be casting calls for hundreds of roles. My agent will likely submit me. What if the chance of a lifetime lands at my door? What if I get to play a minor role, no matter how small, in an HBO show? That would skyrocket my visibility! But I also hate transphobia. I cannot stand the views of J K Rowling. I'm likely to refuse! This is just how contentious this tv show is. Rowling has made the franchise toxic, so much so that even small time actors like myself would genuinely consider turning an offer down because of J K Rowlings transphobia. There is no chance that HBO will get a dream cast together. Direct offers to named actors will be rejected. The only way I can see this work, is if HBO bet the farm, and buyout JK, with an insane multi billion dollar deal. And then somehow make the greatest TV show the world has ever seen. I don't like those odds.
Honestly I think the "it's just on the internet" agument is flawed, for she has influence in the world outside both via money invested and, hell, she's even been cited by several politician in support of bigoted views. Idk, lately I've come to appreciate more and more things that end, so I am on the side of putting the franchise to rest and try to find somthing new. I hope I don't come off as too negative, the video was well reasoned and I appreciated it.
On the internet isn’t flawed because the only people who tend to care are the far left who where never customers and jut want virtue signal so they look good and usually the people who hate can never point to any evidence that actually makes her look bad. Every time someone hears their hate for playing something like Hogwarts legacy they know it’s very small minority. All you need to see is the current scandal with Babyinc after people found their the reason bad story writing in gems and why theirs random forced diversity tehri supports are the same people who hate hogwarts legacy but their losing as their in the minority the only reason this minority is heard so much is they have influence in the gaming media as this minority can often be found working as game journalist and games journalists tend to have good connections within games companies but as people are finding it’s not profitable or popular to listen to those types of people
i agree this is going to end in disaster. Also i don't think anyone is going to watch it as they plan to not make any changes to what we have already read or watched before
While I wish JK Rowling would cool it, the whole reason a person transitions is due to not feeling like they belong in their own body (often after being torchured for years by said feeling) Trying to rip away the little relief they get and spamming “you’re not a real woman” is essentially just kicking someone who was already down which is what she’s devoted all her time and energy to now And based on her commentary she either doesn’t care or doesn’t understand that That being said the Harry Potter franchise is massive worth about 25 billion so even 10% of that is still a massive cash cow (and I doubt it would shrink that much) of the fans who disagree with JK not all are willing to boycott a series that means the world to them Plus there is growing commentary on how the books are different from the movies these days (would be nice to see Ron retain his good moments for example) I think it would be much easier for people to boycott a sequel series than it would the original, so its actually brilliant if not diabolical
Different route… we take all the characters from the Cursed Child (I’m talking about the parents and the kids only, not Delphi) but it would just follow Albus and Scorpius’ life at Hogwarts. Sounds weird but just hear me out on this.
“Remake” “Reboot” Harry Potter is a book series. Even as someone who’s never read the books and loved the films growing up I still feel like people see Harry Potter as a series of films that have novelisations instead of the other way round. So they can’t disentangle Harry from Daniel. It might actually be good. It might be bad. Either way I’m open to a new *adaptation* of the *book series*. Hogwarts Legacy not only let us see nuanced angles to the different houses, Hogwarts looks even better, even with the same exterior and similar interior as the film version. Again I grew up with those films and I’m always going to love them, but the films and the concept of Harry Potter (which the series, like the films is set on adapting) are *not* one and the same.
The best idea for an alternate wizarding idea, would be an alternative concept altogether. As a Millenial, while not as fervernt in their fandom as some, I read the majority of the books, saw all the movies. But, nostalgia can go only so far when the author is not only being extremely Transphobic, but also inspiring lawmakers in both the U.K and the U.S., to push for anti-lgbt policy. Using her words. Using her shoddily written essay. Hell, that's not even mentioning the most current aspect of her denying part's of the Holocaust, and all that anti-semetism, or racist charactures of anyone not a specific type of European. The more you learn about what she is doing, has done, has written, it just...it just might be time to let the brand, stay as is. Eventually, becoming irrelevent, except in historical contexts.
I'm not even going to bother to debunk everything you've said. It's pointless but the semetism angle is wrong... some guy named Stewart's debunked the rumor Rowling is racist or guilty of Semetism. Ya'll are salty about the whole trans activism thing which has been proven wrong by Cass report.
The marauders or something would have been a better way to go. But I can't support the wizarding world franchise anymore. Because even though the money doesn't affect her at this stage, she takes interaction with the properties as support for her biggoted views.
The fact alone that they are immidiately going towards the HP reboot route after FB's failure shows you how barren the wizarding "world" is of actual worldbuilding and story telling potential. A good thing that came out of the entire JK discourse is how many of her die hard fans realized how bad and lazy some of the elements of the wizarding world are after they started consuming the material with a more critical view. It's a universe made out of cardboard that is hold together by the glue that is the Hogwarts experience.
i have read over 1 Billion fanfiction /cosplay stories ,, we fed the UNIVERSAL bots our stories ,,unlike Disney that shoves it,, Universal stil owns 7 attractions... around the world we have over 10,000 Universal cosplay convention sites ,,.. 70 just in Australia .. we have 12 exclusive Universal film locations here plus we pay $ 1 Trillion in taxes for them to make their show here .. we had that one shot of Australia in Deathly Hallows part2 when Hermoine leaves home,,.
