I hang everything with command strips. They have command strips that are for heavy things and they have hooks that work with picture hanging wires. I also use adhesive hooks. Drilling makes me nervous, so I always use adhesive. I didn't drill a single hole in my office and my walls are covered in artwork. Just make sure you do a good job removing any dust from the wall to make sure the adhesive sticks well (I did learn this the hard way lol)
Try an antique mall for home decor! Prices can definitely be hit or miss depending on the seller and are typically higher than the thrift store because people curate their shops but its mostly secondhand or handmade stuff.
I live in a home with plaster walls (difficult to hang anything on). I found if you take out the glass of the art work it makes the piece a lot lighter to hang on the wall. Also, try alternatives to art work like woven items, baskets, etc. Lightweight but also funky / different.
I so appreciate the way you thrift and love your videos because of it! I can't tell you how many times I spend all day driving to different stores and come home with just 1 or 2 things, so this just feels so realistic to me 😂
For hanging things, use Command Strips (they have some for up to 20 pounds) and small picture hanging nails/hooks (they have them for up to at least 30 pounds). You’ll either not have any holes (with the Command strips) or very small holes that can be very easily filled when you’re ready to move. I always used these as a renter and never lost my deposit. And as an owner I still use them because who wants to mess with all the holes when you’re ready to change stuff up?
Congrats on your new space!! I live where buying is cheaper than renting. We bought a house in 2023 and I have enjoyed the process of thrifting the perfect items for it! My dining room is 1950's and my living room is late 1960's to 1970's ❤️. All my furniture, except out bed, is second hand!! I also am slowly building a gallery wall of our travel pics and vintage items (needle work, wood & metal pieces)....
YAYY for moving content! I’m so glad you’re excited for this place! I remember the issues with the last move, so wishing you the best on this new chapter ❤
I have, but I'm so scared of layers after so many chemical cuts happening in the past from over bleaching 😩 but I know it would definitely add a really cool look so maybe once my hair gets a tad longer!
I say this with much respect, you are such a grandma! Everything you pick up is what my grandma would like. No shade at all. Love it. Congrats on the new place!
Are there Habitat for Humanity Restores in your area? Those always have the best furniture, lamps, and other random home stuff where I am in the Midwest!
So exciting about the new place… I do think that if you want a hutch that you should buy a hutch because it can duel for storage… I also would’ve snagged that pink chair
Congratulations! So happy for you! Estate sales are the best for home decor, furniture, kitchen, art, etc. Hit a couple when you figure out exactly what you need. Btw, I'm chuckling at your jacket. It must still be cool in SoCal. I'm in SF Bay area and it's been 90-100 for a while.
Crazy to see you at this goodwill location when I was just there this morning! Hoping and manifesting running into you at the bins one day to say hi! I'm there most days of the week but I've never gone on the same day as you haha
First of all I LOVE YOUR HAIR TODAY!! Also I love this style of thrifting video!! I love clothing thrifting too but I personally love thrifting for home decor in my own life ❤❤❤my videos are usually 99% home and sometimes a couple clothing items
So glad you are getting outta that place! You need an old fashioned kitchen timer for your new place. There are so many cute ones out there. Good Luck Alexa!
Your hair is bangin’! (Pun intended❤) Don’t forget you can paint a frame super easy. I have 3 or 4 big ones, 3-5 feet in length, that I either thrifted or got for free! You can just tape the glass off and spray paint them! I just rip the inside out, put what I want either directly on the glass (cricut❤) or behind if I want to protect a piece of art or picture.
I know this was a home decor video but I can't wait for you to style those shorts! I have ones that are very similar and I have a bit of trouble styling them
Great video! As someone who suffers from aura migraines the blur method used can sometimes trigger those. Is there maybe a smoother blur option that may not affect your viewers? Thank you for sharing.
congratulations with your new place! Buy it when you find it. You might regret it big time later Thank you for showing the home decor No shame for finding some clothing Alexa
I think scunci makes fine hair bobby pin things and I used those all the time to hold bandanas and scarves in place. They are seriously amazing. I have fine hair like you've mentioned you do and even bobby pins still slide around too much if my hair isn't havnt much volume that day. They've changed my ability to do a lot with my hair honestly. Good luck! Edit -they are called gimme fine hair bobby pins from Walmart!

I use the Velcro ones and Claws for all my frames and they’ve made it through a 5.7 magnitude earthquake with no issues

Ooo your hair looks so good !! Have you considered a shag cut? With this texture, it would look amazing on you and fits your cool vibe

We need to help Carrie find an apartment she's having no luck 😢
I couldn’t just buy any artwork. It’s an expression of your taste, so buy things you really like.
Girl, get monkey hooks! They hold up to 35lbs and they leave a tiny hole in the wall.
Could you go thrifting with Paige Wassel as a collab 👀

Goodwill off fifth street in Santa Ana, habitat for humanity restore in Anaheim, and then Savers in fountain valley ❤️❤️
