  • What's there else to say when it comes to this absolute enigma of a song? If anyone comes around and genuinely ask you what's the best part about the Shrek franchise and just Shrek 2 in general, you just point them to this: • Holding out for a Hero... = and never look back. This is what I and many can definitely say is the absolute definition of what can be considered the 'perfect cover' that honestly is objectively BETTER than the original. Having rewatch Shrek 2 SO many goddamn times, this one song and the entire sequence of events that transpire will forever stick out in my feeble mind and will forever be regarded as one of the best things that mankind has ever put out onto the big screen. This is the kinda shit that'll hold the test of time no matter what, and it honestly deserves every bit of respect and recognition that is thrown at it.
Remix Description: "Let's mix some shit up. What better way to crash a phoney party than to go in guns blazing with a giant gingerbread man in tow, an obnoxious loudmouth donkey-horse, a puss with the boots and the hunk of ogre-man on a desperate attempt to take back the love of his life from the nasty and prissy clutches of a Charming piece of shit. Can you disregard the irregularities and the complete randomness of the situation and keep yourself to this spontaneous beat that is truly the pinnacle of what mankind has to offer. No practice is needed. Go do what you gotta do and get it done before midnight... also keep clear of the bloody gumdrop buttons... that shit is one boundary you really don't want to mess with. Do yourself a favour and get the fuck out of there if you so happen to screw things up, cos after tonight, nothing's ever gonna be the same ever again.
If you couldn't tell, I REALLY fucking love this song and even though it came out of nowhere, it was only a matter of time before I decided it was time to finally remix it. Took me a real long time and I know a few cues sound a tad off (I can't for the life of me use Glee Club right, or any pitch-based games in general) but I tried to do what I could and over the course of a few weeks had went back and continuously revised it over and over, cos quality control for this song takes priority over everything else. Either way, I hope this one turned out alright and that the cues are in rhythm with the song, cos I had a really fun time working on this one. More outlandish and really bizarre songs will be coming out in the near future cos I do have the most fun remixing weird fucking songs that are sure to raise a few eyebrows.
Hope you enjoyed this one. Also if you got nothing to do, watch Shrek 2 and then rewatch another 12+ times over the course of a whole year as it is pure brilliance in DVD form. Nothing else will compare, I can assure you on that. (Aside of Spiderman 2, another case of perfection)

*"Karate Joe is one hero that we truly needed, the one we strived to become, the one we aspired to envision for generations to come but alas... is the one that we just don't deserve in our own insignificant lifetime."*

Looking at it, there are SO many neat touches you did, like the “toss and turn” line being done with that pillow game, or “he’s gotta be strong” with the dog lumberjack,
Or the mention of racing being accompanied with the racing one.
It’s the little things like that that make a good Remix into a great one

This sounds dope not gon lie. Can you link the song before you remixed it tho. I've been looking for a specific version of it for a while and it kinda sounds like this.
