When I see Gerald still soaking up and cranking out these original vibes over 35 years on he makes me a proud Mancunian. He’s in Legend territory now, no turning back.
Marvelous how he gets a basement full of 'da kids' and uptight hipsters to slow down their dance to the 'Jack' (and to stop looking at their phones every two minutes!) A 'gentle genius' of 20th century electronic music whose albums are somewhat underrated. Just a suggestion: if you put his masterpiece '28 Gun Bad Boy' through your 'system' (be it in your bedroom, car or headphones)... You will have your socks blown off, believe me. Thank you Boiler Room and all involved. Brilliant as ever.
This set just BANGS. The stuff we hear from Culoe de Song...this dude is part of the reason we get that great music now. Playing with HEART...just working it out, sweating and getting it in with the folks in the room. RESPECT!!!
I'd be very surprised if this wasn't all original material knowing this fella... So much stuff you hear him play doesn't seem to exist anywhere else...
I heard 808 state tried to rip him off or something... He was, clearly is a person who loves music and a talented musician. Unlike the legions come and gone who were in it for the money, girls and coke.
Gerald was in 808 State. A lot of the early stuff was Gerald. Gerald got pissed because he wrote Pacific State and left before he had finished it and it got finished / released without any credit to Gerald.
See white shirt green hat dude? Be like white shirt green hat dude around the dj and respect his personal space. He's working and putting his heart and soul into it.
What's with that crowd? What a bunch of stiffs! Boiler Room needs to start hosting these events in places like Detroit, Chicago, etc where the crowds actually appreciate the artists and move like their on fire!
First I knew about this guy is listening his DNB album lent from my friend. I'm not expecting this video as a DNB set. I am just curious and found out it's a techno house set.
Are you serious? Looks like he's running two instances of reason through rewire into a mixer on both channels.. that takes at least as much skill, just a different kind
nervous system feeling gouda. i am still here for what you craft since automanikk when I thought the u.s. was going to re-instate the military draft for the gulf war. voodoo ray, your influence on 808 state pacific, essence, black secret technology, telling lies (david bowie paradox mix), etc. all help to the ease me brain.

Manchester can be proud ❤
God bless you. From a massive Joy Division fan. I still feel every beat very important set right here. Actually emotional. Keep looking up.

This guys dedication to machine soul and quality dance music and red stripe and being LIVE ... total hero.
it's all his own original music that is producing right there on the spot with loops and samples
it's not insane is just you, your are dumb.......read the Title "LIVE"
"your are" while calling someone else dumb.
@@robertoferrazzi2410 I think he means it's all improvised.
@@mjsferrier - Ha ha, perfect!
;-)
I assure you this guy can spin vinyl, he's been around for a long time. He's just shaking things up to keep it interesting for himself.
The sweetest thing in this video is the beautiful young woman that is fanning Gerald..she is a wife for sure!

Spot on comment this one :D Some of them were trying too hard to feel it and not letting it naturally creep up on them.
I met this man in hull in 1989 after one of his live shows. A truly polite and lovely man taking time to talk to me
The talent of this man will earn even greater recognition in the wider context in years to come.
Very happy I came across this, classic, organic, original, jam, funk etc

This is so good it hurts.
37:50 or so an acid line. I was hoping for some old skool SH-101 and TB-303 grooves but I guess times change.
Watching people dancing like bouncing ball, this is so funny ahahahah
without this man and others in his era, there is no Techno, no House, no Drum & Bass, no acid house, no nothing. zilch. dance music doesn't exist.
lol @ the guy holding the sign saying 'In Russia we can't be gay' @ 24.50!!!
Good for Russia
Poor man only got a drink an long way in!!
Still bumpin'
i was a bit sceptical about AGCG and his present music, but this changed my mind, deep n sexy! ahhhyeaah
Couldn't have said it better myself, he's been a producer & dj since the late 80's give him some credit ...
awesome, even the first 60 seconds remind me what its like to be alive

Gotta love him
this is all well and good, 'nice set' , but seeing vinyl would make me a hundred times happier. nothing like skills.
He was sampling different beats and loops , he wouldnt have been able to do this with record decks alone.
