Yep, the two countries are so far apart, that it would take less time to take a boat from South Africa to the icy South pole than then time it takes to take a plane to Nigeria. Its like traveling from the most southern country of South America and traveling all the way to central Canada.

The thing is, Nigerians are survivors, we adapt to any and every environment we find ourselves. Two examples; Nigerians in the U.S. officially are the most educated immigrant group in the country, but in Italy they found a different niche and there is now a massive Nigerian run mafia especially in camorra and Sicily. Depending on who you ask, a Nigerian is a criminal, a soldier, a doctor, an engineer or just a friend. One thing we never are is dull or boring. One Love.

I am Nigerian, if you go to any Nigerian restaurant and ask for fufu you are getting pounded cassava called Akpu, it has a funny smell but very good as well. The Akpu and pounded yam are both white in colour. I think pounded yam is called fufu in Ghana. And i think Fufu or Akpu or pounded yam is more like a west African dish. That was why I think the South African guy didnt know what pounded yam is.

South Africans have always loved and celebrated Nigerians, a lot of Nigerians reside in South Africa, also in our soccer clubs we have a couple of Nigerians, we also love Nigerian music and movies. The problems began when South Africans started calling out and pointing some of the wrong things some Nigerians were doing and still contiue to do, and they didn't like that even though our problems were with the ones who do wrong things, we started being insulted and called names. Which led to fake news and misinformation doing the rounds on the internet which painted South Africans in a bad manner. And South Africans also hit back at them and it became a cycle. The truth is South Africans are the most welcoming people in the eenteire African continent, maybe the world even, but when our people are being hurt we not supposed to say anything we should just keep quiet because fellow Africans are our brothers, but some of our brothers are hurting us. Don't get me, not all Nigerians do bad things and I've met many who are actually nice people with beautiful hearts, but we can't ignore those doing bad things to us. And in all of Africa you won't find a place like SA were there are people from other countries in large numbers.

To be honest the drug issue in SA predates Nigerian immigration to the country, the country has an issue with drug addicts, which is what attracted Nigerian drug dealers in the first place. The remedy is in your hands SA and don't be afraid to deport drug dealers. If we are being honest. I hear no talk of Nigerian business people and doctors in SA from you. Fufu is not a flour and water mix. It's a product made from fermented cassava. usually. But, these days, there are versions made from mixing a paste made from a flour-type version, so, it's a powdery version of the original thing. Also, the traditional fufu made in Igbo land has a different flavour from that made in the south-west part of the country.

I am 49 years old and was born and raised in North Central Texas. Most of us have lived our lives as a Southern state cooking soul food. My grandparents and great-grandparents cooked traditional soul food and not food from Louisiana. Texas was once a country and is huge. People from the Houston area seem to like the Louisiana cuisine, and going to that state or restaurants is what happens when Texans want that cuisine. There are a lot of farmers in this area that grew up milking cows, raising chickens, slaughtering pigs and eating that meat. We’re an hour North of Dallas, so this region is not centered around food from Louisiana like the hosts of this channel. I noticed that you have a last name that sounds French and may be the reason that you’re so interested in Louisiana and not Texas. Before going to another content for differences, maybe the differences in Texas alone would be great for you guys!

As with any country there are good and bad guys. Unfortunately we only hear about the human traffickers and the drug smugglers when it comes to Nigerians although it's NOT all of them. For that reason Nigerians are feared. It's like poachers that give Mozambicans a bad name even though they have some of the most hard working and humble people amongst them. And Zimbabweans who are singled out for crime in South Africa even though statistically South Africans commit more crime. What you hear and what's the truth is 2 different things. People point out the bad so that they can get their way. That goes for all nations. Nigeria as a country is extremely advanced and their economy is booming. They have the biggest economy in Africa if I'm not mistaken. They are extremely intelligent and highly educated as are Zimbabweans. The media tends to only talk about the negative so if you don't know them personally, it is very easy to get a very bad picture of others
