Hope that one of your local frenz in KL will invite u guys for their open house. In Malaysia, we fast for a month, n for some people, they celebrate for a month also.
I actually went to Bukit Bintang KL yesterday but there were so many immigrants especially Bangladeshi n Rohingyas, so crowded..Looking forward to attend Hari Raya Open House, Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri 🌙
Hari Raya is the only celebration whereby almost every locals in KL will travel back to their hometown, village, state of origin, to celebrate Hari Raya with their parents, families and old folks.. u hardly find locals in KL during Raya except for those who hv to work during Raya. But u will find perhaps thousand of foreigners in KL enjoying the holiday by meeting friends etc.
As malaysian, i’ll feel sad when tourist mistaken foreigner with malaysian.. i know malaysian is diverse with malay, chinese and indian.. and only we malaysian can differentiate if someone is indonesian, bangladesh, or china by only looking at their cloth and behavior
The best way to celebrate hari raya is visiting to muslim friend's house. Make a friend with some Malay. Sure they will invite you to come their open house.
During Eid Holidays, most Malaysian a.k.a locals will leave Kuala Lumpur for their hometowns.. most shops & food stalls will be closed for few days.. only the city center will be busy, mainly by immigrants from Bangladesh, Nepal & Indonesia spending their days off there..
lots of KL residents come from outside KL... usually, KL will be a little quiet every Eid because many of its residents return to their hometown / 'balik kampung'... it's like a tradition.
Almost 99.5% all the foreign workers celebrate their holiday at klcc.. from country Bangladesh, Myanmar, Nepal, Indonesia and the others take a chance to have gathering together on public holiday right there. P/s don't forget to attend open house by the government.
During Raya, KL is dead bro! Like XMAS, during Raya, the locals will be going back to their kampung (hometown) for the Eid celebration. The huge crowd that you’d seen in Suria KLCC are mostly foreign workers who are on their Raya break. You should go to your friend open house to experience the Raya with good foods and times! Selamat Hari Raya guys! Dun worry Raya is not a day celebration, it is actually a month celebration. If I am in KL I probably going to invite you to my open house.
most of the crowd at klcc is foreign worker. most of the local went back to their hometown. since foreign worker also got extra holiday on hari raya and fewer locals in KL, its kind of oppurtunity for them to visit petronas tower.
klcc is packed with foreign workers taking leave from their for 3-4 days of eid holidays... many of them work in factories and building sites around kl and selangor.,.. some of their friends also are visiting from other states in the peninsula msia
@Travels on Toast 1) Kampung Baru and KL seems quiet and empty because most malaysians living here goes home to their parents homestate to celebrate Eid. There is an exodus to leave town just before Hari Raya. Only foreign workers are in town or those whose homes are actually in KL. 2) If you fo get an invitation to a local's open house it is not compulsory to wear the baju melayu or baju kurung. Just be respectably dressed. 3) Eventhough the PM open house is out of Putrajaya this year you can still visit any Minister's open house whenever they host one around KL. 4) Really hope you get invited to one soon.
Great to see your latest video. We were in Penang, Georgetown for the last few days and found the same thing. Finally found a food court open near the Jetties and also some wonderful Chinese restaurants around town
0:16 While the houses in Kampung Baru still belong to Malaysian Malays, many of them are leased to migrant workers from Indonesia and lately from Bangladesh too. So it's not surprising that you don't see much activities around there during Hari Raya since it's no longer a predominantly Malay enclave.
The people crowding the malls during Eid holiday were mostly foreign workers. Locals either stay at home or were out of the city in their respective home towns or villages. Most of the streets on KL will be deserted for the duration of the holidays.
8:35 Malaysians could easily tell you the people seen here are foreign migrant workers - Bangladeshis by the look of it. During Hari Raya you would hardly see any Malaysia Malays around in Kuala Lumpur shopping malls but those you see are mostly foreign migrant workers spending their days off. Remember there are at least 7 million foreign workers in Malaysia, equivalent to 22 percent of the country's population and 45 percent of its workforce.
Usually 1st and 2nd day of hari raya, .we celebrate within family members. And in malaysia, hari raya celebration will continue for one month. Means there are subscribers will invite you guys or government offices or agencies will do public open house around KL Selangor areas where anyone can come. Enjoy hari raya more..
