Synopsis: "The noble knights of Bretonnia are bound by duty and honour to fight for their king, and defend their lands from invaders. When the Lord of Bastonne falls ill, his two sons Calard and Bertelis are plunged into conflict as suppressed rivalries surface. As a horde of goblins swarms out of the forests, the knights gather their forces to repel the foul beasts, little suspecting that the true enemy has yet to reveal itself."

Minotaur spotted. Blink and you'll miss it. To compare the two, the Gave's Chaos-conjured spreading, hijacked forests seem more threatening and maybe faster than the Ents' tree-friends of Fangorn forest.
It is kind of strange that the nobility address the Damsels of the Lady of Bretonnia as “lady” rather than “damsel”.
Your family tree's revelations just keep coming, Calard. I'm sure you've also got a long-lost, discarded-but-not-destroyed Chaos spawn of a little brother out there leading all of the beastmen of Bretonnia, it seems. The Gave would be more the “true enemy (that) has yet to reveal itself” and less the “suppressed rivalries”, both phrases from the novel's description which I'd initially combined to misinterpret early on as likely meaning Bertolis succumbing to darkness (his mother's nature doesn't help) and turning against Calard. Not in this book. Anyway, with no woods knocking at my door, I'm gladly enjoying this tale set in Bretonnia. Thanks yet again Narrator, and 'til tomorrow's sequel, have a fantastic end to your week.