@@acewickhamyoshi8330 I'm not talking about attractions, i'm talking about STORY TELLING POTENTIAL, that is different media like books and shows. Think of Star wars.
@@spotsthenpc7796 I disagree. The Wizarding World, like most fictional universes, has tons of potential. The only thing that holds it back is Rowling being the ultimate maker of decisions for the lore. Once someone who isn't so fed up with that universe as she is, takes over, it will flourish with new stories, some maybe even better than Harry Potter itself.
The Harry Potter story is just a parenthesis set in the real world. You have endless possibilities regarding storytelling. Of course you have to be just as imaginative, if not more so, as Rowling was with Harry Potter to write interesting new stories.
Part of me is excited to see the Harry Potter show, especially since I missed out the release schedule wait the books and movies had. Especially if they use the fourth season is the do over and adaption Goblet of Fire deserves. But at the same time, if there is going to be a wizarding world tv series, I would rather have something new or at least something that could open the doors for more stories. I would rather have this new series be an adaption of Hogwarts Mystery, it has a good storyline, it is a prequel (it takes place during the 7 years before Harry, Ron and Hermione went to Hogwarts) and it has a lot of potential on expanding the story and it's characters. These characters should have the same spotlight and recognition as all the others, but many are missing out and Warner Bros are missing out on a chance to make a good show based on this game. Plus it's obvious video game movies are working out and succeeding, look at the Sonic movies, The Super Mario Bros, Friday night at Freddie's and the Last of us for example, they were all based on video games and they were hits in the box office. Why not make Hogwarts Mystery into a tv series?
How will it be bad unlike the movies this will completely follow the books I’m willing to give it a fair shot wether it’s better than the movies or not nothing will ever beat the books I also wanna add I think they can have the movies be the definitive version that the parks media and Lego sets can have and have the show be it’s own thing idk what’s so confusing but I agree with all your statements in how it can be a problems
Dude, this essay was so weak. Fans will show up and we are bringing a whole new generation. As for Rowling being crazy, the US has Trump running for president, if he hasn't been canceled yet, neither will she.
Fans will show up for the first few episodes and if it’s actually good they’ll stay If it’s a shit show they’ll leave and rightfully so Let me guess though they’ll be dubbed “not real fans”
I think the main problems are that whilst there are still Potterheads out there the truth is the fan base has been split over Rowling's comments. No matter where you lie on the whole issue of Rowling's comments about transpeople the fact is she has split her base and that means possibly less of an audience for the show should it come out. As already pointed out, HBO Max is a premium service, one that doesn't go out to many countries, so if this show goes ahead I can honestly see this being a big hit on pirate bay and its ilk more than the actual streaming channel. I also think that people who love Potter but not Rowling may find the download route their preferred option, being able to sample the show without giving revenue to Rowling. But I wonder really about the motivation behind this tv series and I can't help but feel that this is less about making a more complete version of the novels and more about vindictiveness and cynicism. I think Rowling, angry as she is with the original movie leads not agreeing with her on her trans views, wants them erased as the face of the 3 main characters and have new faces instead. I also think that Warner, after the failure of the Fantastic Beasts franchise, are trying to hang on to the rights for Potter less Rowling go elsewhere for them. But my main concern is a simple one - when you take off the rose tinted glasses, there are some real problems with the original novels and this begs the question - will this new adaptation try and fix those issues (as happened with Percy Jackson) or will they be note for note a filming of the book, problematic content and all. if its the former, then they won't be faithful adaptations as promised, and if its the latter, they may well find themselves with people who don;t have rose tinted glasses on picking at those issues which will be more blantently exposed in this new adaptation, problems that were either erased or cut down in the film versions. The films weren't that long ago, and the actors left a real impression on fans so I cannot see this as anything other than a stunt, and a possibly cynical and vindictive stunt at that. I know my daughter will no doubt want to watch the new show, even though she would be torn as she does not agree with Rowling at all (not do I) but I question the actual necessity of this adaptation.
Casual Harry Potter fan that just watched the movies all the way through for the first time last year, thank you for making this video I like your style and heck I want to revisit the movies again lol
Getting the right people. The first 3 games had their music made by Jeremy Soule, lacking music from the movies. Most fans consider the music on the same level to the music from the movies, if not better.
@@Anton-vy5xq movies fans that haven't played the games may think like that. I played the first 3 HP games at an adult age, no nostalgia, and to me, the game's music is leagues ahead of the movie's score. Just checking comments on videos about the ost shows i'm not the only one to think that.
@@Rihcterwilker That wasn't my point. The music may be great, but most HP fans haven't heard it. But most fans have listened to Willams score. And unfortunately, most people are blinded by nostalgia.
Why can’t people separate the art from the artist jk Rowling never had involvement I think people need to stop being so sensitive it’s ok to hate Rowling but we can all agree she created something amazing I love the books movies and video games and my love won’t change even after jk Rowling comments
The whole JK Rowling hate is a very, very tiny minority of people. Mostly it’s Gen Z with the issues, and Gen Z isn’t the target audience of the show. Even most of Gen Z doesn’t care. When reviewers bring JK Rowling hate into their reviews, I immediately turn down any arguments being made - as it’s obvious the person has a bias.
See, the problem I have with this was that Hogwart's Legacy proved that despite the controversy, the property is still popular. Instead of making another show, they could have made a modern take with new characters at Hogwart's in present day. Why not take the kids in the epilogue of the last book and make them the new protagonists?

