  • "Very first remix I'm posting up on this channel, so let's hope that my shitty remix does this amazing song justice. (If it doesn't then I'm not surprised. You have all right to p-p-p-punch my lights out by the end of it) Either way, this song's fast paced, with alot of quick and sudden transitions between each cue. Can you keep to the beat and hopefully not fuck up?"
    BPM: 160
The song itself for those who want to hear it on its own: • BlackGryph0n & Baasik ...

Hope to keep posting more remixes up periodically, (or whenever I feel like it) so keep your eyes/ears peeled for that.

*I sincerely apologise if a few cues feel/sound out of place or the sound-mixing is a little too low at some points. I'm still fairly new to the custom remix game, so if this sounds a little odd for you guys then I'm sorry about that. If there's anything I can hopefully improve on with the remix, I'd be happy to take in feedback regarding that.*
Anyway, hope you enjoy this first of many shitty custom remixes I'll be posting to the channel periodically. *I mainly cover songs that I've taking a liking too over my childhood (which mostly include video games and cheesy pop songs from the early 80s/90s and early 2000s... ohhh boy....) so just expect that to be the running theme for these remixes, although I love mixing up songs from any genre so I can keep this shit fresh and interesting for me in the longrun.*
I've already made a couple remixes in the past that I've got saved on my desktop for a while now, so when I get the chance to record them, I'll post em' up whenever. *Also, this remix honestly is the first one that I actually felt proud of when I made it a couple months back so that's why it's the first one to get recorded and posted up on this channel. It just holds some weird kinda sentimental value for me for some reason. I also just really love the song, so go figure on that one.*
*Finally, no I'm definitely not good enough to be making complete visuals for these remixes anytime soon, so if you're looking for that, I must apologise ahead of time.* Maybe in the future when I'm actually smart enough to know my way around a fucking video software program and have editing skills that go past 'high-school grade i-movie projects', then I'll perhaps try editing visuals to my remixes, but hey. As of now, I'm sorry to say but these remixes will mostly follow in the vein of just recording RHRE with the shitty Quicktime player app. Again, apologising ahead of time.
Either way, long reflection post aside. Hope you enjoy this remix and hopefully can endure some cue hiccups along the way either because of my incompetence or because some otherworldly force keeps fucking up the editor in some fashion or another.

Okay, I hope you wanted to hear a little feedback on this video because I'm about to give some...
It's a cool remix for being your first, so it's certainly entertaining enough. You captured the tone of the music nicely, and followed the flow.
But a downside is that you kind of "spammed" some games at points. Not so much mindlessly, but that you added so many sound effects that it was challenging to hear/follow them all. This, is a style that I've seen others done similarly, and it mostly a matter of taste. But that would be an improvement I would give to you, if it might be helpfull...
(Okay this was a nightmare of a reaction/comment I just gave you)

Yo, if anything I wanna thank you for being honest about your feedback that you've given me in regards to the remix. I know for a fact that it's not my best and that a whole lot more can be done with it to make it a lot better than it is.
In regards towards some cues being spammed at certain points, I can take all responsibility on that front. When it comes to making remixes for me, I often just like to experiment with many games as I can just to see what works and I also often go completely overboard with a few games and that sort of drowns out the music in general. (Which is evident by your feedback) So in terms of spamming certain cues, that also relates to me wanting specific cues to adapt to the music itself, which might not work most of the time. But as such, that's just my style that I often enjoy going with, but I'll try to take your feedback into account when it comes to making future remixes.
I also gotta note that certain cues like the Space Dance 'p-p-p-punch' cue that occurs after each chorus with the First Contact cues was completely intentional as I thought that it fit with the song, which brings me to my issue that some of my remixes aren't gonna be completely 'game-play intuitive' and thus are substituted with trying to mesh well with the song. However certain cues like the Flockstep one (1:50) and the Fillbot cue (2:46) are there solely cos I'm a lazy dumbass that thought sounded good in the moment but now wish I adjusted it slightly so that it doesn't sound slightly off, so I gotta apologise for that.
Either way, I gotta appreciate the feedback you provided for me and I hope that if you stick around, you may enjoy future remixes that I'll be posting down the line. Thanks again.

      Wow that's... a big... reply...
Anyway, if you want to take anything from what I said, I guess it's ultimately about expirimentation. Try what feels best and see if your intuition is actually right. Although I don't have the most experience making these, compared to others in this niche field, I do know that you can accomplish a lot by trying new things and seeing how they fit. Certain rhythms almost ask for a certain game choice. Take Shrimp Shuffle, as an example, which would often not fit, but if the rhythm is almost made for it, it'll be amazing.
We can connect this back to the bit about spamming, so you might want to check how you could've used other games in their place. Generally, longer cues are made excellent to use, you just need the right moment to place them. Power Calligraphy might sound a lot like nonsense-sound-effects, but they'll work quite well, and fairly often too! Or take Exhibition Match, which has you hitting on beat five, making it cool for long lasting notes in the music.
Anyway, I'll be interested to see how your future Remixes will turn out, so I'll stick around for now... good luck!