All only you can find at KL only foreigner during this time...all locals already gone to their hometown to celebrate hari raya..you need to go to village outside KL to see and know the real hari raya..
Most people in KL goes back to their hometown outside KL in other states. Normally 3 days. After that back to KL. they can do open houses at their KL home any day within 1 month coz we celebrate eid for 1 month.
Hari Raya the action Is in the country side (Kampung). KL would be the lamest town For First few days of raya! Perhaps next year you could adopt a family and join them to experience raya! It is something good to experience honestly! 😊
😅😂 not on Hari Raya! It's "balik kampung" aka going back to hometown Or going abroad for holidays for a change! It's a breeze to drive 🚗💨 in KL at this time coz there's practically no traffic congestion at all! ☺️🥳 That's good for Selangorians but in a few days time, it'll be back to normal! 😆 Most foreign workers that you see in KLCC are having a jolly longggg break as they've contributed most of their time here in construction work (Twin Towers, PNB 118, condos etc) and this is the Only time they get to chill out with their friends. 🤓🤗📸🕺🏿
Malaysian society is quite typical bro. During the festive season, majority of Kuala Lumpur residents will return to their hometowns throughout the country. Whether returning to Sabah, Sarawak, North, South or the east coast celebrate Eid fitr with family, relatives, parents, grandparents. Only a small number still live in Kuala Lumpur or were born in Kuala Lumpur. Like me, take advantage of a vacation to Cameron Highland. So what happened in Kuala Lumpur? Will be filled by foreign workers from Indonesia, Bangladesh, India, Myanmar and others. Since foreign workers do not return to their home countries, they are on vacation at the concentration center in Kuala Lumpur. The situation will return to normal after the 3-day holiday and people will return to Kuala Lumpur in their daily lives. If you want to know the true joy of Eid, you need to be outside Kuala Lumpur, either in Penang, Melaka, Johor or inland areas.
Majority of the people in KL go back to their hometowns outside the city, thats why places like Kpg Baru is quiet. The people thronging KLCC are majority foreigners or foreign workers who goes sight seeing on their day off from work.
because most people in KL are going back to their hometown outside of KL..and KL resident are very old generation, some already passed away like my grandparents..the young one usually live other place or maybe they goin to their wife/husband hometown
Syawal lasts for a month. The Malaysian government has an Open House program in several states. But this year the Federation made it in the states of Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu. Often the Selangor state government will hold an open house too. Similarly, large companies also do Open Houses. No one is forbidden because it is an Open House. ONLY got to know went it happen. As Malay usually celebrate Eid fitr with ketupat, lemang and rendang, this open house party will serve such food in addition to traditional Malay sweets
During Eid, all the locals usually goes back to their home town village for few days....KL usually will be deserted.....The crowd that u guys saw at KLCC are actually lots of foreign labour workers.
Those people are mostly foreign workers, with a few locals who haven't had the chance to go back to their hometown yet, or they villages are in the areas surrounding kl itself.... You’re in the wrong place to see Hari Raya celebration. You should go to “kampung” or village area to see Malaysian celebrate Hari Raya. The best place to go in my opinion is in Kuching, Sarawak (East Malaysia). There, the Sarawakian celebrate Hari Raya 7 days 7 nights in wearing traditional attire, baju melayu (for men) and baju kurung (for women). Open house is everyday where everybody serves rendang, lemang, ketupat, curries, lontong, etc. I can say, the 1st 7 days of Syawal will be the days of feasting and completing one month of fasting.
KLCC full of foreign worker like Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka etc during Hari Raya lol...most locals go back to their hometown like Kedah, Kelantan & Terengganu...
Lot of people that you guys see in KLCC is mostly foreigners from Indonesia/Bangladesh and etc. You guys might need to get some help from some locals Malay guy to be invited to any open house. Btw KL is the wrong place to feel the vibe of Eid. You guys should go to ‘kampung’ & I’m sure you guys will feel it.
most people u see ths are the foriegner that leave and working in Mlalaysia.most local will be back to home town in all state around Malaysia to celebrate hari raya for few day then they will be back to K lumpur and also other town , dont be understood .
it is a west coast monsoon season, sometimes its get hotter in the afternoon, but you’ll get thunderstorm and heavy rains in the evening as well.. since Malaysia have 4 seasons as well - hot very hot, wet, very wet 😅😅