Honestly even ignoring everything else I’m gonna find the slavery concerning if I rewatch. Like how would you even save that and adapt it for an audience that cares more about injustice
I completely agree. Rowling is one of the most woke people out there, but she drew a line in the sand on what she won’t do, which is to ignore biological facts. And she’s been torn apart for it.
Harry Potter should not be a tv series because of JK Rowling's political posture? Part 1 is not an argument at all man 😆 good content is good content. The Rings of Power suck not because of their horrendous woke shit! It sucks because it is a total mess in terms of narrative and basic writing.
I started watching the video ready for some nostalgic rant or rowling hate, but you've made fairly grrat point and I ended up agreeing with you. I hope you're wrong, but I agree with you right now.
It’s wild to me that ppl still hate on her and call her a transphobe. To my understanding, she’s only really ever said that that trans women shouldn’t be allowed to compete in women’s sports. I don’t see how that translates to hatred necessarily. All of that aside, I have to agree with your point of the risk of having a ten year plan on a service that bleeds money. Though Netflix has been in the same boat for years and they’re still at it. As far as the comparison to the rings of power, to my understanding, MAX hasn’t casted an overweight, marginalized lesbian to play the role of Harry Potter. If they start Reece and gender swapping, then the comparison would be valid.
Great video!! I used to be such a fan but i just can't separate the work from the author anymore. She's just such a huge bigot that I can't think of anything else. Personally I just want to see new worlds in different stories that don't give someone like her money. One day i hope i can illegally watch the films and not think about the author lol.
You're completely wrong about that it's not only about the viewership of rings of power while it was terrible it was a pandering schlock fest that got so many characters wrong and then pulled a garbage twist out of its asshole and you say it's failing but it's getting a season 2 so you're completely incorrect about that as well
In my eyes it’s DOA, there is just too much to make it not work. Best for them to make a decision to talk about the muraders and the first war, then pivot to other parts you didn’t talk about enough. I’d rather rewatch the movies or reread the books
The first 3 movies covered almost everything in the books, and the last film was split into two to better cover everything. Books 4-6 are the only ones that will really benefit from "the movie had to cut a lot of stuff"... but who is going to hunker through three seasons of a show regurgitating what they've already seen before they finally start to get new content in the fourth?
I loved learning more about the happenings in the books after watching the movies and I have to say, the movies don’t feel as satisfying after reading the books, but my god would I recommend watching the movies first. It helps creating the visual aesthetic of the wizarding world, and puts a face to the characters. And while I do agree that movies like 4, 6, & parts throughout 7 are horrendous, as well as the absolute slaughter of Ron’s character and Ginny and Harry’s romance, movies like 1, 2, 3 and 5 have a forever home in my heart.
@ethanearthblade435 It ruins the book accurate visual esthetic. Hogwarts castle for example is built completely different then in the movies. The movie version contradicts the book accurate story
The hypocrisy of being a harry potter fan then hating on ppl who buy a harry potter game completely unrelated to the creator that those same ppl hate of the books is crazy
3:10 "everything problematic about the original books" People who use words like problematic are already not worth listening to, let alone people who wanna insinuate there's something "problematic" about the books. The only reason this show might be a bad idea is because woke/offended-ness will probably infect/ruin it.
The first 3 movies, and the double length 7/8 movie covered almost everything in the books. The lost material wouldn't really start kicking in until season 4-6 unless they created a toooon of new material from scratch.
No I have read the book the I settings are I. Different places the conversation are with different people bring a better convex of the world and how much bigger it is so yea I want a reboot

