This is some wholesome content. Love how enthusiastic you are about the instrument. Been playing guitar for a while, decided to learn trumpet, and loving it.
When playing high notes, open your throat, it helps. I joined band late too. I've been playing for 10 months now and I'm in 1st chair :> Just practice every day and you'll get there soon.

Hi Stephanie i have been watching your channel you play so beautifully. About the spit Valve the real name Is Water key because what comes out of it its actually Water not spit that occours because the air that we exhale has a Water content in the form of gas and when the air enters into the trumpet the Water content of the air condensates because the temperature of the metal inside the trumpet Is lower than the temperature of the air

You did a really great job! I am an adult trumpet player trying to teach my daughter and your explanations and lesson was in HER language, not mine, making it super easy for her to understand what I was trying to teach her. Thanks so very much for being such a perfect fork bando for us.
Excited to learn the trumpet at 65 years young..Im inspired by Herb Albert, earth Wind and fire, Chicago to name a few. Grateful from a very special person for the opportunity 😁😍☝️
I just started today and you was so realistic with it so thank you so much, lol! I am so glad I came to your video first. I want to teach myself to play, like I learned with all the instruments I play. To me it’s better that way. Awesome video, thumbs up 👍!!!!
It does matter where you put your right thumb. What you did is good. If you put it more on top on your left thumb then you risk not having your right finger tips on the finger buttons.
I played the trumpet from 6th-7th grade; I stopped due to a medical issue that would put me way behind my fellow band classmates. Now 11-12yrs later, i decided to relearn the trumpet. this video is helpping a lot thanks.! 🎺

OMG this video was so helpful thank you so much. I am a new band Player and my fans not start until Wednesday so I just got my new instrument tonight and this really helped me a lot learning the basics thank you so much again. I am new in band and I'm in 5th grade.
Just a quick correction, on the right hand your pinky doesnt go in the ring but on top of it so you can rest it there. The reason is if you put your pinky in it, it puts pressure on your face so you can't play as well
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU i just started today and im basicly in seventh grade i was aiming to join marching band and i finally made a good clean note so thank you so much 😁😁😁😁😁😁
At my school we haven't started playing instrument in my grade yet, but my dad used to own an instrument company and he has some spare instruments in our basement, so I'm just starting out with a trumpet!
Just for an interesting tip 👇 The ‘spit’ will only come out of the third valve (on the right) if you push the third button Hope you guys will find this useful 🙂
Okay so I'm not playing trumpet but I'm writing a fake random "song" for my trumpet friend and all I need to know is the sounds the sheet paper notes make. I've been on UA-cam for over an hour trying to find someone either useful or interesting and you are both 👉😎👉 (I subscribed heh)

im playing trumpet in a school band. I couldn't play g until 3 months in and I couldn't play C until a year in. Tbh tho i never really practiced for the first year, but in the past 6 months i picked up the practice and now I can play high G-B, depending on what kind of a day it is.
I've played the trumpet for about 4 years now but I felt like watching a 'how to play trumpet' video I have no clue why xD , It was pretty good :D Good job
i just came across this video and i’m so glad i did . i’m a freshman and i’m just now joining marching band. can you give me any tips with the trumpet?
I’m about to go into 8th grade so ima beginner when it come to trumpet. I joined band playing the oboe , but they don’t march so I decided to play 2 instruments 🎺
Did a good job Michelle, just turned 59 yrs old and love my Yamaha quite modern. Got it a a pawn shop for Christmas 2014. Do you have any more videos. I'm James Sharp on Facebook
Please be careful with the balance between air and pressure in your body. This is a common beginner mistake she also made (it sounded like it at least) which leads to a bad tone. Before developing a good and stable sound you shouldn't do anything else
I’m learning to play every instrument in band I’m in 7th going to be high school drum major this year and I play bass clarinet but I love trumpet and trumbone there fun to play
that trumpet is a beginner, its really good with marching band and just beginner type of stuff for the trumpet, if your looking for a step up I would suggest a Yamaha allegro, or if you want to do this long term and you feel ready for a huge step up for professional. I would suggest any trumpet between, Bach, Jupiter, and Yamaha. those three brands are really good for professional trumpet. I myself play a Jupiter XO, that is the Jupiter professional series and I really love the horn. so yeah that's my rendition on step ups and professional horns.

Im having the same situation where i started band late, but i know i can do it. I started 8th grade, so just 1 year of a differece, but you learn a lot in 1 year, so props to you.
Another thing to remember is not just faster air, but also use more air, and don't used your eyebrows to play notes (not saying you did but just in general) for example, if you're trying to get your high e, dont scrunch your face or raise your eyebrows up too high. It jist causes tension. Also don't push the mouth peice into your face too hard. It just needs to be on there enough where no air escapes out the sides of the mouth peice (:
I have a question. So when I saw that clip of your first time buzzing that sounds like my buzz when I started, a week ago, does it get better before the school year ends. Sorry this is a very dumb question
Dont look at a tutorial made by a beginner. Look at a tutorial made by better players. Look at charlie porters video on embouchure. I made the mistake of starting off with a bad embouchure, and had to correct it to improve my range, which was harder because I was used to playing with the same embouchure for years. You should watch charlie porters embouchure video since u just started. In the future you'll give yourself a pat on the back
I play horn in concert band but I'm learning trumpet to play in jazz cause my band needs more jazz trumpets. And one of the first notes that I played on trumpet was either the C in the staff or the D in the staff
Wayne Bergeron started on mellophone (similar to French horn) and switched to trumpet and his first note was double C which is the 4th octane up (not including pedal and double pedal C)
CarsAndTechExclusive What r u basing that on, were u 7th chair in CBDA lol cuz if so that is not at all accurate, one reason is that it depends on how long u spent on ur recordings (and I can say for a fact that some ppl spend more time than others cuz in 8th grade I sent all my recordings in first take while my friend spent like 2 months straight recording) and I am consistently 1st chair in SCSBOA which has live auditions while in 7th and 9th grade I didn’t even make all state. Also the judging for CBDA in general is kinda weird, there was one trumpet player won the International Trumpet Guild solo competition (which is incredibly competitive) but then was not accepted into CBDA which shows clear flaws in the system, especially since the audition is solo based Sry for destroying ur ego if u were basing that on CBDA lol but if u keep working u could get a legitimate reason to claim a ranking like that through solo competitions like ntc and Itg Holy shit y did I waste my time on this u said that over a yr ago

cheesymangos very good!
thank you for saying that i need as much tips as I need because Im sort of struggling to play high notes
I've been playing trumpet for 4 years, tight lip and fast air helps with the high notes
