Varijashree Venugopal’s interactive demonstration / introduction of South Indian Vocal modes, styles & improvisation.
She introduces the 7 “svaras" (notes: saa, re/ri, ga, ma, pa, dha, ni) and is joined by master percussionist Pramath Kiran who demonstrates Konnakol, the vocal production of percussion syllables in South Indian Carnatic music.