@@SpaceCase1701I just had to look up Little Witch Academia. Yeah, an anime style would be pretty awesome as well.

i don't want a reboot. I want a movie about the Founders of Hogwarts!
i have been dying and waiting for that to happen!
They deserve a film adaptation!
Yes! And one over the marauders
This series needs an animated show.
With every book being as long as it is, it would require several hours of material, but kids age too quickly for that to happen. That's why it needs to be animated. Every book can be a season, the first one being the smallest of course.
It being animated would also separate it more from the movies.
Percy jackson also should have been animated
This seems to ignore the success of hogwarts legacy even with the “backlash” of JK. Something like 22million sold
HogLeg was it's own story, not a reboot tho'
Jk “backlash” is insignificant just a bunch of doofuses crying on Reddit. Don’t even matter.
@elisehalflight
Doesn't bloody matter
Jk Rowling is responsible for HarryPotter, Fantastic Beasts and wizarding world.... Without her they'd be no hogwarts legacy. So if the haters were so many .... hogwarts legacy would have failed critically and financially and it avoided failing .
The reason I think it will fail is because JK Rowling will be heavily involved. Her gross bigotry aside, she doesn't belong anywhere near a script.

The world is so vast wizarding goes back thousands of years there's 11 confirmed wizarding schools they legitimately could have done ANYTHING else but went with a reboot... I would have loved to seen the other schools perspectives on that timeline because every wizard feared Voldemort worldwide..

There is a wizarding school in America called Ilvermory
The music will be the greatest let down tbh

NO thank you let's take it from someone who actually has good creative ideas
@handsomejustin I forgot this I must've been drunk lmao
I actually agree with you
I have mixed feelings about this. Some of the scenes and characterizations in the movies were great, and others were...not so great. A new series could fix a lot of the problems of the movies, but you risk losing some of the strengths. Even if you can get J.K. Rowling to write the whole screenplay herself! For example, and IMHO:
The Good: Hagrid's character was better in the movies, in the books he oftentimes either broke down in tears or flew into a rage, and it made him seem like a child sometimes.
The Bad: Movie Hermione was given many of Ron's best moments, whether they made sense or not, which made him seem like a joke of a character, and her like a superhero!
No do NOT give Rowling the screenplay. She can write books but she cannot write for film/tv, remember she wrote the Fantastic Beast movies
Give JKR the screenwriting and she'll retcon Rita Skeeter or Umbrige as trans women lmao
One reason why they may settled on this is that JKR may have blocked all other ideas
A tv series would make the movies feel less special.
If you compare them to the books they really aren’t that special and have way too many inaccuracies in them
It's a good idea to plan for now ahead of time as they will need to plan multiple seasons for each book / movie they have to adapt and not only that they will have to find new ways to improve/ make each season as original but not as similar to the book adaptation and Movies while still extending on them with the stuff they couldn't add on to each movie they made
here's a take I'm not sure many will have 1st hand experience of.
All you need to see is the current scandal with Babyinc after people found their the reason bad story writing in gems and why theirs random forced diversity tehri supports are the same people who hate hogwarts legacy but their losing as their in the minority the only reason this minority is heard so much is they have influence in the gaming media as this minority can often be found working as game journalist and games journalists tend to have good connections within games companies but as people are finding it’s not profitable or popular to listen to those types of people
I just want that warner relase all the directors cut and all the unnreleased scenes. Seriously there is a bunch of them.
i agree this is going to end in disaster. Also i don't think anyone is going to watch it as they plan to not make any changes to what we have already read or watched before
I’m watching every minute of it.
Can’t get enough of that world
While I wish JK Rowling would cool it,
the whole reason a person transitions is due to not feeling like they belong in their own body (often after being torchured for years by said feeling)
Trying to rip away the little relief they get and spamming “you’re not a real woman” is essentially just kicking someone who was already down which is what she’s devoted all her time and energy to now
And based on her commentary she either doesn’t care or doesn’t understand that
That being said the Harry Potter franchise is massive worth about 25 billion so even 10% of that is still a massive cash cow (and I doubt it would shrink that much) of the fans who disagree with JK not all are willing to boycott a series that means the world to them
Plus there is growing commentary on how the books are different from the movies these days (would be nice to see Ron retain his good moments for example)
I think it would be much easier for people to boycott a sequel series than it would the original, so its actually brilliant if not diabolical
Different route… we take all the characters from the Cursed Child (I’m talking about the parents and the kids only, not Delphi) but it would just follow Albus and Scorpius’ life at Hogwarts. Sounds weird but just hear me out on this.
“Remake” “Reboot”
Harry Potter is a book series.
Even taking out the JK Rowling BS the Harry Potter franchise was wrapped up nicely. There's no need to touch it anymore.

They should do an animated anthology sereies of the parts of the books that the movies left out.
My solution to this is making it animated
Harry Potter is a golden goose. It is a printing-money brand. The tv show will make big money, you know that.
The only way to really save the HP brand is to take away JKR's twitter account.

It wont fail.
It could fail tho
The movies are horribly made adaptations. I dream of an exact adaptation.
You're In for a surprise.. lol

You're completely wrong about that it's not only about the viewership of rings of power while it was terrible it was a pandering schlock fest that got so many characters wrong and then pulled a garbage twist out of its asshole and you say it's failing but it's getting a season 2 so you're completely incorrect about that as well
im a millenial and im no transphobe what rowling said wasnt phobic it was straight facts defending real women
Shh Liberals will cancel you 😂
You seriously underestimate the HP fandom. This is gonna be HUGE.
If they make hagrid gay ill cry 😂
In my eyes it’s DOA, there is just too much to make it not work. Best for them to make a decision to talk about the muraders and the first war, then pivot to other parts you didn’t talk about enough. I’d rather rewatch the movies or reread the books
Sorry but the movies really weren't that good. There's SO MUCH more in the books and the movies never did them any justice.
You do know they can't add everything from the book right lol
@ethanearthblade435 It ruins the book accurate visual esthetic. Hogwarts castle for example is built completely different then in the movies. The movie version contradicts the book accurate story
Compared to the other adaptations they’re actually very, very good
The hypocrisy of being a harry potter fan then hating on ppl who buy a harry potter game completely unrelated to the creator that those same ppl hate of the books is crazy
you were supposed to not consume your own product, what kind of dealer are you?
3:10 "everything problematic about the original books" People who use words like problematic are already not worth listening to, let alone people who wanna insinuate there's something "problematic" about the books.
The only reason this show might be a bad idea is because woke/offended-ness will probably infect/ruin it.
What we want a reboot. The movie left so much out and the movie only was for people that didn’t read the book
Plus, the color for Ravenclaw was inaccurate. If I remember correctly, the colors were blue and bronze and their animal is an eagle, not a raven
The third movie was already way off and Hermione was a fake girl boss since movie 1 ruining the book character
we need more people like JK
This articulates everything I feel about this announcement. I hope they don't go through with it.
Your format is lazy and obsolete. HP franchise was never transphobic, amazon's lotr went woke and gone broke
1:34 😂Who is "most"? All she did was speak biological facts. Is that a crime now?
I personally think you missed the boat on this one.
You’re letting your personal opinions about an authors outlook on life and politics drive you and it’s pretty pathetic.
You don’t have to agree with her at all, but the online people whining are a very loud MINORITY
I like to be nuanced.. also... jk Rowling is definitely transphobic. 😂
With everything going woke these days, I rather get nothing
I don’t understand why just because Rowling stated a pure fact, is now just hated by millions of people as if she is the embodiment of hitler.
I dont like the JK Rowling witch hunt. The wokies are ruining what HP was all about. I wouldnt assign failure to a show because some people have these hive mind ideals.
J.K Rowling sides with the left on nearly everything except transgederism. The arrogance and intolerance on the left transcends explanation. Fortunately, liberalism has been on the decline across the world
PRETTY sure its the author that's ruining what HP was "all about." You do know JK Rowling doesn't just make anti woke tweets, right? She's literally an anti-trans activist with a billion dollars
Rowling is ruining herself.
@@austaneousc5802 Not all people are on the same accord nor share the same views with people who are trying to cancel her. Mostly because it’s an elementary view. I believe good. You don’t agree. You bad. Like, things are way more nuanced than that.
@@soyolophieThen why is she more popular than ever on social media?
